Using .20 gram BB’s I loaded up the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol with propane gas and placed several rounds through my Chronograph to see what the feet per second average would be. The last 5 shots I took where actual the fastest averaging 290 fps, a little bit slower than I was expecting but just about right for close quarters Airsoft games.
I then switched over to .32 gram Airsoft BB’s since they tend to be a bit more accurate out at longer ranges. Using a fresh paper target and shooting from a rested and seated position 30 feet away, I took 10 shots with the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol. The result was a 10 round grouping of about 2 inches with one straggler just outside the main group. The Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol did shoot a little bit low at 30 feet but I am sure the hop-up can be adjusted for this. It was well centered left to right which is a good thing since the sights are non-adjustable.
I really like the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol, it looks and feels very solid with a nice balance in the hand. The Single Action Only Trigger is short and light making follow up shots quick and responsive. The blowback action is crisp with good simulated recoil. I look forward to trying out the Steel BB version of the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Pistol as soon as I get my hands on one which should be pretty soon. Take your pick, Airsoft or Steel BB, either is a great choice!
Again I have some new products to show everyone. Some we got a bit of a preview of when I was at SHOT Show 2019 earlier this year but now I have them in my hands to show off and of course will be doing full Table Top and Filed Test for anything new as soon as I can get to them.
Starting with Sig Sauer, they sent me their brand new Sig Sauer P365 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. This was probably one of my favorite new Air Pistols at SHOT Show simply because it is so small and somehow Sig was able to find a way to put a full size drop out metal magazine that holds both the CO2 and BB’s in it. This is one I am really looking forward to testing out in the Indoor Sea Can Airgun Shooting Range.
Another fantastic product is Crosman’s DPMS Full Auto CO2 BB Rifle which was pretty much perfect the first time around. Well at SHOT Show this year Crosman updated it a bit mainly with some cosmetic changes and now is offering the Crosman MPW, a slightly shorter version of the DPMS and now with an AR Compatible Stock for customizing your Crosman’s MPW Full Auto CO2 BB Rifle.
So maybe not as exciting… I also take a look at a NBB CO2 BB Makarov from KWC that is pretty basic but is much less expensive and will offer higher FPS and more shots per CO2 being that it is Non-blowback Airgun. It will be interesting to see how it compares performance wise to the KWC Full Blowback CO2 BB version.
Last but also super cool and I know it’s not really as Airgun related but still something I think everyone will be interested in is the Pocket Shot Pro Arrow Pouch with D-Loop. I reviewed the Pocket Shot “Slingshot” a while back, this new product allows you to use standard Arrows with their new Arrow Pouch getting around 40 pounds of pull and it comes with a trigger release. By the way the Pocket Shot Pro Arrow system is legals to hunt deer with in most US States, I’m not sure about Canada but perhaps here too?
Air Venturi announced their new Springfield Armory lien of BB and Airsoft guns at SHOT Show 2019 and of course I stopped by to talk with Scott and see what these new products where all about!
First off we have the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine Rifle. You will be able to get it in either 4.5mm Steel BB or 6mm Airsoft versions. Both will have full drop out metal magazines that hold the 12 gram CO2 and either 15 BB or Airsoft rounds. You can expect around 40-60 shots per CO2 since the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine is a full blowback Airgun. The standard version will come with a synthetic wood stock that is very believable but for around $100 more you will have the option of a real wood stock which does add a bit to more weight to the rifle.
Continuing on with some more Springfield Armory Airguns. Air Venturi will be distributing the XDM pistol in a compact and full size configuration, again both 4.5mm Steel BB and Airsoft versions. There will be a solid black version and a two tone silver slide version so lots of options to pick from. The 4.5mm Steel BB version will use a 12 gram CO2 while the Airsoft version will allow for Green Gas or CO2 mags.
I wanted to mention one more product Scott showed me that is still in production, a reactive target system called the Bata-Bang that connects to your phone via Bluetooth allowing you to time your shooting and play shooting games with it and others even online. Hopefully we see this product soon from Air Venturi!
Here we go, the first SHOT Show Interview for 2019 and why not kick things off with Sig Sauer. After all Sig Sauer has been super dedicated to bringing new Airgun designs to the airgun community year after year and this year at SHOT Show was no exception!
My favorite item from Sig Sauer this year at SHOT Show was the Sig Sauer P365 ASP, as the name suggests it is based on their 9mm firing real steel Sig Sauer P365 and somehow similar to how they fit 10 rounds of 9mm ammo into such a compact magazine and gun, the BB version also manages to jam a 12 gram CO2 cartridge into a very tiny drop out metal magazine! Really looking forward to getting my hands on this one!
Sig Sauer launched several Airsoft guns, an AEG Airsoft Rifle called the MCX Virtus and two GBB Airsoft Pistols, the M17 and P226. All of them fully licensed and also should be Canada import ready.
Last up but something that we have all been waiting for in an ASP Pellet firing rifle, the Virtus 22 Caliber PCP Rifle. Well the name says it all. It’s basically an MCX Pellet Rifle but now in 22 caliber and with a PCP tank built into the rear stock. In Canada you will need a PAL to buy one but import into Canada should not be a problem for license holders since the 22 Virtus PCP will quality as a long gun.
Here we go again with another Favorite Airgun Video of 2018, this time I show you my Air Rifle Favorites! There are usually a lot less Air Rifles that come out than Air Pistols but this year was’t too bad for new and interesting Ari Rifles. As per usually there where more 4.5mm Steel BB Rifles and I am sorry to say nothing really came out at least in the Replica Air Rifle department but of course there where 6mm Airsoft rifles too.
I do mainly focus on the 4.5mm BB rifles but throw in the group a very well made and ultra realistic Airsoft Rifle that was for sure in this years Top Five!
Next in this video I take a look at what I can say was my number one pick this year, the Crosman DPMS SBR Steel BB Rifle! When Crosman announced the Crosman DPMS SBR Steel BB Rifle at SHOT Show I was a bit surprised since Crosman is not known best for their Replica Airguns. Not only did Crosman decide to come out with an M4 Replica Air Rifle but they in fact made what I believe is the best one out there at least in 4.5mm Steel BB. It covers all the check boxes I am looking for. It’s very well made, shoots in semi and full auto with a working internal blowback bolt. All the mechanical parts work in the same way as a real M4 including being able to take apart the upper and lower receivers. I really hope Crosman took note of how popular this style of Airgun is and keeps making more product like the Crosman DPMS SBR Steel BB Rifle.
Another 4.5mm Steel BB M4 Replica that came out in 2018 is the Air Venturi HellBoy CO2 BB M4 Air Rifle. The HellBoy may not be as full featured as the Crosman DPMS SBR but it is worthy of this years Top Five. The Air Venturi HellBoy CO2 BB M4 Air Rifle is similar to how the Cybergun AK 47 BB rifles are built, using a magazine design that is basically the bulk of the working mechanism, it hold the CO2, CO2 Valve, BB’s, and even part of the trigger mechanism. The Air Venturi HellBoy CO2 BB M4 Air Rifle may not be as ultra realistic as the Crosman DPMS SBR but it’s an excellent full metal M4 Replica with decent shooting performance.
My only Airsoft contribution to this years list is the KWA LM4 RIS PTR Full Metal GBB Airsoft Rifle. I just love this Airsoft Rifle, It may not be the cheapest M4 GBB Airsoft Rifle out there but it sure is worth it. When you pick it up it just feels like quality and when you shoot it you know it’s quality, the shooting performance is awesome for a GBB Rifle. I barely noticed any cool down even when shooting off the entire magazine in full auto. If you want the most realistic M4 Air Rfile out there than the KWA LM4 RIS PTR Full Metal GBB Airsoft Rifle is going to be the one.
Last up to showcase in this years Favorite Air Rifles is the Umarex Legends MP40 CO2 BB Weathered Submachine Gun. I know the Umarex Legends MP40 CO2 BB Submachine Gun kinda came out last year but I did not get my hands on the Weathered version till only recently so I decided to put it in this years Top Five pick. The Umarex Legends MP40 CO2 BB Submachine Gun is another fine 4.5mm Steel BB Rifle in this case it’s more of a Submachine Gun. The Umarex Legends MP40 CO2 BB Submachine Gun also offers semi and full auto select fire and is a very close replace to the real steel MP40 in almost every way. The Weathered Finish and included Leather Sling really finish it off to make it super believable.
I am happy to say that the first Field Test using my new Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph went really well for me today. Perhaps I have found a new brand of Chronograph that will last longer than a year or so and give me reliable results that I can count on...
So other than that one chronograph reading error for the day which may have been an alignment issue on my part, the Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph performed excellent for me. I would also like to note that I was using the same Caldwell LED Lighting System I have been using in my Sea Can Indoor Airgun range which as expected fit perfectly onto their own Chronograph system and worked well.
When it comes to accuracy, match grade pellet pistols are going o be your best bet, not always the most powerful but they are sure good at driving pellets down range with super small groupings. The Air Venturi V10 Match Pellet Pistol is no exception to this statement and considering all that it offers it is fairly reasonably price for a match grade pellet pistol of this caliber.
Right off the bat I have to admit that my Chrony Chronograph stopped working, all I get is gibberish on the screen (Strike two for Chrony!). So I was not able to get any personal Chronograph results even though I even tried using my Airsoft Chronograph without success :( I did however watch a few other Youtube Video reviews where users tested out the FPS using a similar Chronograph and the Air Venturi V10 Match Pellet Pistol should get right around 390 fps using 7 grain lead pellets, this is close to the 400 fps claimed velocity.
Now for my shooting results that I was able to deliver on... I shot about 6-7 rounds downrange on a fresh paper target setup around 30 feet away. Sitting with a sandbag up front for stability, my Air Venturi V10 Match Pellet Pistol shot 6 out of the 7 rounds all in one hole that stretched out to about 1/4 of an inch. I did get one flyer that extended the grouping to about an inch, but this gun is a accurate no doubt even with my limited shooting skills.
The Trigger, sights and even the pistol grip on the Air Venturi V10 Match Pellet Pistol are fully adjustable so you can setup your Air Venturi V10 Match Pellet Pistol pretty much any way you like but it is made for a left handed shooter, at least the one I had tested out. The trigger is very light weigth out of the box and should be good to go for most people. It's also nice that you only need one pump for full power which saves you a bit of time in-between shots. All in the Air Venturi V10 Match Pellet Pistol is a great well priced match grade target pistol ready to drive virtually anything you point it at!
So how did the Air Venturi HellBoy M4 CO2 BB Rifle do? Unfortunately my Chrony Chronograph bit the dust, even though it I just bought it well I guess we are going back 2 years ago but still my luck with the Chrony Chronographs has not been good :( I thought it was perhaps the battery but when I switched it out for a new one I still got the same gibberish on screen!
So I resorted to using my Airsoft Chronograph which is not ideal for testing our steel BB's and or Lead Pellets. I did get some results which gave me a three shot average of 437 feet per second, this was after shooting off a full magazine and I was having some slight CO2 leakage with my Air Venturi HellBoy M4 CO2 BB Rifle? Perhaps a bad valve or seal?
When I was playing around with m y Air Venturi HellBoy M4 CO2 BB Rifle outside shooting clay pigeons at a variety of distances I found it to be pretty accurate finding my targets most of the time even out to 50 feet or more. So was not too surprised when I shot a nice 1 inch 10 round grouping using a mounted red dot scope to help a little bit.
All in all the Air Venturi HellBoy M4 CO2 BB Rifle is a pretty slick Replica Rifle to own, I will be comparing it to the Crosman DPMS SBR now that one has arrived, they both have pros and cons so it will be interesting to see which one is going to be my favorite at the end of the day but I can say if you can own both then go for it! And don't forget to watch my Table Top Review for the Air Venturi HellBoy M4 CO2 BB Rifle where I go into some more detail and show you around up close.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Air Venturi HellBoy M4 CO2 BB Rifle is a double action only trigger since there is no blowback action to set the trigger in single action mode. So it will be a bit heavier than a true single action trigger. That said the trigger is not bad at all and can be activated very quickly for tons of fast action shooting or at least until your 18 rounds are all gone :) I would say the trigger pull is between light and medium with a medium pull length and not that much take-up at the beginning.
Accuracy: So far I have only played around with the Air Venturi HellBoy M4 CO2 BB Rifle shooting at clay pigeons from various distances and it was surprisingly accurate for me off hand shooting like this. I could easily hit a clay pigeon from about 50 feet away with most shots. Watch my "Having Fun with the Air Venturi HellBoy M4 CO2 BB Rifle" video if you want to see how it did. In terms of velocity, I have seen other reviews that show it getting pretty close the 495 fps claimed so until I do my actual Field Test Shooting Video we will have to go on this info.
Build Quality: The Air Venturi HellBoy M4 CO2 BB Rifle is made in China, some people will not like that but I found it to be very well built in general, fit and finish are as good if not better than any Taiwanese airgun I have reviewed so quality control in the factory must be good. You are going to find metal parts where you would expect them to be on a real M4 (AR) like the receiver, barrel, buffer tube, magazine, carry handle, forward assist, charging handle, sling mounts, safety and magazine release. Plastic parts are going to be the rear stock, hand guard, and pistol grip.
Realism: The Air Venturi HellBoy M4 CO2 BB Rifle is a 1 to 1 replica of the M4 or AR platform and even has some interchangeable parts with real AR or M4 like the hand guard and rear stock. You can even take this gun down into the two halves, upper and lower which makes for barrel cleaning or BB jam removal pretty easy. Even though there is no blowback action or internal bolt, you can pull the charging handle back which opens the dust cover just like the real deal. Other working moving parts are the magazine release, selector switch, forward assist and adjustable rear stock.
Pros:
Great to have another full size Rifle available to purchase in a BB gun version.
Metal where it is expected and good overall weight. (Metal receiver, barrel, magazine)
Can be field stripped, carry handle is removable.
Can swap out hand guard and rear stock with real steel AR parts.

I think the Air Venturi HellBoy M4 CO2 BB Rifle is a super addition to the replica rifle lineup. I know we all wish it had blowback operation and shot in full auto mode too but there are trade-offs here and you can still have boat loads of fun shooting the Air Venturi HellBoy M4 CO2 BB Rifle even in semi auto only mode. The fact that it does not have blowback allows for some generous fps velocity and more shots per CO2. It looks really great, feels really great and shoots really great all in a mostly metal build which is what everyone has been asking for and at a reasonable price. I think the Air Venturi HellBoy M4 CO2 BB Rifle is a total winner and recommend it 100%. You will not be disappointed!
It's been a while since I made a just for fun shooting video, especially a multi-camera kinda tactical shooting video. Well the weather was nice, I had the perfect CO2 Air Rifle for the job, the Air Venturi HellBoy, and I need to keep things simple since I am in contest prep for a fitness show I am doing this weekend and being so low on calories and high on activity messes with the brain a little bit which makes it hard to focus.
This all made for the perfect opportunity to get outside the the Replica Airguns indoor Sea Can Airgun Shooting Range and shoot my Air Venturi HellBoy CO2 BB M4 at some different targets.

It's been a great year for Replica Airguns and I wanted to share with everyone some of my favorites that I reviewed this year. In this Vimeo Video I show some of my top Replica Airgun picks for 2016 and talk a little bit about each one and what I like about it.

First off, this will be the last video where I try and use my Chrony Chronograph to determine the fps velocity for one of my airguns. It's time has come and I am officially retiring my Chrony or should I say setting aside for later destruction by means of many rounds of airgun ammo fired at it... I just need to locate and order a replacement solution, perhaps I will reach out to Chrony and see if they can help me out since they should really look into restoring my faith and many of my viewers faith in this product ;) If the airgun I am testing has blowback operation then I generally also record some slow motion video and place it in the end of the video while I am talking it out.
Moving on with my Field Test for the Air Venturi ISSC M22 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. If you have not already checkout my Table Top Review for it then make sure to do so for some close up video and the main features and benefits.
As per normal my Field Test Shooting video is composed of a Chronograph test which in this case resulted in pretty much no data other than one recorded shot which may or may not even be accurate? I also step back 30 feet and shoot 10 rounds on a paper target with my Air Venturi ISSC M22 CO2 Blowback BB Pisto to figure out how close of a grouping I can get for the sake of accuracy purposes. I do us a somewhat rested shooting position which allows me to in most cases get pretty decent results with less human factor involved.
In terms of FPS for the Air Venturi ISSC M22 CO2 Blowback BB Pisto, all we can really go on are the claimed fps specifications which are 400, I would say based on how quickly rounds get to the target and how hard they hit that 400 fps is about right, perhaps even a little more? Maybe once I get my new Chronograph I will have to revisit this gun and see what it can do.
Accuracy wise I was able to fire 10 rounds within a nice 2 inch grouping, they did shoot a bit left for me but the good news is that the Air Venturi ISSC M22 CO2 Blowback BB Pisto has an adjustable rear sight for windage so this can be corrected for each user. The blowback Action is pretty hard on this gun, very quick and snappy, it is also fairly loud when using a new CO2. There is a fair bit of trigger take-up since the first stage of the trigger pull also chambers a round into the barrel form the full size drop out magazine. Once you get to the break point of the trigger there is a bit of extra tension followed by a distinct release. It may not be the smoothest trigger I have used but it does work just fine.
Overall the Air Venturi ISSC M22 CO2 Blowback BB Pisto has a lot going for it, good looks, blowback operation with a full size drop out magazine, an adjustable rear sight, decent power and accuracy and it is an excellent replica for the real steel ISSC M22.
In this Review Video I focus on the shooting performance of the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle to find out what kind of FPS we can get out of it and exactly how accurate the MPX is from 30 feet back using a fairly stable semi rested shooting position. I'll tell you right away my Chrony Chronograph has officially called it quits and I will be looking at replacing it for future Field Test Shooting videos. Lucky for us Sig sent me their real world inhouse testing using both 5.25 grain high velocity pellets and standard 8.18 grain lead pellets.
Here are the average results Sig achieved from each pellet type shooting an 8 shot string.
5.25 Grain Alloy High Velocity Pellets:

Energy in Foot pounds - 2.98
Energy in Joules - .1257
Temperature at time of testing - 71 Degrees Fahrenheit
8.18 Grain Standard Lead Lead Pellets:

In terms of accuracy, this rifle is made to shoot at much further out ranges than 30 feet but I was still able to get on what kind of a grouping is possible with the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle. I first shot 10 rounds at my paper target and then had a quick look. I was able to get a nice 1 inch grouping which I am sure I could improve upon with some more shooting time with the rifle. I was also not using a magnified scope, just a standard red dot. I then shot the remaining 20 rounds to finish off the 30 round belt fed magazine and for the most part the majority of the pellets all fell within the first 10 shot grouping and I did rip these shots off pretty quickly, about as fast as I could pull the trigger that is.
All in all the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle is a good performer, I am very happy with FPS form an 8 grain pellet consistently hitting 450 FPS, that's plenty fast enough to shoot all kinds of targets even out at further ranges. Accuracy was also consistent even under rushed shooting so I can imagine the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle would make a great trainer for tactical shooting situations. I thing Sig has a real winner here, great looks, excellent quality and good performance all at a reasonable cost. I just hope we get them here in Canada soon...

If you remember last year around August, I entered a Fitness contest where I competed in Men's Physique. Well I did fairly well and placed 1st in two divisions, Masters and Open. What this means is I am now qualified to compete in my local Provincial Finals this year which is coming up in less than two weeks. The event is called the Vancouver Pro Am and it will be held in Vancouver BC Canada.
To get to the point, my contest prep especially the last couple of week is fairly taxing on me physically and mentally, it also takes up some of my time. So my videos may not be as regular and they may not be as put together since my mind is not working 100% right now due to the lack of food and carbs I am not eating ;) Anyway I will do my best! Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle is actually pretty decent when you consider the first part of the trigger pull is used to advance the belt fed 30 round magazine. One would think that there would be a lot of added friction from the belt but this does not seem to be the case. There is some internal blowback action going on but it is only used to cock the internal hammer/striker which does lesson the overall amount of trigger pull required. The trigger pull is shorter than expected with all that is going on and it's not overly heavy so quick and predictable action shooting is very possible with the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle.
Accuracy: So far I have not done my official Field Test Shooting Video for the MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle but I did have the chance to get out and shoot some rounds down range at my Sig provided Quad Shooting Gallery that I had setup about 35-40 feet away. Even though I did not have my red dot all perfectly sighted in I was still able to hit the smallish metal targets fairly well using the Sig Sauer MPX ASP. In terms of velocity you can expect from the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle, 600 fps is a bit optimistic. Sig did send me a real world fps performance spread sheet they had conducted using both 5.25 grain alloy pellets and 8.18 grain lead pellets shooting 8 rounds and averaging out the fps. The 5.25 grain pellets averaged in at just over 500 fps while the heavier 8.18 grain pellets came in with an average of just under 450 fps. Pretty much what I would expect from a shorter barreled CO2 rifle.
Build Quality: The build quality for Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle is excellent, you can tell Sig Sauer had a lot of hands on in the design and production of this Pellet Shooting Air Rifle! The materials used and fit and finish are top notch and the mechanical function again is really good, I am kind of amazed at how well their belt fed rotary magazine design works in terms of feeding and operation. So far I have not experienced any pellet feeding problems at all using both lead and alloy flathead pellets.
Realism: The Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle is for the most part designed to be used as a side by side optional training aid for the real steel Sig Sauer MPX Rifle. Sig wanted the pellet version to look and feel as close as posable and Sig has done a good job with this. Other than the lessor recoil and noise factor, the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle works and shoots much the same as a real steel Sig Sauer MPX Rifle.
Pros:
Has to be the best semi auto pellet rifle replica I have seen and shot to date.
Near perfect replica of the real steel Sig Sauer MPX including licensing and trademarks.
Awesome build quality, lots of metal parts and the nylon parts are true to form and very solid.
Rifle has been tested to shoot over 15,000 rounds reliably.
30 round full size belt fed magazine has super high capacity and works flawlessly.
Decent fps performance, about what I would expect from a multi-shot CO2pellet shooter and totally usable.
Trigger feels really good, not too long or to heavy and very consistent feel on every shot.
Fully adjustable pop up front and rear sights.
Lots of rails for your pick of sight options and other add on accessories.
Very accurate with it’s 8 inch rifled barrel.
Cons:
Rear stock is none adjustable so the gun may feel kind of cramped for larger shooters.
Internal blowback action does not advance the belt fed magazine but does cock the internal hammer.
FPS claim of 600 fps seems a bit optimistic compared to real world testing.

I have been waiting to get my hands on the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle for some time now and the wait has been worth it for sure. There are really no other guns out there right now other than perhaps the Umarex CX4 Storm that compare to the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle and even so I feel the Sig Sauer MPX is by far the better of the two CO2 Air Rifles. OK so the MPX does not really come close to hitting 600 fps but did you really believe that in the first place? Still consistent 450 fps from a decent grain lead pellet is about what you would expect from a short barreled CO2 rifle. If you do want more fps then look at the MCX with over double the barrel length of the MPX, this will easily get you an additional 100+fps for those of you who thrive on velocity performance. I am fine with 450-500 fps since this is all that is needed to accuracy shoot and nock over most targets at a variety of ranges.

I was excited when I first heard that Sig Sauer was coming out with their own line of pellet shooting airguns and that was about 2 years ago! So it's been a long time coming for me to finally get my hands on one of Sigs own in-house Airguns. Sig Sauer was kind enough to send me three of their ASP (Advanced Sport Pellet) airguns, one of which arrived last week, the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle. I will also be receiving Sigs P250 and P226 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistols for review when they are sent to me hopefully soon.
I will be performing my standard Table Top and Field Test Shooting videos for all of the Sig Sauer Airguns being sent to me but wanted to get out this preview video for the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle to give you a little info on it right away and also let you know what's coming up in terms of Sig Sauer product reviews.
In this preview video I do a little bit of fun backyard shooting simply because I could not resist having a go with this awesome air rifle any longer and needed to shoot it. I was not disappointed! Every pellet I placed in the 30 round belt fed magazine fired flawlessly from the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle. I used both Sigs high velocity 5.25 grain alloy pellets and some flathead 7 grain RWS lead pellets and all my ammo shot well in the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle. I have not done a Chronograph test so far for the Sig MPX but can say the pellets where getting to my Sig Sauer Quad Shooting Gallery Target in no time and I had placed a good 35-40 feet away. Once I figured out my sights I was able to continently hit what looked like pretty small targets from where I was standing, this was no surprise since the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Riflehas an 8 inch rifled barrel.
Sig has done some real world pellet fps testing on their own using both light weight 5.25 grain pellets and heavier 8.18 grain pellets and the numbers for an 8 shot average came in at around 505 fps using 5.25 grain pellets and around 450 fps using 8.18 grain pellets. That's plenty enough power to rip into your targets setup even further down range.
My Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle is the open sight only version but you can get one already paired with Sigs Red Dot system or add your own sighting system, since there are plenty of rails to add just about any kind of accessory to the Sig Sauer MPX ASP .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle.

Trigger Pull: Trigger pull on the John Wayne Duke Colt SAA BB and Pellet Revolver is the best I have ever come across in an airgun. Being that these Single Action Army Revolvers are single action only, most of the work is done while you pre-cock the hammer. The trigger pull is under 2 pounds and has virtually no take up with a crisp release. I love the ratcheting sound as you pull back the hammer just like using a real SAA Revolver!
Accuracy: I have not yet tested these John Wayne Duke Colt SAA BB and Pellet Revolvers so far but expect the BB version to perform for the most part just like the Umarex only versions I tested previously. Here are my notes from my previous testing:
"I tested both 4.5mm steel BB's and 4.7mm Lead ball BB's in the Umarex Colt Single Action Army Shell Loading BB Revolver. With the Steel 4.5mm BB's I shot just under a 2 inch 6 shot grouping when shooting from a 30 foot distance using a semi rested position (Sand bag up front, standing in the back). The shots where pretty well center hitting the paper target just a little bit high, they did seem to stray a little more left and right rather then up and down. When I switch ammo to the 4.7mm Lead BB's I got a similar 2 inch grouping but they hit the target a bit lower and tended to shoot tighter from side to side with more variation up and down, perhaps because the lead BB's did not seem to shoot at a vary consistent velocity. My Chronograph testing for the Steel BB's was right around 400 fps while the Lead BB's being heavier shot a bit slower at just under 300 fps."
Build Quality: The John Wayne Duke Colt SAA BB and Pellet Revolvers have a mostly all metal construction other than the plastic grips and any seals. The fit and finish is excellent with a great overall weight in the hand. Whether you get the Nickel or Weathered version. The mechanical action of the hammer and trigger feels just like it would on a real single action army revolver.
Realism: In terms of replicating a real steel Colt Single Action Army Revolver, these guns are absolutely amazing replicas. It's really hard to tell the airgun version from the real steel version, except for the smaller in diameter shells and the discreet safety switch located under the frame. Even the barrel is nicely recessed and has some fake rifling twists in it to give the appearance of a large caliber round. The CO2 is well hidden with the Allen key built into the handle so no ugly CO2 screw tab hanging down.
Still the best airgun reproduction of the Single Action Army Revolver, a very accurate replica of the real steel old west version.
Recessed barrel has the look of a large caliber bullet.
Great weight and feel in the hand.
Shell loading design that loads from the back so no need to remove shells if you wish not to.
Hammer and trigger action is about perfect, no take-up, very crisp and super light (under 2 pounds).
Finish on both the Nickel and Blued is very nice.
Colt and John Wayne Duke licensing.
Very well concealed CO2 with built in Allen key.
Discreet safety location.
If you prefer pellets over steel BB, now you have the option.
Cons:
Still has the warming instruction on the right side of the barrel but not super obvious especially on the Nickel version.
Real version would shoot 45 caliber, dummy shells are actual closer to 357 so a bit smallish.
Wood grips to me look a little fake up close but the John Wayne emblem kind of makes up for it.

Shell loading BB and Pellet revolvers have been out for a while now and have changed the way many of us feel about airgun revolvers. Airgun revolvers used to be kind of overlooked because they where not the most exciting replica airguns out there but now we have not only the new Dan Wesson 715 shell loading revolvers but also these Colt Single Action Revolvers with Colt and John Wayne Duke licensing on them available in both BB and pellet shooting versions! There is something special about these old cowboy day classic revolver that makes them so elegant and just a real work of art you can not only own and look at but also take out and shoot whenever the spirit moves you to do so!

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Air Venturi ISSC M22 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is pretty decent overall. Unlike the original 22LR ISSC M22 that is single action only, the BB version shoots on both single and double action. When shooting in double action, the trigger pull is a little bit heavier since the hammer is not pre-cocked but shooting in single action does require full trigger pull length since the first stage of the trigger pull chambers a BB into the breach area. The second stage when shooting in single action releases the hammer.
Accuracy: I have only shot the Air Venturi ISSC M22 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol briefly, and only using a free standing position shooting at some pop cans. I did notice the Air Venturi ISSC M22 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol shot a little bit low at 20 feet but was well centered side to side. The BB's seemed to travel pretty quick and the blowback action was snappy and allowed for some pretty decent rapid fire action. I will be following up this table top review with a field test shooting video down the road.
Build Quality: I was impressed with this pistol right out of the box, being an owner of the real steel 22LR version, I was actually rather surprised at how accurate of a reproduction in terms of build quality the Air Venturi ISSC M22 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol was. The BB ISSC M22 has a good weight and feel to it and metal and plastic parts in pretty much all the same places you would find them in the 22LR shooting version. The plastic frame feels solid and well made while the metal slide has very close tolerances and the black satin finish looks good and seems to be wearing pretty well.
Realism: Again as an owner of the first generation real steel 22LR ISSC M22, and placing these guns side by side, they are nearly undistinguishable other than the changes Glock had ISSC make to the current versions so yes there are some cosmetic differences between my first generation M22 and the current version of this replica BB ISSC M22. That aside if you are an owner of the 22LR ISSC M22, then you are going to have to have one of these Air Venturi ISSC M22 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol to go along with it for even cheaper cost per shot then 22LR ammo. In terms of working parts, everything is the same except for the de-cocker since the BB model de-cocker is moulded into the slide and none functioning. I wish the Air Venturi ISSC M22 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol was easily filed stripable but I guess you can not have everything :)

All in all this may just be my new favorite blowback BB pistol, I obviously like the design since I already own the 22LR version and it does look a lot like a Glock so that may be a benefit to you Glock lovers out there. The Air Venturi ISSC M22 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol really does seem to have a lot going for it... Blowback operation, a full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and BB's, decent fps and accuracy, an adjustable rear sight, working parts where they are supposed to work on the real steel version and that Glock look and feel but without the worries of Glock coming after you for violations of their copywrite since this is a licensed ISSC M22 replica.
