If you have been watching my Video Reviews you may have picked up on the fact that I am a bit of a 1911 fan! Perhaps it goes back to my Magnum PI day, I am sure I have watched every episode a bunch of times as a kid and growing up, Tom Selleck’s side arm of choice was the classic Colt 1911 A1 and I guess it brushed off on me. I just like the look and feel of the classic 1911!
There have been a number of BB firing Airguns that have come out over the years so I thought I would go over a few of my favorite versions and talk a little bit about their history and cover a few different version most actually made by KWC based off of their original full blowback CO2 1911.

In this comparison video I look at a variety of different 1911 Airguns and compare them to each other to determine which one I feel is the best 1911 Airgun, well at least for me.
Some of the guns I consider are the Umarex Colt Government 1911 A1 Pellet Pistol, the Sig Sauer Max Michel and Spartan 1911 BB Pistols, the Daisy Winchester Model 11 BB Pistol, and a selection of KWC made 1911's: Tanfoglio Witness 1911, Swiss Arms SA 1911 Tactical, Swiss Arms SA 1911 Seventies, KWC M1911 Tac A1 and the Umarex Colt Commander 1911.

My final video for the Sig Sauer Spartan and Max Michel Blowback CO2 BB Pistols where I find out exactly how they perform. I test out the fps velocity with my Chrony Chronograph and then setup a paper target about 30 feet away and shoot 10 rounds from a rested and seated position with my hands on a sandbag for stability.
I decided to only shoot the Sig Sauer Spartan 1911 since the Max Michel is really the same gun mechanically but with slightly different cosmetics which should not change the performance in any way. I did use a brand new Sig Sauer CO2 along with Umarex zinc coated steel 4.5mm BB's for this test.
Starting with my fps velocity Chronograph testing for the Sig Sauer Spartan and Max Michel Blowback CO2 BB Pistols, it did take me 2 shots to get the chronograph to read but after that I got 5 good readings averaging about 370 fps with the fastest shot close to 400 fps. I know the first couple of shots that did not read where up in the higher ranges so my average result may have been a little higher if they had been included in the testing.
For my accuracy test I shot 10 rounds at a paper target setup about 30 feet away using my standard sea can seated and rested shooting position and I didn't feel like I pulled any shots. That said 2 of the 10 shots seemed to get away on me a little bit but the other 8 where well within a 2 inch grouping and the 2 outliers only extended the grouping by about an additional inch. In terms of placement on target the sig Sauer Spartan Blowback CO2 BB Pistol was well centered left to right but did shoot about 3 inches high.
I was a bit surprised by how heavy the blowback is on the Sig Sauer Spartan and Max Michel Blowback CO2 BB Pistols, it kind of rocked my table a little bit especially when the CO2 was new. I also really like the trigger and feel that theses Sig Sauer 1911 offerings really give the KWC 1911 blowback CO2 airguns a run for their money. If you can get over the plastic stick magazine then I think you would really like owning a Spartan or Max Michel Sig Sauer 1911 CO2 Blowback Airgun.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Sig 1911 CO2 blowback pistols is excellent! juts like a real 1911 it is single action only and both Sig Sauer 1911's have very short and very light trigger pulls. To make the shooting experience even more realistic you will need to engage the working back strap safety in order to shot these guns, again just like a real 1911.
Accuracy: I have not done my official Field Test Shooting Video for the these Sig Sauer CO2 Blowback 1911's but I did do a shooting field test for the Daisy Winchester Model 11 which these guns are built in design from. The Daisy Model 11 on a rather cold day shot around 360 fps so I am expecting better results from the new updated Sig Sauer Max Michal and Spartan especially in warmer shooting conditions. during my previous Daisy Model 11 testing I was also able to get around a 2 inch 10 shot grouping from a 30 foot shooting position.
Build Quality: Both of the Sig Sauer Spartan and Max Michel Blowback CO2 airguns are built really well, they feel solid in the hand and all the mechanical parts feel tight, the finish is also nice and does not show any signs of wearing. You will find metal parts pretty much everywhere except the magazines, even the safety, magazine release and slide catch are metal, it's kind of too bad the magazine was also not metal?
Realism: Sig Sauer modeled the Spartan and Max Michel after their real steel version and overall they are very similar with the exception that neither of the real steel version have under barrel rails, you will also find adjustable sights on both of the real steel versions and of course proper full size magazines. Other than that both the Sig Sauer CO2 Blowback 1911/s look the part and have full Sig Sauer Licensing and branding,

Comments:
I know that everyone seems to like airguns with full size drop out metal magazines and yes it does make the airgun look and feel more realistic but once the magazine is in the gun the experience for the most part is the same. Having a stick magazine in this case allows for a more efficient CO2 delivery which should increase power and shots per CO2, I know a lot of people complain about the low FPS of the KWC 1911's so if this is you then perhaps you then you may need to give up a full size mag for more power and shots per CO2? Other then the stick mag issue both the Sig Sauer Spartan and Max Michel are really nice CO2 Blowback Airguns and I am really hoping they perform well when I get to my field test shooting review shortly.
My Vimeo Table Top Review of the Sig Sauer Spartan & Max Michel Blowback CO2 BB Pistols:
At SHOT Show this year I got to checkout two new 1911 CO2 Blowback BB Pistols from Sig Sauer, the 1911 Spartan and the 1911 Max Michel. A couple years back Sig introduced their (Advanced Sport Pellet) or ASP line of pellet shooting Airguns in both rifle and pistol version but interestingly enough Sigs 1911 line of airguns are not pellet shooter but rather 4.5mm Steel BB airguns.
Both the Spartan and the Max Michel 1911 BB Pistols are styled after current real steal Sig Sauer 1911's. There are some slight differences in the airgun version cosmetically, notable the added Picatinny rails on both of them but overall they are decent replicas of the real steel versions.
The Spartan and the Max Michel 1911 BB Pistols are built on the same components but have different finishings but their general specifications will be identical.

Both Sig Sauer 1911 Blowback BB pistols feel really solid and the single action tigers also feel really nice, what you would expect from a real 1911 trigger. As I mentioned already both Sig 1911 BB Airguns have Picatinny raise which you will not find on the original real steal versions, and I also notices that the Max Michel version has standard sights rather than competition sights and is also lacking the flared but-plate on the magazine.
I am looking forward to giving both these Sig Sauer 1911 Blowback BB pistols a good testing in the Sea Can Airgun shooting range so stay posted for my Field Test Shooting Video and also full Table Top Review.
My First SHOT Show 2017 Las Vegas Interview to kick things off! Dani Navickas from Sig Sauer ASP talks with me about three new CO2 blowback air pistols Sig Sauer ASP is introducing this year just in time for spring season.
The Sig Sauer ASP P320 will be replacing last years P250, don't worry the Sig Sauer ASP P226 is not going anywhere! The P320 is a CO2 Blowback Pellet pistol similar to the previous P250 but this new model has a 30 round belt fed magazine rather than a dual sided 16 round rotary magazine. I love that Sig Sauer ASP is coming out with new innovations like this for us Airgun enthusiasts! The Sig Sauer ASP P320 has a metal slide and polymer frame like it's big powder burning brother and throws pellets at around 430 fps average. Don't expect a ton of shots per CO2, you will be lucky to get two magazine out of a single 12 gram CO2 but I am sure the extra power is worth it.
Sig Sauer ASP also introduced this year two new full metal and full blowback CO2 BB firing 1911's that feature a working safety and grip safety along with a true single action trigger. You have your choice of the signatured Max Michel in two tone black and silver or the Spartan in a Gold Brown finish. Both of these guns are based on the same mechanical build but are cosmetically different. I can say they feel really good in the hand and are super solid. There is a bit of a trade off, you do get a bit higher fps (around 410 fps) than some other 1911's at out there but you will have to put up with a stick magazine.
Of course the Sig Sauer ASP MPX and MCX are still going strong alone with the Sig Sauer ASP P266. Make sure to watch my previous Review Video for the Sig Sauer APS MPX and Sig Sauer APS P226.

Here is the third video in a series of Head to Head Air Pistol Shootouts. In this video place the KWC Model M1911 Tac A1 head to head versus the Cybergun-KWC GSG 92-M92.
Both CO2 4.5mm Replica Air Pistols feature full size drop out metal magazines that hold the CO2 and 4.5mm steel BB's. These super realistic BB guns also have full blowback with working slide catches, safeties and magazine releases and they can both be field stripped juts like the real steel versions.
In this field test comparison I shoot both guns through my Chronograph to see what kind of feet per second performance each one shoots, I also take them back 30 feet and shoot 10 rounds on a paper target using a semi rested position for true accuracy results.

Here is my official Field Test Shooting Video Review for my KWC M1911 Model A1 TAC CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. Interestingly enough, this time around I got a bit lower average feet per second rating from this air gun at right around 290 fps as compared to the pre-test I did during my Table Top Review (shot closer to 310 average fps)? Both days the temperature was about the same and the CO2 used on both occasions was the same brand and where unused. Just goes to show you that these guns sometimes have a mind of their own...
At least the accuracy portion came in just about the same with an approximate 2 inch grouping shooting at the target from 20 feet out in a semi rested position. I did shoot a bit to the left and a bit low which I could adjust from left to right but since there is only a windage adjustment I would have to sight a bit up to hit the bullseye with the KWC M1911 Model A1 TAC. This time around I also got 4 magazine worth of shots as I slowed things down a bit and took my time and juts like last time I had no problems or malfunctions with my KWC M1911 Model A1 TAC.
The best part about shooting the KWC M1911 Model A1 TAC CO2 Air Pistol is it's beautiful single action 1911 styled trigger and nice heavy full blowback action, making this gun a great economical trainer if you own the real steel version or perhaps just want to feel like you do!

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KWC M1911 A1 Tac blowback BB Pistol is exactly what you would expect from a true single action 1911 styled pistol. It has a short take up and then a nice light and crisp pull to it. Because of the similar mechanics not only to the trigger but other aspects of this gun, it would make an awesome low cost trainer to be used when your real 1911 can not be.
Accuracy: I shot the KWC M1911 A1 Tac BB gun at a target from 20 feet away in a semi rested position, and it performed well getting a 2 inch grouping just a bit off center of the target. The sights are adjustable for windage so zeroing the KWC M1911 A1 Tac in would not be much of a problem! My initial Chrony testing puts this gun right in the 300-320 fps range which is just fine for this style of heavy full realistic blowback action BB shooter. I also managed to get three very good magazine worth of shots with some extra CO2 left for a potential 4th magazine. If you slow your shooting down and let the gun and CO2 warm up between magazines you can get 4 magazines with this gun for sure.
Build Quality: KWC did a great job with the KWC M1911 A1 Tac. The quality and build characteristics may even be just a bit better than my other KWC/Cybergun blowback air pistols. Everything that should be metal is the same on this as the original, the slide and barrel wiggle are minimal and the finish seems to be wearing fairly well on this KWC airgun. I do expect over time fore some of the finish to wear off on the high points but this can also give the gun some character ;)
Realism: The KWC M1911 A1 Tac BB airgun is as close as you can get to the real steel 1911 A1 45 auto but with an obvious more modern Tactical look to it, the Tactical version has the addition of a: Tac style trigger and hammer, textured grips, ambidextrous safety, adjustable white dot sights, rail for accessories. This gun is nearly all metal with very heavy blowback making it feel real to hold in the hand and shoot.

I love my Cybergun Tanfoglio Witness 1911 as do many of you based on the amount of sales we have had on that unit! After all who does not appreciate such an accurate replica of the Classic Colt 1911 A1 45 auto? The only problem with the classic 1911 is that it is missing a few of todays more modern features and that's what is so nice abut the new KWC M1911 A1 Tac BB Pistol, it takes an all ready great design and makes it even better by adding the Tac style trigger and hammer, textured grips, ambidextrous safety, adjustable white dot sights and rail for add on accessories. So if you're a 1911 fan looking for as close as you can get to the real steel in a more modern version than look no further, this is it!
I have talked about how KWC and Cybergun are really the same product and that Cybergun and KWC products in many cases are really the same gun but with some versions having slightly different markings on the guns themselves.
Today I show you a new 4.5mm Steel BB gun we just brought into the store very closely related to the Cybergun Tanfoglio Witness 1911, or otherwise known as the KWC Model 1911. This new airguns is a Tactical version of the Model M1911 and it goes by the name Model M1911 A1 Tac. It shares the same internal parts as the Tanfoglio Witness 1911 including the 4.5mm Steel BB magazine but the Tactical version is all black and has several updated modern parts that you would not find in a traditional 1911 A1 45 auto replica: Like the tactical trigger, hammer, adjustable white dot sights and accessory rial. This gun would make an awesome IPSC trainer for sure.
At this point there is no 6mm Airsoft version but you can get the KWC Model 1911 and M92 in 6mm Airsoft all metal versions.
I also compare my GSG 92 4.5mm Steel BB pistol I reviewed in the past and show you that it is identical to the KWC same M92 version with the exception of some marking on the slide. Many people even prefer the KWC branded models as they do not have the rather offensive white warning instructions all over them.
So if you're in the market for one of these super popular KWC/Cybergun blowback ultra realistic BB and Airsoft pistols you do have some options to consider...
