Novritsch SSR77 A1 AEG Airsoft Rifle Field Test Review

In this Field Test Shooting Video I test out the shooting performance of the Novritsch SSR77 A1 AEG Airsoft Rifle by shooting 5 rounds through my Chronograph and averaging them out. I then shot the Novritsch SSR77 A1 AEG Airsoft Rifle in both semi auto and full auto to find out what kind of groupings I can get shooting at a paper target setup 30 feet away. I have already made a Table Top Video where I go into the details and specifications along with some nice close up video, so if that interests, you then checkout the Video Review here.

I do have to say I had to rerecord my Review Video a couple of times as the Novritsch SSR77 A1 AEG Airsoft Rifle did not like my first choice of Airsoft BB brand, as it was not consistently loading BB’s which made testing near impossible. I kind of gave up on it and thought it may be defective, but then I switched up Airsoft BB Brand and this seemed to fix the problem entirely. This goes to show that finding the correct Airsoft BB’s for your particular Airsoft Rifle or Airgun can be very important in operation and performance. I did end up using .25 gram Airsoft BB’s for all of my Testing in this video review which means my Chronograph rating will be a bit lower than if I had used the standard .20 gram Airsoft BB’s I generally use. That said I did get an average velcoity using .25 gram Airsoft BB’s of 365 fps, here are the readings for each shot… 367, 367, 364, 364, 363 fps. You can see the Novritsch SSR77 A1 AEG Airsoft Rifle is very consistent in terms of velocity with only a 4 fps difference between all 5 shots.

Since the Novritsch SSR77 A1 AEG Airsoft Rifle can shoot in both semi and full auto, I tested it first using the built in optical scope shooting 10 rounds in semi auto again using the .25 gram Airsoft BB’s and it shot a very accurate 1 inch grouping at my target setup 30 feet away. I do use a rested shooting position sitting on a stool in the back and my hands rested on a sandbag up front. I did not adjust the scope and just shot the Novritsch SSR77 A1 AEG Airsoft Rifle right out of the box, it did shoot about 3 inches low on my target setup 30 feet away, but was bang on left to right. I could easily adjust my aim point with the optical scope settings. By pulling the trigger in all the way, I am able to shoot in full auto which is nice not having to use a selector switch. My Full Auto test was also very accurate with the grouping opening up a bit to around 2.5 to 3 inches but I did shoot at least another 40-50 shots so that is expected.

I don’t really know what to think of the look of a Novritsch SSR77 A1 AEG Airsoft Rifle, to me thy look like something out of a sci-fi movie and personally it is not the most attractive Rifle to me. Functionally it works well being a Bullpup design which allows for a shorter rifle with a longer barrel. I for sure can not complain with how the Novritsch SSR77 A1 AEG Airsoft Rifle performed as the velocity is exactly where I would want it to be and accuracy was as good as any Airsoft Rifle I have test. The Novritsch SSR77 A1 AEG Airsoft Rifle is a bit picky with Airsoft BB choice, so make sure to test out your Airsoft BB’s before committing to buying a bunch. If you do like the look and style of a Steyr AUG based Rifle then I would for sure recommend buying yourself the Novritsch SSR77 A1 AEG Airsoft Rifle as it is ready to go out of the box with no upgrading required.

Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle Field Test Review

In this Field Test Shooting video for the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle, I test it out to see what to expect in terms of velocity in fps by shooting several rounds through my Chronograph and averaging them out. I also shot the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle both in semi and full auto on a paper target setup 30 feet away to see if I can get a decent grouping in both semi and full auto. If you want information like details and specifications, then checkout my Table Top Review for the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rife located at this link.

Starting with power and velocity, I loaded up the magazine with as much gas as I could get into it, along with enough .20 gram Airsoft BB’s to average out at least 5 shots. I ended up using 6 shots in total for an average of 393 fps. Each individual shot was as follows… 427, 383, 368, 410, 406, 363 FPS. The temperature in the Indoor Airgun Sea Can Shooting Range was around 20 degree Celsius or 68 degrees Fahrenheit, so not overly warm or cool, In cooler or warmer temperatures the velocity will go up and down a little bit.

Moving on to accuracy, I first performed my test with the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle in semi auto to see what kind of 10 shot grouping I could get. I did not make any sight adjustments and just shot it right out of the box. My standard test is from 30 feet out shooting using a seated position in the back with my hands on a sand bag up front, this allows for a fairly stable shooting position. I did up the weight of my Airsoft BB’s to .25 grams which can help a little bit with accuracy, but I would suggest going even heavier with this Airsoft Rifle, perhaps try out .30 gram Airsoft BB’s. That said I was able to get a 3 inch 10 shot grouping that shot several inches below the bullseye I was aiming at, and just slightly to the left but not by much. I then switched over to full auto and probably should have aimed higher since this Gas Blowback Airsoft Rifle really kicks and moves around. Unfortunately most of my full auto shots went low and did not record on the paper so it is hard to say what the spread of the group was in Full Auto but I know it did open up a lot.

I really enjoy shooting and testing out Gas Blowback Airsoft Rifles since most are generally AEG and don’t have all the recoil and blowback action. GBB Airsoft Rifles not only look and feel much more real, that blowback action simulates the trigger feel and shooting experience so much more. Compared to an AEG velocity is less consistent not only between shots but as you shoot the gas cools down the Airgun resulting in slower and slower velocity which is even more noticeable in full auto when using a GBB Airsoft Rifle. I would personally use the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle mostly in semi auto as it shot very reliably in semi auto, full auto is a bit chaotic and your accuracy really suffers in full auto. The Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle is about as realistic as you can get to experiencing a real steel AR type Rifle but it is fairly expensive at the end of the day and in terms of perforce you will get more out of even a middle of the road AEG Airsoft Rifle. So if realism is more important than performance and lower cost, I would go with something like the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle.

Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle Field Test Review

If you like or own a Ruger 10/22 then the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle might be just what you are looking for as it shares a lot in common with the Ruger 10/22 22LR but of course this one is 6mm Airsoft which means you can buy it and shoot it a lot easier at least here in Canada with no license or registration required. In this Indoor Shooting Field Test Video I checkout the velocity in fps and I also shoot 10 rounds into a paper target setup 30 feet down range to see if it is capable of getting a decent grouping. If you want information like details and specifications along with nice close up video of the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle then click on this link to watch my Table Top Review Video for it.

Starting with power/velocity. I loaded up the magazine with .20 gram Airsfot BB’s and stuffed as much Gas into the magazine as it would hold, I then proceeded to shoot 5 Airsoft BB’s through my Cronograph resulting in an average of 318 fps. The actual recorded shots were as follows: 321, 313, 318, 320, 320 fps. The temperature was perhaps a bit below actual room temperature on this day but it was not cold at all as you can see since I was wearing my trademark wife beater… In warmer conditions I would assume a slightly higher velocity could be achieved but the result I got was well suited for close quarters shooting.

Moving on to the accuracy for the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle. Since it did not come with any actual sights, I had to steel a red dot from one of my Crosman AR BB Rifles, I did not adjust the red dot hoping it would at least get shots on the pepper and it did for the most part, but it was shooting on the high side. Some of the shots did get up into the metal clip but from what I could see after shooting an additional 7 shots (all I had left in the mag), the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle was shooting groupings about 2 inch from 30 feet away. A respectable result using .20 gram Airsoft BB’s, heavier BB’s will generally get tighter groupings. I was not concerned with shot placement as I did not sight in the red dot at all before shooting.

Again, if you like shooting something like a Ruger 10/22 then you will be totally at home with the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle, it may even be somewhat cross compatible with Ruger 10/22 accessories but I am not 100% sure. I had no issues with the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle in terms of blowback operation or BB’s cycling properly for me and the trigger is really nice on it, vey similar to what you would find on a real steel Ruger 10/22. The blowback action is not overly heavy as it is just the bolt that rocks back and forth. I also found that you can easily get through the 36 round magazine on a single gas fill with gas left to spare even when shooting fast. The Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle is not a cheap Airsoft Rifle, it’s actually more money than an real steel Ruger 10/22 but once you have it, you can shoot the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle for pennies a shot and in a lot more locations. No need for a gun range or wilderness setting.

March 2025 Mystery Box Unboxing Preview

In this Mystery Box Unboxing Video I take a look at three Airsoft products, two pistols from Umarex and two AEG Airsoft Rifles from Specna Arms. As this is essentially an Unboxing Preview Video, I don’t go into a lot of detail for each item as this is my first real exposure to these items for the most part. I will be making full Table Top and Field Test Video for each item once I get to know them a bit better and share all the specifications and features along with shooting performance.

Starting with the Umarex products, I did get the chance to checkout the Umarex Smith & Wesson 629 CO2 Airsoft Revolver at this years SHOT Show, and it is a very solid shell loading 44 Magnum styled Revolver with full Smith and Wesson licensing. From what I remember this item may only come in the Airsoft version at the time of this review and it does have a claimed velocity of 500 which may be a bit hot for Airsoft games but it would be a lot of fun shooting at pop cans and the likes.

The second Umarex products is a pretty basic mostly clear plastic Spring Powered Beretta 92 FS Airsoft Pistol. It is fairly light weight with it’s mostly all plastic construction and the velocity is also on the lower side at only around 250 fps. Since it is distributed by Umarex it carries the Beretta licensing which is nice and all, but on a clear plastic gun I am not sure if is really a major feature.

The first Airsoft Rifle out of the Mystery Box was the Specna Arms SA-FX11 FLEX AEG Airsoft Rifle which is your standard AR configuration, mine was the shorter barrel version but it does come in a longer barrel version as well. The top and bottom receiver and most of the outer components are going to be Nylon Fiber Reinforced Plastic. It does include features like Rotational Hop Up Chamber, SA ETU™ Optical Electronic System Optimizes for improved trigger response and Quick Spring Change System to name a few.

Something I don’t see too often are Pink Assault Rifles! So it was nice to get the pink version of the Specna Arms SA-FX02 FLEX AEG Airsoft Rifle. It does come in a Black and Tan version along with an all Black configuration. It’s really a great looking AEG Airsoft Rifle in any color you decide to go with, and I like the compact feel it has with lots of options for mounting accessories on the top bottom and side rails. You can get going right away using the included pop-up front and rear sights or throw a red dot or optical sight on it.

Novritsch SSR77 AEG Airsoft Rifle Table Top Review

Type: Airsoft AEG Rifle.
Manufacturer: Novritsch.
Model: SSR77.
Materials: Metal and plastic.
Weight: 7.72 pounds (3.5 kg).
Total Length: 33 inches (85cm).
Barrel Length: 20 inches (51cm).
Barrel: Metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: AEG.
Action: Semi and full auto single action only two stage trigger.
Hop-up: Adjustable hop-up via ejection port.
Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 180 round full size drop out transparent plastic magazine.
FPS: 400.

Trigger Pull: The trigger on the Novritsch SSR77 AEG Airsoft Rifle is very different from most triggers I have used. It is a two stage trigger where in stock out of the box mode allows for a partial pull of the trigger to shoot in semi auto with a full pull of the trigger allowing for full auto. You can program the two stages of the trigger using the ETU to function differently than out of the box by setting up the semi auto stage to do a double tap so it will shoot when you pull the trigger lightly, and then as you release the trigger it will shoot a second time. You can also change the full auto full trigger pull to shoot in burst mode rather than full auto. There are a number of configurations you can choose from.

Accuracy: I have not shot the Novritsch SSR77 AEG Airsoft Rifle or tested it out so far here in the Sea Can indoor shooting range, so I don’t really have a lot to say in terms of accuracy or if it is close to the claimed 400 fps by Novritsch. I will be making a full dedicated Field Test Shooting Video for it shortly when I get caught up with all my Field Test Shooting Videos. Stay posted for that upcoming Field Test Shooting Video.

Build Quality: Novritsch is a new product line for me so I have not really had hands on with any of their guns so far. My first impressions are that Novritsch makes very good quality Airsoft products using high quality materials such as solid fiber-reinforced nylon and CNC machined aluminum with well thought out designs. The Novritsch SSR77 AEG Airsoft Rifle is on the heavier side as it is very well built with lots of metal where you would expect it to be, similar to the real steel Steyr AUG.

Realism: The Novritsch SSR77 AEG Airsoft Rifle is a very believable Airsoft Replica of the Steyr UAG Bullpup Rifle. It even weighs about the same at 7.72 pounds. It is an AEG Airsoft Rifle so mechanical the internals are very different but the controls do work for the most part in a similar fashion, like the selector controls, magazine release, charging handle for access to the hop-up and the barrel is even removable like there real steel version. The Novritsch SSR77 AEG Airsoft Rifle does come preinstalled with an orange flash hider which takes away from there realism, but that can be removed and replaced with something different.

Pros:

  • Comes with the 3x optics scope built into the build design.

  • Programable trigger allows for a lot of combinations of semi, burst and full auto shooting choices.

  • Bullpup design makes the rifle more compact in terms of length but you still have a longer barrel.

  • Build materials are of high quality.

  • Does incorporate a Quick Spring change system.

  • CNC Hop-Up Chamber & Nozzle.

  • Unique trigger setup allows for simultaneous semi and full auto shooting, short pull for Semi Auto and long pull for Full Auto.

  • See though magazine so you can see how full it is.

  • Sling mount up front and on rear stock.

  • Good replica of the Steyr AUG.

  • With the barrel removed it is very compact and easy to transport.

Cons:

  • Is on the heavier side.

  • Hope you like the scope as it is the only option as it is built into the design.

  • I’m not a fan of the look.

  • Programming the trigger is a bit complicated.

Comments:

Personally I do not like the look of the Steyr AUG but it is growing on me a little bit. Practically speaking it is a really well thought out riffle using the bullpup design to keep it short even with a longer 20 inch barrel. It is also nice that the 3x optical scope is built into the deign of the Novritsch SSR77 AEG Airsoft Rifle so you are all setup but if you want something like a red dot or maybe higher powered scope your options are going to be very limited. The two stage trigger setup is really cool, you can shoot in either semi or full auto just by how you press the trigger rather than having to change between the two options like most semi and full auto rifles. Some other positives are the see through magazine, the quick spring change system, being sling ready and the ability to shorten the gun up significantly for transport by removing the barrel. A very unique AEG Airsoft Rifle for sure.

Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle Table Top Review

Type: Airsoft GBB Rifle.
Manufacturer: Novritsch.
Model: SSQ22.
Materials: Metal and plastic.
Weight: 4 pounds (1.8 kg).
Total Length: 32.7 inches (83cm).
Barrel Length: 14.6 inches (37cm).
Barrel: Metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: Green gas.
Action: Semi auto single action only trigger.
Hop-up: Adjustable top mount hop-up.
Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 36 round full size drop out plastic/metal magazine.
FPS: 400+.

Trigger Pull: The Single Action Only trigger pull on the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle is a lot like what you would find on a real steel Ruger 10/22. It is short and light in action making it light and quick enough for action shooting or sniping with accuracy from long range. You will have to work the bolt to load an Airsoft BB in to the breach and ready the single action trigger for the first shot, but then the blowback action will do that for you for the rest of the shots.

Accuracy: I have not shot the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle or tested it out so far, so I don’t really have much to say in terms of accuracy or if it is close to the claimed 400+ fps, but I will be making a full dedicated Field Test Shooting Video for it a bit down the road when I get caught up with my Field Test Shooting Videos. So until then we will have to wait and see,

Build Quality: Novritsch is a new product line for me so I have not had much hands on with any of their guns so far. My first impressions are that they make very good quality Airsoft products using high quality materials with well thought out designs. The Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle is not super heavy even though it does incorporate a fair amount of metal components including CNC machined aluminum.

Realism: The Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle is not an exact copy or Replica of a Ruger 10/22 22LR Rifle but it does share a lot of its design and mechanical functions. Most people when they buy a base Ruger 10/22 generally do a lot of upgrading and modifications to them that ultimately make it look a lot more like the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle at the end of the day. As it is Gas Blowback it functions very similar to the real steel version with working blowback action which does give a bit of recoil to it and allows for a very nice short and light single action trigger.

Pros:

  • Mostly all metal design.

  • Gas-efficient nozzle assembly, CNC machined Hop-Up chamber, and Maple Leaf 60° bucking with a large nub surface.

  • Easy to access and adjustable hop-up, up to 0.46g BBs out of the box.

  • Multiple M-LOK Mounting Options (Sides and bottom).

  • Three preinstalled QD Sling mounts on each side.

  • Front groove similar to gas pistol mags. You can see how many BBs are left in your magazine.

  • Skeletonized stock with a rubber pad that is attached to a Picatinny rail.

  • Nice GBB recoil with each shot.

  • Compact and light weight, easy to carry on the filed.

  • Ruger 10/22 owners will be use to this design.

Cons:

  • Does not come with any sights, will need to add one.

  • Only shoots in semi auto to conserve ammo.

  • Has preinstalled orange tip but can be removed.

Comments:

I am always a sucker for Gas Blowback Airguns in general and with Airsoft Rifles the vast majority tend to be AEG’s, so when I get the chance to review a GBB Airsoft rifle, I am always a bit excited to do so. The Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle has a lot going for it, there are lots of metal parts where you want them to be, a great single action trigger, mounting options for a red dot or optical sight along with M-LOK on the sides and bottom for whatever accessories you plan to add to it. It’s nice that it starts out pretty light as the addition of a scope, perhaps a foregrip, maybe a taclight and or laser will bring up the weight. I most certainly am looking forward to the Field Test Shooting Video so I can see how this one performs.

KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle Field Test Review

In this Field Test Shooting Video for the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle, I checkout the velocity and power here in the Replica Airguns Indoor Airgun Shooting Range, to find out if the real world velocity is in the ballpark of the claimed 450+ fps velocity by KJWorks. I also shoot 10 rounds into a paper target from a distance of 30 feet to see how accurate of a grouping I can get. If you are interested in details, specifications and more close up video along with the Pro’s and Con’s for the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle, then checkout my Table Top Video Review for it here.

Starting first with my velocity test, I loaded up the magazine with propane gas along with a full magazine of .20 gram Airsoft BB’s. The temperature was around 20 degrees Celsius or 68 degrees Fahrenheit, so not super warm or cold, in warmer conditions I would expect slightly higher fps from the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle. KJWorks claims 450+ fps and my testing came pretty close to this with my five Chronograph readings hitting: 468, 451, 435, 436, 426 fps. Averaging 443 fps.

Next I made sure I still had 10 Airsoft rounds in the magazine and placed a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and shot all 10 rounds into the target using a semi rested shooting position, with my hands on a sand bag up front and sitting on a stool in the back. This allows me fairly stable shooting with less human factor. I did have to aim a few inches low on the center of the target as the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle does shoot a bit high at 30 feet. 7 out of the 10 rounds hit all within about 2 inches of each other and then three rounds came out of the group increasing the 10 shot grouping from 2 inches to around 5 inches. I am wondering if perhaps I had some miss-formed Airsoft BB’s in the bunch as the shots that came out, really did come out a lot compared to the tighter 2 inch 7 shot main grouping.

Overall the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle performed well, the velocity was right on the mark and was fairly consistent dropping off a bit as the Rifle cooled down from the gas. Accuracy was very good side to side but up and down I did notice more variation. The trigger is a double action only trigger so it is a bit longer and heavier than a real steel Ruger MK1 that is known for its beautiful short and light Single Action Trigger. Still the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle performed well and I think with some good quality Airsoft BB’s, perhaps even a bit heavier than I used in this test, one could improve the accuracy at range and really be able to use this for some longer range outdoor Airsoft games. As it is a fairly light and short Rifle it would make for a super easy to pack around sniper rifle option.

Replica Airguns March 2025 Mystery Box Unboxing

In this months Replica Airguns Mystery Unboxing Preview Video, I take a look at 4 new items that showed up at my door. Two Airsoft Rifles, one being AEG and the other one a GBB. I also received two accessories for the GEM Alias super tiny multi ammo CO2 Pistol, A .50 caliber Paintball Barrel for it and and a 12 gram CO2 Adapter.

Both Airsoft Rifles are new to me from a company called Novritsch which is a higher end brand so the pricing is not cheap for either Airsoft Rifle. It was nice to get an AEG and GBB to review, the Novritsch SSR77 AEG Airsoft Rifle is a Replica of the Steyr AUG while the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle is essentially a custom modded Ruger 10/22 copy, at least from what I can tell, it is solid and really well built.

I have already made a Table Top Video for the GEM Alias CO2 Pistol but I have been waiting for the .50 Caliber Paintball Barrel to show up so I can test out all 4 barrel ammo options. I also really wanted the 12 gram CO2 Adapter so I don’t have to use the small 8 gram CO2’s which are harder to find and not as cost effective as the 12 gram CO2. So now I am totally ready to make the GEM Field Test Shooting Review.

Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol Field Test Review

It’s been a while since I made a Field Test Shooting Video, probably well before I went to SHOT Show. I have been working on my SHOT Show 2025 Videos but those Interview Videos are all done and now it’s time to get caught up on some Field Test Shooting Video I have been wanting to make. So today I was able to make my Field Test Review Video for the Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol and for some this is a pretty entry level BB Pistol many might overlook but if you are simply looking for a 1911 based BB Pistol that is super inexpensive to buy, and cheap to shoot, and you don’t need quick semi auto shooting. Then the Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol Field Test Review could be an option for you. Make sure to watch my Table Top Review Video for the Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol for Details, Specifications, Pros and Cons and some nice close up video.

In this video I test out both the velocity and accuracy and I guess to some degree the usability so lets get started with the Velocity or fps portion of the testing. I loaded up the Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol with a half full hopper of 4.5 mm Steel BB’s, so around 100 BB’s which is way more than I needed and I shot 5 rounds through my Chronograph hitting the following fps: 191, 193, 188, 195, 197 which averaged 193 fps. Umarex claims a velocity of up to 240 fps which I think is a bit high as temperature is not even a factor with a spring piston Airgun, so warmer conditions will not really make much of a difference here.

I then placed a brand new paper target on my backstop 30 feet down range and proceeded to shoot 10 rounds into it using a semi rested shooting position. Hands rested on a sand bag up front and sitting on a stool in the back. This generally gives me pretty good stability while performing these tests, but there is always some human factor to take into consideration. I was not all that impressed with the grouping I got, the Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol likes to fling BB’s around a bit. You an see them curl so maybe some miscellaneous spin is being added in the barrel but it is not a consistent spin so the BB’s kind of spray all over the target that ended up giving me around a 8 inch grouping. Usually I can get around a 2 inch grouping with a BB Pistol that is generally what I would consider to be good accuracy.

I wish the Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol Field had hit closer to the 240 claimed fps and was also a bit more accurate as it would then be more usable at the 30 foot range I tested it at. I would suggest if you buy or own this BB Pistol, that you shoot it at targets closer in at 10-20 feet as the poor velocity and accuracy would be a lot less noticeable at these ranges and for that purpose it would be just fine. If you want a super low cost BB Pistol option that is also a decent looking 1911 Replica, and that you don’t need to go out and buy any CO2 to use it. Then take a look at one in our Replica Airguns Online Store. Heck, it’s only $19 US and $29 CAN right now!

BUG-A-SALT 3.0 Salt Gun Table Top Review

Type: Pump Spring Piston.
Manufacturer: BUG-A-SALT.
Model: BUG-A-SALT 3.0.
Materials: Metal and plastic.
Weight: 1.5 pounds (680 grams).
Total Length: 21.5 inches (54.6cm).
Barrel Length: 8 inches (20.3cm).
Barrel: Plastic non-rifled.
Propulsion: Spring.
Action: Pump SAO.
Effective Distance: 3 feet.
Ammunition Type: Standard table salt.
Ammunition Capacity: 80 round hopper.
FPS: NA.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the BUG-A-SALT 3.0 Salt Gun is a Single Action Only trigger that requires you to work the pump action to load salt and prepare the hammer to fire in Single Action. There is a little bit of takeup and then a medium trigger pull weight that is about right for a pest control tool like this, as you do not want a super light trigger that could go off unintentionally. When you work the action using the pump, the real sight also pops up not only so you can use it but also to indicate that the BUG-A-SALT 3.0 Salt Gun is loaded and ready to fire.

Accuracy: So far I have not fired or tested out the BUG-A-SALT 3.0 Salt Gun as it is not the time of year for bugs just yet, so that portion of my review is going to have to wait until at least spring time when the bugs and flies come out in full force. I will not be making my traditional Field Test Shooting Video where I shoot at a Paper target setup 30 feet away, or even testing out the velocity in fps as the BUG-A-SALT 3.0 Salt Gun is only rated to shoot up to 3 feet away and I’m not sure how a blast of salt would even be read by a Chronograph or if that information is even important for a fly exterminator like this. I will be making some sort of shooting video for the BUG-A-SALT 3.0 Salt Gun when I am able to find bugs to blast…

Build Quality: The BUG-A-SALT 3.0 Salt Gun is made out of mostly plastic with I assume some metal working parts internally. Even the internal barrel is plastic since you are only shooting salt. The BUG-A-SALT 3.0 Salt Gun does feel solid and the working parts like the pump action, trigger and safety feel durable enough. The salt hopper lid may be a bit flimsy and if that breaks I’m not sure how one would keep the salt in the hopper?

Realism: The BUG-A-SALT 3.0 Salt Gun is not a replica gun to speak of, it kind of looks like a pistol grip pump action shotgun but there is really no way I feel anyone would mistake the BUG-A-SALT 3.0 Salt Gun for a real gun, this is probably good since you may want to keep it out lying around in your house for when you may need to do some bug blasting.

Pros:

  • Very unique product, not a lot of competition in the market.

  • Makes eliminating flies and bugs a lot more fun, would be fun at get togethers or parties.

  • Fairly well built, feels solid and durable.

  • Low cost to operate, only requires table salt.

  • Can get up to 80 shots per loaded salt hopper.

  • Can shoot flies up to 3 feet away.

  • Easy to access cross bolt safety.

  • Auto pop-up rear sight lets you know it is loaded and ready to fire.

  • SAO Trigger is relatively decent.

  • No bug guts mess to cleanup.

Cons:

  • Not suitable for larger bugs with hard exoskeletons like wasps or larger. Really only meant for flies.

  • Not a toy as it could be assumed it is. So be careful around kids as an eye shot could be very painful and cause injury.

  • Price is a lot more than a fly swatter that also gets the job done.

Comments:

If you hate flies as much as I do and would like a more sportsman like way to eliminate them rather than your standard fly swatter that basically mushes the fly into a bloody mess on what ever surface you mash it into. Then perhaps something like the BUG-A-SALT 3.0 Salt Gun may be just perfect for you. I am hoping it works as good as the advertising says it does. Based on some of the reviews I have watched it seems ideal for flies but may not so good for larger insects with hard exoskeletons. You are going to pay a lot more for the BUG-A-SALT 3.0 Salt Gun than a dollar store fly swatter will cost you, but I can guarantee you will have a lot more fun using it and no need for the messy bug juice clean up after a kill shot.

KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle Table Top Review

Type: Airsoft Gas Rifle.
Manufacturer: KJWorks.
Model: MK1 Carbine.
Materials: Metal and plastic.
Weight: 2.71 pounds (1.23 kg).
Total Length: 33 inches (83.8cm).
Barrel Length: 17 inches (43.2cm).
Barrel: Metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: Green Gas.
Action: Semi auto double action only trigger.
Hop-up: Adjustable metal Hop-up.
Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 17 round full size drop out metal magazine.
FPS: 450+.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle is double action only which will make it a bit longer and heavier than the real steal Ruger MK1 as it is Single Action Only. The trigger is smooth however and does have a nice satisfying click to it that sounds like a firing pin being release. The unfortunate part is that the real steel version has an amazing single action only trigger so the contrast between the Airsoft and 22LR version may make this gun not as practical is an optional training tool if you own the 22LR version.

Accuracy: This part of the review is yet to be determined as I have not done my Field Test or Shooting Test for this carbine, so stay posted for my official Field Shooting Test. For now you can watch my Ruger MK I Gas version Field Test Shooting Review to get an idea on how the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle version should perform, as they are very similar with the Carbine version having a longer barrel and shoulder stock added to it with should increase the velocity and perhaps the accuracy a bit.

Build Quality: KJWorks as usual distributes quality Airguns, the fit and finish on the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle is very good and there is good use of metal where it needs to be like with the upper receiver, the inner and outer barrel, the bolt and other internal mechanical parts, the trigger, the safety, the rear fully adjustable sight and the full size drop out metal magazine that holds the Gas and the Airsoft BB's.

Realism: The KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle is based on real steel Ruger MK1 and looks very close to it for the most part. There is no blowback operation or bolt operation so that means that only a double action trigger is possible, this is a bit unfortunate since the real Ruger MK1 has an absolutely beautiful smooth and light single action trigger. On the positive side you can field strip the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle just like the real version but you will need to remove the rear stock that covers the area you need to get to to field strip it.

Pros:

  • If you own a real Ruger 22LR you will be use to the design layout.

  • Adjustable rear sight for windage and elevation.

  • Metal hop-up for backspin tuning.

  • Full size all metal drop out magazine that holds the Airsoft BB’s and gas.

  • Satisfying trigger sound, sounds like a real firing pin a bit, not clanky like many other Airguns.

  • Full Metal upper and barrel.

  • Metal rear sight, bolt, trigger and magazine.

  • Non blowback helps with velocity and gas efficiency.

  • Field strips like original MK Series (will need to remover rear stock).

Cons:

  • No blowback so longer DAO trigger not like the real steel Ruger MK 1.

  • Some reviewers claim the hop-up is hard to adjust.

  • May be a bit too powerful for use in close quarters Airsoft games.

Comments:

The KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle is really just a modified MK1 Pistol by adding a longer barrel and rear shoulder stock to the pistol grip. I guess it is a good use of an already popular pistol design to give us a light weight and somewhat compact Airsoft sniper rifle for Airsoft games as it does have a fairly high velocity claim. Because of the high 450+ fps I would not recommend it to anyone playing in close quarters as it could injure other players so keep that in mind. If you are looking for a lower cost and fairly compact Sniper Rifle for some outdoor shooting, then it might be just the right pick for that. I am hoping my upcoming Field Test Shooting Video showcases it nicely so keep checking back for that Review Video down the road a bit.

Alias GEM Multi Ammo Mini CO2 Airgun Table Top Review

Type: Multi-Ammo Pistol.
Distributer: Alies Airguns.
Model: GEM.
Materials: Mostly metal with some plastic build.
Weight: Barrel dependent.
Total Length: Barrel dependent 3.5 inches (89mm) with BB and Airsoft Barrels.
Barrel: Barrel dependent 2 inches (51mm) with BB and Airsoft Barrels
Propulsion: 8 or 12 gram CO2 (12 Gram CO2 required adaptor sold separately).
Action: Break Barrel / Single shot.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm Steel BB's / 6mm Airsoft BB’s (Can also purchase .117 Pellet, .50 & .43 cal Paintball, 9mm Arrow Barrels)
Ammunition Capacity: 1 round.
FPS: up to 400 using 4.5mm Steel BB’s.

Trigger Pull: The Alias GEM Multi Ammo Mini CO2 Airgun is a true single action only pistol that requires the pulling back of the hammer for each shot. This does give it a very nice trigger action that is short to medium in length with an easy release. The makeup is about medium for a single action trigger with a bit of an unpredictable release as there is no point in time that you feel it breaking on you. This can be good or bad depending on how you like your triggers as it is hard to tel when ti will actually release but the smoothness makes it a good trigger overall in my opinion

Accuracy: I have not shot the Alias GEM Multi Ammo Mini CO2 Airgun at all so far as it requires 8 gram CO2 and so I am waiting on the 12 gram adaptor for it before I can even give it a quick try. I will be making a full Field test Review for it swapping between a bunch of barrel options to see how each barrel adn ammo type performs in terms of power adn accuracy so stay posted for that video down the road a bit.

Build Quality: Build quality for the Alias GEM Multi Ammo Mini CO2 Airgun is very good with an almost all metal build other than the front and back sights, the trigger, the safety adn the barrel release. I kind of wish these parts were also metal as the rest of the Airgun is so pristine! The weight of this pistol feels very dense as it is so small yet has a good weight. The fir and finishes is all very good with the chrome finish on most parts and even the inclusion of what I believe are real gem stones on each side of the grips. The mechanical parts are also smooth and precise.

Realism: As far as I know the Alias GEM Multi Ammo Mini CO2 Airgun is not a replica of any production real steel gun that I am aware of. It looks to me like some sort of futuristic compact laser pistol? In terms of gun shape and what we are use to in terms of what a gun is it checks most of the boxes but it is it’s own design for sure.

Pros:

  • Super compact design, probably the smallest Airgun available.

  • Multiple quick change barrel and ammo options.

  • Mostly all metal build, very high quality materials.

  • Nice smooth and light SAO trigger.

  • Able to also use 12 gram CO2 with optional adapter.

  • Comes in different colors (red or black).

  • Decent velocity up to 400 fps depending on ammo type.

  • Eye-catching chrome and gemstone detailing make it a collector's piece.

Cons:

  • Uses 8 grams CO2 standard, harder to get and more expensive.

  • Only a single shot, not an action shooter.

  • On the pricy side at over $300 Canadian.

Comments:

I have to say that the Alias GEM Multi Ammo Mini CO2 Airgun is not going to be for everyone as the price point is up there a bit for such a simple single action gun. That said it is super unique and the quality adn design is top notch. It may in fact be the smallest CO2 Airgun on the market adn you can literally put it in your front pocket easily. That combined with all the barrel and ammo options makes it super flexible if you plan on shooting a variety of different ammo types. Like I said in the video you may even be able to get away with buying it as a gift for your wife or girlfriend since it technically can be defined as being jewelry with the imbedded Gem stones in the grips. That may be a bit of a stretch unless she is also an Airgun fan.

Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol Table Top Review

Type: BB air pistol.
Distributer: Umarex.
Model: DSX 45.
Materials: Mostly plastic build.
Weight: 1.25 pounds (567 grams).
Total Length: 9.25 inches (235mm).
Barrel: 4.5 inches (114mm), non-rifled.
Propulsion: Spring.
Action: Repeater/Single shot.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm Steel BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 13 round spring fed with 200 round BB reservoir.
FPS: 240.

Trigger Pull: The single action only trigger pull on the Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol is actually pretty decent. I would say it has a short to medium length with only a little bit of light take up and then an easy release that has no additional friction. You will have to cock the slide back for each shot which also cocks the hammer back allowing for a true single action trigger. The trigger its self is not like a traditional 1911 trigger in terms of looks but it does work well.

Accuracy: I have briefly shot the Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol so I could make some initial comments about its performance as it is a very new product to me. I will be making a full Field Test Shooting Video down the road but for now I can say it performed a lot better than I was expecting. The claimed 240 fps seems believable to me as shots at 20 feet hit the target with very little delay and even at 30 feet the delay was acceptable. In terms of accuracy, out of the box, for the most part hit the target at both 20 adn 30 feet very close to where I was aiming which is what you are hopping for.

Build Quality: Build quality for the Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol is also better than I would expect from a $29 Canadian almost all plastic BB Pistol. Everything felt nice and tight and fit and finish was good in general. There is even some metal where they could have gone with cheaper plastic, for example it has a metal trigger and slide catch release that is actually the safety. Of course the barrel and some other internal parts are going to be metal along with screws and such.

Realism: The Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol is a fairly believable replica of a more modern 1911 45 caliber semi auto pistol. Other than it being mostly plastic and much lower in weight, at around 1.25 pounds, the Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol does look the part with a working slide (for cocking the spring), a full size drop out magazines, a recessed barrel and a lot of detail in the finishing of it. I find it to be a little bit wider than a real 1911 would be in the grips and even the main frame and slide by just a bit.

Pros:

  • Super low coast to buy and shoot, no CO2 required, just need 4.5mm Steel BB’s and away you go.

  • Shoots pretty good, BB’s got to the target a lot faster than I was expecting them to and they shot where I was aiming in general.

  • Decent looking Replica of a modern 1911 Semi Auto Pistol.

  • Has a picatinny rail for adding accessories if you want to.

  • Single Action Trigger is pretty decent, a bit of take up but medium light weight to it.

  • Has a close to full size magazine that looks the part.

  • Magazine has a 200 round hopper capacity with 13 rounds being loaded into the feeder at a time.

  • Safety is worked into the slide catch release which adds to the realism in terms of looks.

  • Recessed barrel for added realism.

  • Actual working hammer you can de-cock if you want to for a bit of added safety.

Cons:

  • Almost all plastic other than some internal metal parts like the barrel and spring and some other stuff I am sure.

  • Takes a bit of effort to cock it which is required for each shot.

  • Sights are not adjustable and are all black with no white dots.

  • A bit beefy for smaller handed shooters.

Comments:

The Umarex DSX 45 Spring BB Pistol is a super inexpensive BB Pistol but don’t let that stop you from considering it to add to your collection. It has a lot going for it in my opinion. First off the price is super low to buy and to shoot, you only need a bunch of BB’s and you can shoot all day for a couple of bucks. It looks pretty believable as a 1911 Replica. The build quality and detail is a lot better than you should get for only $30 dollars here in Canada and when I quickly tried it out, it actually shot pretty hard for a spring BB Pistol and it seemed to hit the target right where I aimed even at 30 feet away. It even has a full size magazine that holds 200 rounds with a quick load 13 round spring feeding system to keep the fun going. Kind of a no brainer if you’re looking for a cheap and fun time.
