In this Field Test Shooting Video for the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle, I checkout the velocity and power here in the Replica Airguns Indoor Airgun Shooting Range, to find out if the real world velocity is in the ballpark of the claimed 450+ fps velocity by KJWorks. I also shoot 10 rounds into a paper target from a distance of 30 feet to see how accurate of a grouping I can get. Starting first with my velocity test, I loaded up the magazine with propane gas along with a full magazine of .20 gram Airsoft BB’s. The temperature was around 20 degrees Celsius or 68 degrees Fahrenheit, so not super warm or cold, in warmer conditions I would expect slightly higher fps from the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle. KJWorks claims 450+ fps and my testing came pretty close to this with my five Chronograph readings hitting: 468, 451, 435, 436, 426 fps. Averaging 443 fps.
Next I made sure I still had 10 Airsoft rounds in the magazine and placed a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and shot all 10 rounds into the target using a semi rested shooting position, with my hands on a sand bag up front and sitting on a stool in the back. This allows me fairly stable shooting with less human factor. I did have to aim a few inches low on the center of the target as the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle does shoot a bit high at 30 feet. 7 out of the 10 rounds hit all within about 2 inches of each other and then three rounds came out of the group increasing the 10 shot grouping from 2 inches to around 5 inches. I am wondering if perhaps I had some miss-formed Airsoft BB’s in the bunch as the shots that came out, really did come out a lot compared to the tighter 2 inch 7 shot main grouping.
Overall the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle performed well, the velocity was right on the mark and was fairly consistent dropping off a bit as the Rifle cooled down from the gas. Accuracy was very good side to side but up and down I did notice more variation. The trigger is a double action only trigger so it is a bit longer and heavier than a real steel Ruger MK1 that is known for its beautiful short and light Single Action Trigger. Still the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle performed well and I think with some good quality Airsoft BB’s, perhaps even a bit heavier than I used in this test, one could improve the accuracy at range and really be able to use this for some longer range outdoor Airsoft games. As it is a fairly light and short Rifle it would make for a super easy to pack around sniper rifle option.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle is double action only which will make it a bit longer and heavier than the real steal Ruger MK1 as it is Single Action Only. The trigger is smooth however and does have a nice satisfying click to it that sounds like a firing pin being release. The unfortunate part is that the real steel version has an amazing single action only trigger so the contrast between the Airsoft and 22LR version may make this gun not as practical is an optional training tool if you own the 22LR version.
Accuracy: This part of the review is yet to be determined as I have not done my Field Test or Shooting Test for this carbine, so stay posted for my official Field Shooting Test. For now you can watch my Ruger MK I Gas version Field Test Shooting Review to get an idea on how the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle version should perform, as they are very similar with the Carbine version having a longer barrel and shoulder stock added to it with should increase the velocity and perhaps the accuracy a bit.
Build Quality: KJWorks as usual distributes quality Airguns, the fit and finish on the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle is very good and there is good use of metal where it needs to be like with the upper receiver, the inner and outer barrel, the bolt and other internal mechanical parts, the trigger, the safety, the rear fully adjustable sight and the full size drop out metal magazine that holds the Gas and the Airsoft BB's.
Realism: The KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle is based on real steel Ruger MK1 and looks very close to it for the most part. There is no blowback operation or bolt operation so that means that only a double action trigger is possible, this is a bit unfortunate since the real Ruger MK1 has an absolutely beautiful smooth and light single action trigger. On the positive side you can field strip the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle just like the real version but you will need to remove the rear stock that covers the area you need to get to to field strip it.
Pros:
If you own a real Ruger 22LR you will be use to the design layout.
Adjustable rear sight for windage and elevation.
Metal hop-up for backspin tuning.
Full size all metal drop out magazine that holds the Airsoft BB’s and gas.
Satisfying trigger sound, sounds like a real firing pin a bit, not clanky like many other Airguns.
Full Metal upper and barrel.
Metal rear sight, bolt, trigger and magazine.
Non blowback helps with velocity and gas efficiency.
Field strips like original MK Series (will need to remover rear stock).

No blowback so longer DAO trigger not like the real steel Ruger MK 1.

The KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle is really just a modified MK1 Pistol by adding a longer barrel and rear shoulder stock to the pistol grip. I guess it is a good use of an already popular pistol design to give us a light weight and somewhat compact Airsoft sniper rifle for Airsoft games as it does have a fairly high velocity claim. Because of the high 450+ fps I would not recommend it to anyone playing in close quarters as it could injure other players so keep that in mind. If you are looking for a lower cost and fairly compact Sniper Rifle for some outdoor shooting, then it might be just the right pick for that. I am hoping my upcoming Field Test Shooting Video showcases it nicely so keep checking back for that Review Video down the road a bit.

In this Update Video we take a look at some BB and Airsoft pistols I have already reviewed but in a slightly different form factor. They are all Umarex Legends pistols but two of them (The P.08 and M712) are WWII Special Editions versions with that aged weathered look to them.

In this Classic Legends Airguns comparison video I look at a number of different Classic or Legendary BB Airguns and compare them to each other to determine which one I personally feel is the best . During this Field Test Shooting Video Review of the Gletcher P08 Luger CO2 Blowback BB Pistol, I test the actual real world velocity using my Chronograph and then conduct an accuracy test using paper targets from a controlled shooting position.
I shot 5 rounds through my Chrony Chronograph and got an average of 374 fps which was pretty decent for a blowback CO2 BB pistol on a not so warm early spring day (Around 10 degrees Celsius) I could see this Gletcher P08 BB Pistol getting around 400 fps on a warm summer day. I should be able to get around 80-100 shots from a single CO2 cartridge.
Next I performed my accuracy test from 30 feet back in a semi rested position, I was able to get a 1-5 to 2 inch grouping with 10 shots. The Gletcher P08 Luger CO2 Blowback BB Pistol does have a single action trigger which makes the release smooth and light but there is a bit of a sticky rough early trigger stage where a BB is loaded. When shooting fast this will not be as noticeable but when slowing down your shooting for accuracy it is noticeable for sure. I didn't seem to effect my accuracy all that much which was nice and I was able to get a pretty well centered grouping (just a tad to the left) with the none adjustable sights.
This Field test of the Gletcher P08 Luger BB Pistol goes to show that a blowback CO2 BB pistol can have both good feet per second performance and accuracy.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Gletcher P08 Luger is medium pull for a SAO style trigger, it has a fairly shot take-up with a nice release point. The trigger definitely looks the parts with it's crescent shape and exposed spring. I would expect this pistol to behave well in the target accuracy department, at least the trigger will not be the problem.
Accuracy: I have not done any preliminary shooting so far with this Gletcher P08 due to some pretty awful weather conditions in my area. We will have to see how well the Gletcher P08 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol performs in terms of accuracy and velocity once I get out and do a real shooting test with it
Build Quality: The Gletcher P08 CO2 BB Pistol is really well made overall, pretty much the entire pistol is metal except for the grips of course and has a really nice weight to it. The finish looks really nice and the fit is good, the toggle feels nice and tight and all the mechanical parts function smoothly.
Realism: With the exception of the metal stick magazine, the Gletcher seems to have all it's other parts in order, even a working Toggle with Blowback, although the toggle does not lock back on the last shot! The Gletcher P08 certainly looks the part of a Luger P08, Gletcher has hidden 4.5mm the inner barrel by recessing it little bit and the CO2 screw is well hidden under the magazine. It would have been nice to have been able to field strip the Gletcher P08 but perhaps people will get into less trouble losing parts without this ability.
Pros:
Mostly all metal, nice and heavy at 2 pounds.
CO2 is well hidden.
Recessed barrel adds to realism.
21 round all metal stick magazine.
Realistic blowback toggle operation.
Lots of working parts.
True a very realistic SAO trigger design that seems to have a nice light trigger pull.

This is the third Gletcher pistol I have reviewed and I am really liking the products from Gletcher! I like that they offer some very unique Airguns that many other companies are not addressing. My Gletcher P08 does have some competition from Umarex and KWC but it has its own selling points for sure, I figure it fits in nicely right between the Umarex and KWC P08's in terms of offering realism and practicality. So now we have a few choices when it comes to purchasing a 4.5mm CO2 BB firing P08 Luger, choice is a good thing!

Yes! Some new guns for you, and that's always a good thing for everyone, especially me since I get to play with them! I have been waiting a while to get my hands on some of the .177 caliber pellet shooting versions of the Dan Wesson Revolvers. I was actually introduced to them nearly a year ago at the last SHOT Show back in January of 2014! That's a long wait for sure...
The Pellet version Dan Wesson's look really good, the quality of the pellet shells is top notch and even the redesigned inner rifled barrels look to be very high quality. ASG did not just do a quick part swap, they really though out how they wanted everything to fit together. I am looking forward to seeing how well they shoot and will be Field Testing them both together so we can see how the barrel lengths play an effect on power and accuracy.
Next up we have two Gletcher pistols, both are classic semi auto shooters from the past, the Gletcher TT which is a Replica of the Russian Tokarev, and the Gletcher P08 which is a Luger copy. Both pistols are blowback and shoot 4.5mm Steel BB's.
Both pistols incorporate single action only triggers, metal stick magazines and working safeties, a real steel Tokarev normally would not have a safety other than the half cock hammer, Gletcher added in a discreet switch style safety on the right side of their TT. Again, I look forward to shooting both of these blowback pistols as soon as the weather picks up!

Basically in this YouTube video, I shoot the 4.5mm Steel BB version of the KWC P-08 Luger head to head against the Airsoft Version to see how they compare in terms of Feet Per Second speed and Accuracy from30 feet away from a paper target using a semi rested shooting stance. As expected the heavier 4.5mm Steel BB's shot a bit slower but did seem to have a slight advantage in the accuracy department.

I also show off the Umarex TDP 45 Tac which is the tactical version of the TDP 45 and comes with the additions of a threaded barrel that houses a removable mock silencer, a sight rail for adding a red dot scope and a removable laser. All of this for around $60 so great value for sure!
I also wanted to revisit the Umarex PX4 Storm Blowback Pellet Pistol since I reviewed this gun way back and my personal Umarex PX4 Storm was one of the first to enter Canada and as I saw with the Umarex CP99 Compact, Umarex made some slight tweaks to it and improved the overall performance. So perhaps a side by side comparisons in order, first generation versus present generation.

In this official Field Test Shooting Video, I do my standard Chronograph test where I shoot a series of .25 gram 6mm Plastic Airsoft BB's using a brand new CO2 cartridge to see what kind of real word Feet Per Second performance I can get out of the KWC P-08 Luger CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol. On this medium temperature day I averaged 335 fps which is a nice velocity for most Airsoft matches. The temperature was fairly cool at 14 Celsius or 57 Fahrenheit.
During my Accuracy Shooting Test, I set myself up 30 feet away using a semi-rested stance (Sand bag up front, standing in the back). I did have to adjust my aim point at the lowest ring on the target to get my shots near the center. The results where not my best for the KWC P-08 Luger CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol, or perhaps this pistols best performance, resulting in a 10 shot grouping in the 4 inch range. Pretty sure this Airsoft pistol can do better!
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed shooting the KWC P-08 Luger CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol, the trigger is nice, short and light and the blowback action reminded me a lot of the more sluggish blowback you get from a 1911 styled pistol. You can't help but notice the toggle popping up with every shot which can be distracting at first but it sure comes in handy when it locks back on the last shot clearly indicating that the pistol is empty of rounds. The KWC P-08 Luger CO2 Blowback Pistol is for sure an Airsoft replica any war pistol enthusiast will want to have.
Action: Semi & full auto, single action only with full blowback.

Ammunition Capacity: 15 round full size drop out metal magazine.
FPS: 366+.
Trigger Pull: The Single Action Only trigger pull on the KWC P-08 Luger CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is really nice, it has a super short take-up with a very smooth light release. There really is no reset since the entire action is so short so quick follow shots are fast and predictable. Of course since this is a single action only trigger with no external hammer, you will need to pull the toggle back to chamber a BB and pre-cock the hammer for the first shot, the Blowback action will do this automatically for you on follow-up shots until the magazine is empty and the toggle locks back.
Accuracy: I did find the KWC P-08 Luger shot a bit high for me (about 3 inches at 30 feet out) and since the sights are nonadjustable, I would have to hold low on the target to make up for this but the KWC P-08 did shot well centered horizontally. Over all the 10 shot grouping at 30 feet out was very good with the bulk of the shots staying within a 1 inch pattern and three shot coming outside stretching it out to about 2.5 inches. In terms of velocity, I decided to use .25 gram Airsoft BB's rather than .20 gram BB's and still shot a respectable 340fps using a new CO2 cartridge. The weather was not overly warm at only 10c or 50f so on a warmer day using lighter .20 gram BB's this Airsoft pistol will ht the 366+ fps with no problem.
Build Quality: The KWC P-08 Luger CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is well built being that it is pretty much entirely metal. It weighs in at a beefy 1.84 pounds which is very close to the 1.92 pounds of the genuine real steel Luger. The only plastic to speak of would be in the grips and also the gas tube. As is with pretty much all KWC guns, they are powder coated so the finish looks great but can wear off in areas that protrude and or see metal on metal friction.
Realism: The KWC P-08 Luger is a really accurate replica of the actual Luger P-08 with as far as I can tell all the same working parts and ability to field strip like the real steel version. I did find the finish to be perhaps a bit dark, I would have liked to have seen a more grey or bluish tint to it to get the KWC Luger P-08 more in line with the blued finish found on the real version.
Nice heavy blowback toggle that locks back on last shot.
Lots of metal and good overall weight, similar to real steel version

Very good replicas of a real Luger P-08 with all working parts.

Another great classic ultra realistic pistol from KWC! It's really nice to see more and more of these classic pistols showing up and from multiple manufacturers. I liked the Umarex version which was all metal and a good overall Luger replica, KWC took it to the next level by adding blowback and a full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and BB's and by giving us the option of buying the KWC Luger P-08 in either 4.5mm Steel BB or 6mm Plastic Airsoft versions. If you're a Luger fan looking for ultra realism, this is the one to go with!

I have some really new guns from KWC for you today, so new that we don't even stock them yet (hopefully soon) and one of then is an un-marked and un-branded sample version that didn't even come in a proper box. Pretty sure this will be the first YouTube video review of it!
It's great that we are starting to see more of the classic older guns, it really give you a chance to appreciate some of the original designs that helped the development of the more modern guns we now have today.
In this preview-review video we take a quick look at the KWC P-08 Luger and KWC Mauser C96 CO2 powered Blowback Airsoft pistols. I will be doing a full table top and field test shooting video for each gun so make sure to check back for them later. I even do a quick comparison to the same style 4.5mm BB pistol offerings from Umarex I already reviewed, the Umarex P-08 and Umarex C96.
Both the KWC P-08 Luger and C96 Mauser are pretty much all metal with full drop out magazines that hold the CO2 and the 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's, the KWC luger holds 15 rounds while the KWC Mauser holds 19 rounds. Since both Airsoft pistols are full metal they come in nice and heavy with the C96 Mauser weighing just a hair over 3 pounds and the P-08 just a bit under 2 pounds. Both pistols have full blowback operation with very nice single action only triggers and while the P-08 shoots in semi-auto only the C96 can select fire in semi and full-auto modes.
According to the KWC product brochure, both of these new classic CO2 blowback pistols will be offered in 4.5mm Steel BB and 6mm Plastics Airsoft versions. As of right now we do not have any in stock as we are planning an order based on these two samples. We like what we see and will be bringing them in to our Canada and possible US online store so stay posted as once we have verification of an order on rout, we will be offering a pre-sale option so you can reserve yours.

In this Field Test Shooting Reviews I test out the ASG Ruger MK 1 Gas Airsoft Pistol and put five rounds through my Chronograph to find out what the average fps is using .20 gram BB's and propane gas. ASG claims a pretty conservative 328 fps, I was expecting much higher and got much higher even on this rather mild fall BC day.
I shoot the ASG Ruger MK 1 Gas 6mm Airsoft Pistol from the 20 foot range since I hadn't done a pre-test of any sort. While shooting from a semi rested position at 20 feet back, I was able to get a 2.5 inch 10 shot group that kind of separated its self into two sub groups, one nicely centered right in the bulls eye and then another group of four that drifted a bit high and to the right a bit. The trigger pull on the ASG Ruger MK 1 Gas 6mm Airsoft Pistol is double action only and kind of on the long side but it is very smooth and has a nice satisfying metallic click to it, I found it pretty easy to shoot.
If you are a Ruger 22LR shooter than you may just want to get your hands on one of these and have the freedom of being able to shoot it just about anywhere!

For now all I can go on is some feedback from others that have claimed very high fps and excellent accuracy, I am looking forward to finding out for myself!
Build Quality: ASG as usually only distributes quality guns, the fit and finish is very good and there is use of metal where it needs to be like with the internal mechanical parts, the trigger, the safety, the rear fully adjustable sight and the full size drop out metal magazine that holds the gas and the Airsoft BB's.
Realism: The ASG MK 1 is based on a combination of the Ruger MK I-III, it looks mostly like the Mark III since the arrel is fairly stout but it does not have the typical taper near the charging handle area. Still it resembles a Ruger 22LR pistol very much. There is no blowback or charging handle operation so that means that only a double action trigger is possible, this is a bit unfortunate sine the real Ruger Mark III has an absolutely smooth and light single action trigger.
If you own a real Ruger 22LR it will be nice to have for some backyard or basement shooting.

Metal trigger, metal safety and metal rear sight.
Very satisfying trigger sound, sounds like a real firing pin :)
Have heard it is really powerful and accurate - Yet to be determined…
Cons:
Fair amount of plastic but has an OK weigh to it.
No blowback (Would have allowed for a true single action trigger)
Safely is kind of heavy to operate but may break in over time.

I think it may come down to how this ASG Ruger MK 1 Airsoft Pistol performs before I can give it my total thumbs up, I really wish it had a single action trigger but for a double action trigger it feels pretty good and I love the sounds of the internal hammer dropping. The fully adjustable sights mean that if this gun performs well in terms of accuracy then being able to dial it in to the bulls-eye will make it that much more enjoyable to shoot. Overall I like this pistol, the ergonomics are exactly like the real Ruger Mark III and even though much of the external build is plastic, it still has a good weight to it due to the all metal magazine and other internal metal parts.

Getting back to some more gun videos! In this Vimeo Video I take a look at some lower cost 4.5mm BB and 6mm Airsoft pistols. The two ASG guns coming in at right around $60 and the Umarex BB pistols right at around $40. So very affordable guns to say the least.
When it comes to making these replica pistol reviews I tend to stick with the higher end "flashy guns" with all the metal parts and realistic operation. It takes a bit of prodding before I pick up a low cost gun and review it but that does not mean they are not good value for the money. I just personally don't mind spending a bit more money to get more features and quality, but for some people spending over $100 on an airgun is out of the question. Hey you have to start somewhere and at the end of the day a lower cost gun and higher cost gun still both put BB's down range :)
In this Vimeo Preview Video Review I look at four guns, two from ASG (Bersa Thunder 9 Pro and MK1) and two from Umarex (XBG and TDP 45), three are 4.5mm Steel BB shooters (XBG, TDP 45, and Bersa Thunder 9 Pro) one is a 6mm plastic Airsoft BB shooter (MK1). All are predominantly plastic and none of them have blowback operation. The 4.5mm Steel BB shooters all use CO2 with 19 shot stick metal magazines and the ASG Airsoft MK1 uses Green Gas with a 17 round full size drop out metal magazine. The BB pistols all shoot right around 400-410 fps and for the Airsoft pistol I am not sure so we will find out when I do the review for it in a bit...
All of these pistols look pretty decent and as I said for the money, I think you are getting good value here.

You really need to watch my Vimeo Video to see how easy it is to take a brand new out of the box gun and give it that weathered, old, worn and used look that you would find in a classic vintage gun like a Luger P.08, Colt 45 1911 or any other classic firearm. Of course this is something you would do to a new gun that you want to make look old :)
This is a great way to take a gun that already has some wear marks on it and really give it the full worn in look, kind of an alternative to having to touch it up or refinish it.

As usual with my Field Test Shooting Reviews I test out the Umarex Legends P08 Luger using my Chronograph and put five rounds through it to get a real world average fps. Umarex claims around 410 but I got a bit higher results of 435 using a brand new Umarex CO2 cartridge. The temperature was warm but not hot so there may be room for even up to 450 fps on this CO2 BB pistol Replica.
I decided to step back to the 30 foot mark for my target potion of this review since in my pre-test I was at 20 feet and I got a 1.5 inch grouping. While shooting from a semi rested position at 30 feet back I was able to place pretty much a 2 inch 10 shot group which is very good considering the rather heavy 10 pound trigger on the Umarex Legends P08 Luger BB Pistol. You will want to use a double handed grip with this gun to get good accuracy so you can relax with your trigger hand and grip tight with your supporting hand.
You can expect to get right around 6 really good and consistent magazines worth of shots before having to change the CO2, that is over 120 shots! And even on the last magazine the fps seemed to stay nice and high.
Some people have criticized the heavy trigger on this pistol but I see it as an opportunity to work on your double action shooting since some real world guns have trigger pulls up into the 10 pound range, so you never know what to expect when shooting a new gun. If you can lay down constant shots with the Umarex Legends P08 Luger CO2 BB Pistol then you should have no problems shooting other heavy triggered guns.
