ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver Field Test Review

I have made a fair amount of video reviews for the Dan Wesson Line of AIrguns that encompass Table Top and Field Test Reviews on several versions of the Dan Wesson line: BB, Pellet, Airsoft, in a variety of barrel and color choices. It has been a while, so why not make another Review Video to revisit the Dan Wesson Line and so this time here we have the Steel BB version in a 2.5 inch barrel length. As always I will test they CO2 Revolver to find out what the velocity is and how accurate it is shooting at a paper target. Also make sure to watch my Table Top Video for specifications, details and closeup video.

Here we go with the Velocity test! I placed a brand new CO2 in the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver and shot a cylinder full of 4.5mm steel BB’s that weigh 5.1 grain through my Chronograph. The temperature was average so about room temperature. Only the last 4 of my shots registered on my Chronograph as it was acting up a bit on me at first two shots but I did manage to average 332 fps with the last four. The first two shots would have been a little bit faster had they registered on my chronograph so this may have brought up the average a bit to say around 334…

I then placed a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and proceeded to unload a full 6 round cylinder into it, I was shooting in single action with the hammer cocked back between shots. I was also using a semi rested shooting position with my hands resting on a sand bag up front and seated in the back for stability. Generally speaking even with Steel BB’s I can get close to a 1-2 inch grouping with hess Dan Wessons but this time my 6 shot grouping only produced a 3 inch group? It was probably me as there is always some human error involved and each test can result in different results so keep that in mind. The grouping was well centered out of the box but the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver does have fully adjustable sights in case yours is a bit off.

It never get’s old loading up the shells with ammo and placing them in the cylinder followed by either quick action shooting or more relaxed and accurate single action shooting, then repeating again and again… The original Dan Wesson line of revelers has been around for a long time now and if I am not mistaken was the first Airgun revolver to use reloadable shells. We now have more refined 715 version of the Dan Wesson which does have some improvement but the original versions still hold strong and are very capable and fun shell loading revolvers that come it a bit lower price tag then the newer 715 versions so no matter which version you get you will have lot of fun shooting and reloading these enjoyable Airguns!

ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver Table Top Review

Type: BB Revolvers.
Manufacturer: ASG
Model: Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold
Materials: Mostly metal.
Weight: 1.9 pounds. (862 grams)
Barrel: Metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: CO2 x 1.
Action: Revolver, single and double action.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm Steel BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 6 rounds (removable shells).
FPS: 327

Trigger Pull: The ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver shoots in true modern revolver style offering single and double action. The double action has a bit of friction to it since the cylinder is being rotate during the first part of the trigger pull and there is a spring fed metal gasket between the barrel and the cylinder that creates a seal but does add some resistance to the trigger pull in double action. Single action is much lighter as expected since pulling the hammer back turns the cylinder removing that friction point from the equasion.

.Accuracy: So far I have not done my Filed Test Shooting Video for the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver, but I plan to in the near future as a revisit since I have made a lot of similar Field Test Videos for the Dan Wesson line of products in 4.5mm Steel BB and 6mm Airsoft, here is a link to me shooting the 8 inch a while back in my old setup. Wow, this one goes back to 2014 almost 10 years ago!

Build Quality: The ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver overall is really well built with good weight to it and a nice fit and finish, I do like the Gold version in this 2.5 inch version. It is almost all metal with the exception of the grips which are made of a semi hard plastic. One beef I have with the original ASG Dan Wesson line of revolvers are how the grips slide back to access the CO2, closing them can be a bit of a chore as they can come off their track super easily. The other complaint I hear about them is the play in the trigger and hammer side to side.

Realism: The ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver like all the other ASG Dan Wesson Revolvers is very realistic with its realistic pop out cylinder and 6 removable shells you can reuse and load up for numerous rounds of shooting. You can also buy additional shells and have them preloaded and ready to go in the Speed loader to speed things up. Two things about the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver that take away a bit from the realism would be the non recessed barrel and the rather large space in front of the hammer. A real steel Dan Wesson or even most revolvers do not have this large space. I believe they did this to allow for the internal valve system. The newer Dan Wesson 715 however was designed with a smaller space in front of the hammer.

Pros:

  • It's a revolver with actual shells! Gives you the feeling of a real 6 shooter.

  • Almost all metal design with good weight and feel.

  • Lots of detail in this gun, very well made, fit and finish is very good.

  • Good power and good accuracy. (going off of already done older reviews)

  • Fully adjustable rear sight for windage and elevation.

  • Can add the included accessory rail for more options (optical or red dot sight…).

  • Dan Wesson licensed via ASG.

  • Gold finish is unique. (Gold is the Best!)

  • Moulded and textured pistol grips.

  • Grips fully hide CO2 screw.

  • Can shoot in both double and single action for action shooting or more accurate shot placement.

Cons:

  • Plastic CO2 screw tab.

  • Plastic grip setup can be a bit awkward to close.

  • 2.5 inch does not have the recessed barrel.

  • Hammer and trigger are a bit sloppy compared to 715 version.

Comments:

It’s been a while since I reviewed one of the first generation ASG Dan Wesson Revolvers and the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver does bring back some memories for me going back almost a decade. If I’m not mistaken this revolver was the first one to implement actual removable and reloadable shells making Airgun Replica Revolvers a lot more interesting and realistic! I do kind of prefer the newer 715 version as they are even beefier than the original ASG Dan Wessons and ASG has fixed the sloppy hammer and trigger along with the space in front of the hammer has been reduce making the 715 even that much more realistic.

Umarex HK P30 - T4E HDB - ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 - KJWorks KP13 Update Preview

In this Preview Review Video I take a look at 4 newer products now in our Replica Airguns Online Store. One is a 4.5mm Steel BB Revolver, two are 6mm Airsoft Pistols and one is a .68 caliber Paintball Shotgun.

The first item I take look at in this video is the Umarex HK30 AEG Airsoft Pistol, this product is pretty entry level with analyst all plastic build and is very light to hold. It does however shoot in both semi and full auto since it is an AEG Airsfto Pistol (not many of them out there). The fps is rather low at a claimed fps at just under 200, the Umarex HK30 AEG Airsoft Pistol also comes with two 16 round remove; plastic magazines. Who knows, maybe it will be fun?

Next I take a look at the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch 4.5mm Steel BB Gold Revolver. This is a CO2 powered shell loading BB revolver very much like similar ones I have reviewed in the past but in Gold finish. Will the gold finishes make it perform better, well I guess we better find out!

I then take a look at a “Glock Like” CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol for KJWorks called the KP13. It has a full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 along with 24 rounds of 6mm Airsoft BB’s. The KJWorks KP-13 has a metal slide, metal magazine and polymer frame with a velocity over 360fps using the included barrel extension.

Last but perhaps the most interesting for me is the Umarex T4E HDB which is a lower cost Paintball/Rubber Ball Shotgun which could possibly be used for home protection? The T4E HDB is a mostly plastic constructed rifle with decent weight to it and uses an internal spring fed 16 round magazine. You will find all kinds of mounting points for accessories and for a sling on the Umarex T4E HDB and again at much lower cost than similar T4E rifle based Paintball/Rubber ball Airguns.

Which Shells Work in Which Shell Loading Revolvers?

I have often been asked which of the Shells for the Shell Loading Revolvers work in which Shell Loading Revolvers? After all many of them look a lot alike so can you mix and match Shells for the various types of Shell Loading Revolvers?

In this Vimeo Instructional Video I test out a bunch of Shells to see which ones actually will work or not work in several of the most popular Shell Loading Revolvers.

Some of the Shell Loading Revovers Tested in this Instructional Video are:

ASG Dan Wesson 715 6 Inch Revolver BB Versus Airsoft Field Test Review

This comparison Review Video serves a few purposes, first to compare the ASG Dan Wesson 715 Revolver 4.5mm steel BB version to the 6mm plastic Airsoft version in both velocity and accuracy. Secondly to give my new Chrony Chronograph with lighting kit a test to see if I can get more reliable readings in lower light and thirdly to try and redeem the Steel BB version of the Dan Wesson 715 as last time I tested it, it did not get all that high of fps readings, well below the claimed 430 on the box.

In this review video I test both Dan Wesson 715 Revolvers out, first with my Chrony Chronograph and then all in one take I setup and shoot 6 rounds each on separate paper targets from 30 feet back to see how accurate the smaller heavier Steel BB rounds are compared to the larger lighter Plastic BB's. I used 5.1 grain RWS 4.5mm Steel BB's and .20 gram 6mm plastic BB's and installed brand new 12 gram CO2 cartridges in both guns.

In terms of my Chrony consistency, the smaller steel BB's still struggled to get consistent readings with only 2 out of 6 shots while the larger Airsoft BB's managed to get a good reading 4 out of 6 shots. Steel BB velocity was right around 350 fps while the Airsoft BB's where travelling much faster at closer to 450 fps.

Both the Steel BB and Airsoft CO2 Dan Wesson 715 Revolvers shot 6 round grouping of about 2 inches with 4 out of the 6 shots making a much tighter 1 inch group again with both ammo types. The Airsoft Dan Wesson 715 seemed to be centered on target well while the Steel BB Dan Wesson 715 shot a bit low.

ASG Dan Wesson 715 6 Inch Silver CO2 BB Revolver Field Test Review

Make sure to checkout my ASG Dan Wesson 715 Table Top Review Video for more information, specifications some additional photos.

This Field Test Shooting Video Review focuses on the performance results of the ASG Dan Wesson 715 CO2 BB Revolver. I put it through my standard Field Test to see what kind of feet per second performance it can achieve using 5.1 grain Steel 4.5mm BB's. I also perform my standard 6 shot Revolver accuracy test from 30 feet back with a semi rested shooting position to see how this very modern 6 shooter groups on a paper target.

In the first portion of the fps velocity test, I used my temperamental Chronograph shooting 6 rounds in total with a brand new CO2. Out of the 6 shots I did mange to get 3 good readings so I guess it could have been worse. The fps reading for the three shots where 338, 331 and 326 with a three shot average of 332 fps. Not what I expected from the ASG Dan Wesson 715 CO2 BB Revolver since the claimed fps is closer to 430 and it was not an overly cold day so I should have been in the ball park. Perhaps my Chrony is not reading like it should be and maybe it's time for a new one :(

Next on my Field Test Shooting list was the accuracy portion of this review. I performed my standard 30 foot back paper target shooting test using my standard semi-rested position, standing in the back with a sandbag up front to rest my hands on for stability. This position is fairly steady but not perfect so there is always some human factor to consider. I had to perform this part of the test twice as one of my cameras was not rolling in the first go around. Unfortunately the first test was the best but I can say the ASG Dan Wesson 715 CO2 BB Revolver is very capable of getting all 6 shots under 1 inch with a little practice and a steady hand

I really love the new ASG Dan Wesson 715 CO2 BB Revolver, it's for sure a much better made version than the older Dan Wesson and it seems ot be just as accurate. I am almost positive this pistol shoots harder than what my Chronograph was giving it credit for, you can just tell by how quick the BB's are getting to the target. so perhaps another FPS test is in order to find out for sure. Other than that the ASG Dan Wesson 715 CO2 BB Revolver is an awesome modern shell loading CO2 six shooter and a lot of fun to shoot.

ASG Dan Wesson 715 6 Inch Silver CO2 BB Revolver Table Top Review

Type: Shell Loading BB Revolver.

Manufacturer: ASG.

Model:Dan Wesson 715 6 Inch Sliver.

Materials: Mostly metal.

Weight: 2.7 pounds. (1225 grams)

Barrel: Metal non-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x 1.

Action: Revolver, single and double action.

Ammunition Type: 4.5mm Steel BB's.

Ammunition Capacity: 6 rounds.

FPS: 430.

Trigger Pull: The ASG Dan Wesson 357 Revolver has a smoother trigger than the previous non 715 Dan Wesson Revolvers. There seems to be less of that friction while the cylinder rotates past the spring engaged inner barrel. Even the Hammer has  a nicer fell to it with less side to side wiggle. Single action is really nice with a very short take up and light release point.

Accuracy: I have not had a chance to test out the ASG Dan Wesson 715 6 Inch Silver CO2 BB Revolver so far since the outside whether has been rather cold and wet. In terms of accuracy I would expect at least a 1-2 inch grouping from 30 feet out and the clamed fps of 430 seems to be in line with what we should see from the 4.5mm BB shooting Dan Wesson 715. I guess we will have to find out later on when I do my Field Test Shooting video to be sure...

Build Quality: I thought the previous generation Dan Wesson Revolvers where built really nice but the new Dan Wesson 715 takes this up several notches higher. All you need to do is pick this gun up and immediately you are in a state of wow! You almost need to ask yourself if it is in fact the Real Steal Dan Wesson 715 357 Magnum Revolver it feels that good. ASG has beefed up the barrel assembly to a solid component that adds a lot of forward weight which would be just like what you would expect from the 357 Magnum shooting version. To balance it all off the forward weight, the grips section is also reinforced with metal underneath the Hogue Styled rubber finger grips which again are another huge improvement over the plastic pistol grips found on previous models of the ASG Dan Wesson's. The stainless finish is of course awesome and this guns simply looks and feels great!

Realism: Again referencing the new ASG Dan Wesson 715 6 Inch Silver CO2 BB Revolver to it's predecessors, the Dan Wesson 715 is a true replica of the Dan Wesson 715 357 Magnum Revolver in almost every aspect and not just the Dan Wesson name. I could tell you everything that was the same but it's simply much easier to point out the only real difference I was able to point out and that would be the two pins that connect the barrel assembly to the frame of the BB version of the Dan Wesson 715. Not a deal breaker by any means and the pins really don't take away from this gun in my opinion.

Purchased From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Another great shell loading revolver, perhaps one of the nicest modern BB revolvers to date!

  • Almost all metal design, super heavy, feels like a real gun in the hand.

  • Lots of detail in this gun, very well made, fit and finish is excellent.

  • Dan Wesson Licensed and an excellent replica overall.

  • Adjustable rear sight for windage and elevation.

  • Rubber Hogue style finger grips, huge improvement over previous Dan Wesson grips.

  • Well hidden CO2 screw and Allen key built into the removable grip.

  • Much improved hammer and trigger action, smoother trigger and less wiggle in hammer.

  • Barrel opening is very realistic, even has simulated rifling.

  • Safety design is well hidden and easy to use.

Cons:

  • Two pins to attach the barrel assembly to the frame are not in line with the real steel version.

  • Trigger still has a bit of that initial friction in double action mode because of the spring loaded internal barrel.

Comments:

I was already a big fan of the Dan Wesson line of Revolvers, this new 715 version of the Dan Wesson takes it to a whole new level! In terms of the modern shell loading CO2 Revolvers out there the ASG Dan Wesson 715 6 Inch Silver CO2 BB Revolver is by far  my new favorite. ASG completely redesign their new ASG Dan Wesson 715 6 Inch Silver CO2 BB Revolver basing it entirely on the real steel version and capturing the quality, look and feel nearly exactly. if you already have a Dan Wesson Revolver and think that perhaps you can pass the new version by, well I would think again or you may be missing out on one of the best BB Revolvers out there at this time.

ASG Dan Wesson 8 inch Revolver vs Umarex S&W 327 TRR8 Head to Head Shootout

This post is really all about watching the YouTube video and seeing how these two similar CO2 4.5mm Steel BB revolvers compare to each other. I was working with a new Chronograph since again it was really dark outside and my old Chronograph does not like darkness. I did get some usable Chrony results with the new one but I did have to work for it ;)

Make sure to checkout my other posts for my Dan Wesson revolvers and also the Umarex S&W 327 TRR8.

Watch the video below to see the Dan Wesson 8 inch 4.5mm Steel BB Revolver go head to head against the Umarex S&W 327 TRR8 in both a test of the feet per second performance and accuracy shooting at 30 feet using a semi rested position.

ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold - G&G G731 2.5 Airsoft Revolver Field Test Shooting Comparison

Since both the Gold ASG Dan Wesson and the G&G G731 Airsoft Revolvers both have the 2.5 inch barrels on them and in many ways are very similar (at least mechanically), I thought I would not only do my Table Top Review but also my Field Test Shooting Review using both guns side by side so we can really get an idea of how they perform and compare.

As per usual, I test both pistols out on my Chronograph to see what kind of real world feet per second rating I get, since they are 6 shot Revolvers, I fired 6 single action rounds from each gun using .20 gram plastic Airsoft BB's and averaged out the string. Both guns shot a little bit over 400 fps with the Dan Wesson having just a bit of a higher fps over the G&G G731.

Next up was the accuracy test, I decided to setup at my 30 foot mark so that any accuracy differences would be more noticeable, again I shot 6 rounds from each gun while I used a semi rested position, (sand bag for a hand rest and standing in the back). This time I would have to give the slight edge to the G&G G731 as it seemed to shoot just a bit tighter grouping over my Dan Wesson Gold. Both guns shot pretty close to a 2 inch 6 shot group.

Both pistols have pretty decent single and double action triggers, there is a some noticeable friction when shooting in double action due to the way the barrel seals against the cylinder so you may want to shoot in single action when going for the most accurate of shooting.

When it comes to sight picture the Dan Wesson does have a fully adjustable rear sight but the G&G G731 gets the job done with it's simple yet effective grove sight which I kind of preferred with this style of short barreled revolver.

If you want more of that combat look with some Gold Bling than perhaps the Gold ASG Dan Wesson is the one for you? Perhaps you want something like the G&G G731, as compact and simple as it gets that you know you can count on as a backup ready sidearm. There isn't a bad choice here with either of these nice compact Airsoft Revolvers.

ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold - G&G G731 2.5 Airsoft Pistol Table Top Review Comparison

Type: Airsoft Revolvers.

Manufacturer: ASG - G&G

Model:Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold - G&G G731 2.5 inch Silver & Black

Materials: Mostly metal.

Weight: 1.87 pounds. (850 grams) - 1.65 pounds. (750 grams)

Barrel: Metal non-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x 1.

Action: Revolver, single and double action.

Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's.

Ammunition Capacity: 6 rounds.

FPS: 394.

Trigger Pull: Both of these pistols have about the same style of triggers, they both shoot in true revolvers style offering single and double action triggers. The double action has a bit of friction to it since the cylinder is being rotate during the first part of the trigger pull and there is a spring fed metal gasket between the barrel and the cylinder that creates a seal but does apply pressure and results in some friction and a heavier trigger pull in double action. Single action is much lighter on both guns.

Accuracy: This part of my testing has not been conducted to date, I will put a link in here when I have completed my Shooting Field Test review for the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold and G&G G731 2.5 inch Airsoft pistols. Even thought the claimed fps is around 400 for both guns I am expecting more like 350-375 fps. Accuracy should be decent at closer ranges but since there is no hop-up, neither gun would be good at longer ranges in my opinion.

Build Quality: These detailed revolver are really well built! Both are almost all metal with just a few components made out of plastic, like the handles on both guns and the CO2 screw tab on the Dan Wesson. Both revolvers grips gave me just a bit of concern, you will need to be careful when snapping in the grip on the G&G G731 and the Dan Wesson grips have been known to ware a bit with heavy use. The finish on both of these guns is amazing and while the Silver finish on the G&G looks just like polished stainless steel, the Gold finish on the Dan Wesson offers a very unique and customized finish not found on too many guns. And if you just want classic black then there is always the G&G G731 in standard black as an option.

Realism: The ASG Dan Wesson and G&G G731 revolvers are as close as you can get to real six shooters, all the parts work pretty much like a real revolver, the realistic loading of the metal shells not only make it feel like you are handling a real revolver but also finish off the look making it really hard to tell that both these pistols are in fact Airsoft Revolvers.

Purchased From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Revolver with actual brass shells giving you the feeling of a real 6 shooter!

  • Almost all metal design.

  • lots of detail in both revolvers, very well made, fit and finish is excellent.

  • Should have respectable power for a short barreled pistol.

  • Fully adjustable sight on the ASG Dan Wesson.

  • G&G G731 is super compact and flush, great out of the way back up side arm.

  • No Red Tip on the Canada version.

Cons:

  • Plastic CO2 screw tab on the Dan Wesson (but is well hidden and protected).

  • A bit of concern with wearing and usage on the grips for both guns.

  • No adjustable sight on the G&G G731 but super clean looking.

  • Red tip on the US version :(

Comments:

As with all of these shell loading revolvers, they are just so realistic and really fun to load up and shoot. You actually get a bit of time in-between shooting to take a breath and enjoy the entire experience rather than just unload round after round with some of the other super high round magazine guns. I love the compact size of both guns, perhaps the G&G G731 just a bit more with it's super clean edges and even smaller profile. But on the other hand the Dan Wesson ASG 2.5 inch has that more aggressive combat look if that is more to your liking! Either way, both guns make a great choice for an out of the way revolver styled side arm when you need that extra backup firepower!

ASG Dan Wesson 6 Inch Silver CO2 Airsoft Revolver Field Test Shooting Review

I've had the opportunity to review and shoot my Dan Wesson 4.5mm Steel BB Version so I kind of knew what to expect with the Airsoft version, much of the same but with perhaps a little bit less accurate further out shooting since the plastic BB's will tend to drift a bit more.

I already did my pretest for the ASG Dan Wesson 6 Inch Silver CO2 Airsoft Revolver while making my Table Top Review and shot right around the 400 fps mark, but it was a colder day then, I also shot my ASG Dan Wesson Airsoft Revolver from a closer up 20 feet for the pretest and got a nice tight 1.5 inch shot group.

On the actual Field Test Shooting day it was much warmer (tank top weather ;) and so as would be expected, this time my ASG Dan Wesson 6 Inch Silver CO2 Airsoft Revolver shot a bit faster at closer to a 420 fps average with 6 shots put through it. There is even room for some more fps still as it was only about 22 degrees Celsius or about 72 Fahrenheit on the test day.

Accuracy from 30 feet out was not as tight as my pretest 20 foot testing and I would imagine this will spread out even more the further back we go with the Airsoft ASG Dan Wesson, as is the case with Airsoft BB's. Airsoft BB's are just not as accurate as steel BB's especially when shooting at longer ranges. I would expect this Airsoft Dan Wesson version should still be very effective on a "man sized target" up to about 60 feet or so. Keep in mind there is no hop-up in this revolver so teh Airsoft BB's will drop much more than a gun that has hop-up.

Like the 4.5mm BB shooting version you can expect a good 100 or more shots from this Airsoft BB Shooting Dan Wesson CO2 Revolver. Having tradition revolver single and double action makes for both precise and action styled shooting. All in all a really nice Airsoft pistol from ASG.

ASG Dan Wesson 6 Inch Silver CO2 Airsoft Revolver Table Top Review

Type: Airsoft Revolver.

Manufacturer: ASG.

Model:Dan Wesson 6 inch Sliver Airsoft.

Materials: Mostly metal.

Weight: 2.25 pounds. (968 grams)

Barrel: Metal non-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x 1.

Action: Revolver, single and double action.

Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's.

Ammunition Capacity: 6 rounds.

FPS: 453.

Trigger Pull: The ASG Dan Wesson Airsoft Revolver has a predictable trigger with the single action being a bit lighter and more consistent, not just in feel but also in fps. Double action shooting is very usable without a lot of extra pressure required and makes for fun consecutive shooting albeit you will run our of ammo pretty quick compared to many high capacity semi auto styled airguns.

Accuracy: I shot the Dan Wesson Airsoft Revolver at a target from 20 feet away in a semi rested position, and it performed excellent, getting a 1.5 inch 6 shot grouping dead center in the bullseye! The sights are fully adjustable for elevation and windage so getting these guns centered on the bullseye if you where out a bit would be very easy. My Chrony testing for the Dan Wesson Airsoft Revolver with a six shots averaged result was 399 fps.

Build Quality: This detailed revolver is extremely well built! All the Dan Wesson Revolvers are almost all metal with just a few components made out of plastic, like the handle and CO2 screw tab. The handle feels like a cross between plastic and rubber but is basically plastic with a coated paint on it that can wear off with long term use so try and go easy on the grips. The finish on the six inch silver Dan Wesson is amazing and looks just like polished stainless steel. Very nice indeed!

Realism: The ASG Dan Wesson BB revolvers are as close as you can get to a real six shooter, ASG didn't leave out any details and has really brought us an extremely believable CO2 revolver that mimics the real steel in almost every way! Loading and ejecting actual brass shells into the cylinder makes you feel like this gun is much more then an unassuming airgun!

Purchased From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • It's a revolver with actual brass shells giving you the feeling of a real 6 shooter!

  • Almost all metal design.

  • lots of detail in this gun, very well made, fit and finish is excellent.

  • Good power and good accuracy.

  • Fully adjustable sights.

  • Can mount a scope of some sort on it with the rail attached.

  • Right amount of power, even for some indoor CQB style airsoft games

Cons:

  • Plastic CO2 screw tab (but is well hidden and protected).

  • Grips can wear a bit with extended use.

  • Red tip on the US version :(

Comments:

I wasn't really a revolver person until I got my Dan Wesson's! They are really fun to shoot and yes you only get to fire off 6 shots at a time but the reloading is kind of fun and adds to the realism of shooting a revolver styled gun. The other benefit to taking breaks every 6 shots to reload is the time it allows your CO2 and gun to warm up which increases the overall FPS and shots per CO2. I am not sure if a large six shot revolver is the way to go when in a high intensity Airsoft game but I can tell you when you're on the other end of the barrel of one of these you are probably not thinking how many shots does he have left :)

ASG Airsoft Pistol and Rifle Update Video

I just received some of my ASG Airsoft guns in my BC location and wanted to make an update video for you so you can see them up close and perhaps see how they stack up against their Airgun counterparts. Keep in mind many of my ASG guns are only available in the Canada Replica Airguns Store, we do have some ASG Airsoft guns for my US based customers but this time here in Canada I have more to offer my Canadian folks!

The Dan Wesson's, the Steyr M9-A1, STI Duty One 1911, CZ 75 P-07 Duty are all pretty much identical to my 4.5mm Steel BB shooting versions with the exception of not having blowback but the good news is the slides do in fact move on the semi autos! Of course the Dan Wesson is just made to accept 6mm Airsoft BB's rather than 4.5mm steel BB's.

I am also super impressed with the high quality of the LMT Defender M4 Carbines, they are a serious bit of gear and have some very good heft to them, even more so than my full metal King Arms M4A1 I already sell and have done a full review of, not to take anything away from the Kings Arms product as it is very good at its price point.

I also received my first sniper rifle and have played around with it a bit to see what it is capable of. I added a bipod to the front and a 3x9 power scope as the ASG AW .308 comes pretty bare bones but ready for all you can throw at it. I can say it likes heavier Airsoft BB's, as the .20 gram ones I started with seemed to fly off in all directions due to the high velocity, even stepping up to a .25 gram BB tightened my group up significantly at 30 feet. I have heard this rifle really prefers heavy Airsoft BB's so I plan do do my review based on that information.

Enjoy my Vimeo Video Update focusing on the new ASG Airsoft lineup.
