In this Indoor Field Test Shooting Review, I put the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol through its paces and find out what we can expect in terms of power and accuracy by first averaging 5 shots through my Chronograph to see what the real world velocity is in fps. I then shoot 10 rounds into a paper target setup 30 feet down range to see if I can get a decent grouping somewhere near the bullseye out of the box. If you are looking for specification and details along with some closer up video of the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol then make sure watch my Table Top Review located here.
First up I performed the power test using .20 gram Airsoft BB’s. I put a brand new 12 gram CO2 in the pistol and averaged the first 5 shots which gave me a 318 fps average. The actual shoots were as follows: 331, 322, 315, 312, 308. I didn’t take notice of the temperature but in generally I keep my Sea Can at around room temperature so not overly warm or cold. There is a barrel extension that comes with this Airsoft Pistol which will give you a bit higher velocity when installed, but I did not test the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol with the barrel extension on it as mine was broken.
Moving on to the accuracy portion of the testing I setup a fresh paper target 30 feet away and put 10 rounds into it while sitting on a stool in the back with my hands resting on a sand bag up front. This gives me pretty good stability but is not perfect and there is always going to be some human factor that can effect accuracy a little bit. That said I did manage to get around a 2.5 inch 10 shot grouping with the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol that was pretty well centered hitting the target just a tad low and to the left but pretty close to center target.
All in all the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol did a good job once I took the broken off threads out of the barrel. The trigger is really nice on it, maybe even a bit light but you will get use to it over time. The blowback is snappy and the gun holds well in the hand, a real pleasure to shoot! I did notice the slide spring feels a bit weak when you release it as it does not snap into place with a lot of authority, but this does not effect the blowback action at all and the gun shot without any problems or hiccups. If you are looking for a quality Glock styled Airsoft Pistol then the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol would make a great option for sure.
Type: Blowback CO2 Airsoft Pistol. Manufacturer: Distributed by KJ Works. Model:KP-13 TBC. Materials: Metal & Polymer. Weight: 1.7 pounds (770 grams). Total Length: 8.25 inches (210mm) Barrel: 3.7 inches (95mm) metal non-rifled. Propulsion: CO2 x 1. Action: Semi auto blowback, SAO trigger. Ammunition Type: .6mm plastic Airsoft BB’s. Ammunition Capacity: 22 round drop out full size metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 360+.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is what you would expect from a true Single Action Only Trigger, which is nice and light and relatively short. There is some initial take up but you can feel the point near the back where the release kicks in which is extremely light and predictable with no play in it. Of course you will have to rack the slide in order to place a round in the breach and fire the first shot, after that the blowback action will do all the slide cycling for you.
Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol or made my Field Test Performance Video. I have already made a full Field Test and Shooting Video of the non-TBC version which is virtually the same Airsoft Pistol but without the threaded outer barrel extension. You can watch that Filed Test Video here where I get around 350 average fps and close to a 2 inch grouping shooting at a paper target setup 30 feet down range. Stay posted for my Full Field Test Shooting Video for the TBC version down the road.
Build Quality: The KJWorks line of Airsoft Guns is know for overall good quality so I expect the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol to be just the same. From my testing with the non TBC version and my initial first impressions, everything looks really good, fit and finish are excellent and as expected you will find metal parts and polymer parts in all the same places you would find them in a real steel modern semi auto pistol.
Realism: The KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is not an exact replica of a specific semi auto pistol but you could say it looks a little bit like a Glock ;) You need to be careful when it comes to Glock as they do not like it when companies copy their guns and rightly so. There is enough differences with the KJ Works KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol so it should not set off any red flags over at Glock. It’s good that there are various color options, tan, grey and black. It does seem that only the Tan and Grey two tone versions are available in the TBC version while the black version we seem to have available in the all black non-TBC version.
Pros:
Metal and Polymer with decent weight and good feel to it.
Heavy Full blowback operation.
Excellent fit and finish as always with KJWorks pistols.
High capacity full size drop out magazine that holds the CO2 and 22 rounds.
Well hidden safety incorporated into the serial number under the barrel.
Working trigger safety.
Super easy to see in all conditions fiber optic sight up front.
All working components like the real steel Glock styled pistol.
Comes with extended threaded outer barrel for adding a possible compensator or mock-suppressor.
Comes with barrel extension for higher velocity shooting.
Would make a good training weapon if you are use to using Glocks
Comes in Tan and Grey two tone options also.
Can use CO2 or gas magazines.
Field strip-able.
Cons:
Sights are not adjustable.
Would have liked the addition of white dots or outline on the rear sight.
Slide spring could be slightly heavier.
Comments:
Let’s be clear, the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is not a Glock Replica. It is different in many ways, the idea here is that it is close enough to be a good alternative if you are use to shooting Glocks and want something to train with that looks, feels and functions a lot like a traditional Glock. I am hoping the TBC version performs as well as the non-TBC version shot for me when I made my original Field Test Shooting Video back in 2023. For me the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol checks all the boxes… Full blowback operation, a very good trigger, lots of realism and I am sure good performance based on my past review.
It was nice to run into ASG (Action Sports Games) right away and talk with Bob for ASG. Bob always has a great understanding of the ASG product line and each year I Interview him and find out all the news and updated product in the ASG lineup. This year Bob’s goes over the new ASG CZ P-10 C CO2 Blowback BB Pistol, the Action Army C1 Pro Bolt Action CO2 Airsoft Rifle, ASG’s new Frag Impact Sound Grenades, along with some new additions to the Shadow 2 Series of Airsoft Pistols. Was a great start to this years SHOT Show 2025!
I’m back from SHOT Show 2025 Las Vegas and finished transferring and uploading all the video from all the cameras we shot it all on. We had a great time, we met a lot of great folks at the booths and it’s now time to put it all together and make some videos for everyone so I can share the experience!
I always like to put out a “Teaser Video” with some quick clips of the entire experience including some of the travels, a bit of the resort we stayed at, shots of Vegas and of course lots of the SHOT Show 2025 experience along with the booths we visited. Enjoy this quick preview and stay posted for my upcoming Interview Videos shortly…
This was a really fun Unboxing Video for me as I received something I feel a lot of Canadians might be really interested in protecting yourself in Canada is not a right especially if you use lethal force. So having a less lethal option is a really good idea.
Let’s get into what I found in this most recent Mystery Box in order of appearance…
The first item I unboxed was the KWC SP2022 CO2 NBB 4.5mm Steel BB Pistol. A pretty basic 4.5mm CO2 BB Pistol mostly made out of plastic but with a full size 21 round drop out metal magazine that does help a lot to add some much needed weight to this Airgun. It uses standard 12 gram CO2 with a claimed velocity of 450 fps.
Probably the most exciting item I pulled out of this months Mystery Box was the Gen2 Umarex P2P HDP 50 Rubber Ball purpose built Less-lethal solution for personal and family protection. Most of the similar Rubber ball Less-lethal Airguns I have tested generally do not pack enough punch to really be much of a deterrent in my opinion but the Gen2 Umarex P2P HDP 50 has a claimed 495 fps and when I tested it out after making this video it defiantly has some power. I would not want to be at the receiving end of this product especially in close proximity. The Gen2 Umarex P2P HDP 50 uses a traditional 12 gram CO2 and holds 6 rounds of rubber ball or powder ball, it does come with 10 of each to get you started.
Next I took a look at three KJWORKS Airsoft Pistols all of which came with CO2 Magazines, extension barrels and thread on tips. The KJWORKS KP-19, the KJWORKS M9A1 TBC, and the KJWORKS KP-13 TBC. As expected with KJWORKS Airsoft Guns, they looked really good and will be a joy to review and test out.
Last out of the Mystery Box was a new product from Umarex, a full sized Marlin Cowboy Lever Action BB Rifle in the style of the classic Red Ryder BB Gun but as mentioned in a larger size more suitable for an adult. Hey why do the kids get to have all the fun? The Umarex Marlin BB Rifle holds 650 rounds in its BB hopper and has a claimed fps pf 300. It also has an adjustable for elevation peep sight in the back with a metal lever and a Classic Faux Wood Finish.
In this velocity and accuracy Field Test Shooting Video for the ASG Cobray Ingram M11 NBB CO2 BB Machine Pistol, I test out the velocity in feet per second (FPS) using a brand new 12 gram CO2 loaded up with 4.5mm zinc coated Steel BB’s by averaging out 5 rounds shot through my Chronograph. ASG claims 394 fps on the box which sounds about right for a non blowback CO2 BB Pistols of this type. I then setup a fresh paper target 30 feet down range in the Replica Airguns Sea Can, and shoot 10 BB’s at it using a semi rested shooting position to find out how the ASG Cobray Ingram M11 NBB CO2 BB Machine Pistol performs and if it shoots near the bullseye out of the box, and if it can get a decently tight 10 shot grouping. If you have not already watched my Table Top Video Review for theASG Cobray Ingram M11, then make sure to watch it for details, specifications and some nice close up 4k video.
I start off my Field Test with velocity test of the ASG Cobray Ingram M11 NBB CO2 BB Machine Pistol by shooting 5 rounds through the Chronograph and then averaged them out. The slowest of the 5 shots was 397 fps while the fastest shot topped out at 409 fps, this averaged 399 fps which was slightly higher than claimed 394! Temperature was maybe a bit under 20 degrees Celsius, closer to 18 or 19 which in Fahrenheit is in the low to mid 60 degrees. It is likely the ASG Cobray Ingram M11 NBB CO2 BB Machine Pistol could reach higher fps velocities in warmer temperatures.
For the accuracy portion of the Filed Test I placed a fresh paper target 30 feet downrange, and using a semi rested shooting position (hands rested on a sandbag up front and sitting on a stool in the back) I placed 10 rounds into the target with the ASG Cobray Ingram M11 NBB CO2 BB Machine Pistol. The ASG Cobray Ingram M11 did end up shooting fairly well centered on the target with two rounds even entering the bullseye. I found it shot just slightly to the left but not by much, in terms of elevation I did end up having to shoot about 3 inches lower on the target to hit near the center. The grouping for the 10 rounds was about 2.5 inches total so not too bad for having such an open peep sight to look through. I did extend the Ingram M11 NBB out in front of me rather than using the rear stock as I felt the rear sight was just too close and too open at that distance for me.
The ASG Cobray Ingram M11 NBB CO2 BB Machine Pistol is a pretty basic non blowback BB Pistol but it does perform not too bad getting good fps of close to 400 and able to shoot fairly well centered at 30 feet out with a respectable 2.5 inch shot grouping. The trigger is a bit on the heavy and long side but this is generally true for most double action triggers. If you do plan on opening the rear stock and placing it on your shoulder you will find that rear sight to be very wide since it is so close up, this will allow for quick target acquisition but it also makes accuracy harder since the front sight is kind of swimming in that rather large peep opening. I prefer just holding the ASG Cobray Ingram M11 NBB CO2 BB Machine Pistol out in front of me pistol style but you can try it for yourself and decide which way works best for you. If you are looking for a MAC 11 BB Pistol this may just be your only option for now but it is lower cost and still a lot of fun to shoot.
Type: Non-blowback CO2 BB Pistol. Manufacturer: Distributed by ASG. Model:Cobray Ingram M11 Materials: Mostly plastic, some metal. Weight: 1.2 pounds (544 grams). Total Length: 10.25/18 inches (260/457mm). Barrel: 5.25 inches (133mm) metal rifled. Propulsion: CO2 x 1. Action: Semi auto non-blowback, DOA trigger. Ammunition Type: .4.5mm steel BB’s. Ammunition Capacity: 39 round drop out plastic magazine. FPS: Claimed 394.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on ASG Cobray Ingram M11 NBB CO2 BB Machine Pistol is exactly what you would expect from a NBB CO2 BB double action trigger. It is on the longer and slightly heavier side as your finger is required to do all the work, rather than the blowback action at least cocking the hammer back for you. Getting through the 39 rounds quickly will be a chore for sure, but by the time you reload it again with another 39 rounds your finger should be rested enough!
Accuracy: My dedicated field test shooting video is planned for next week so for now I have no idea what to expect in terms of velocity and accuracy from the ASG Cobray Ingram M11 NBB CO2 BB Machine Pistol other than it should shoot around 400 fps as claimed by ASG. The rather open rear peep sight is on the larger side since the sight sits so close to your face so as long as I can find the center point I should be able to get a decent result from the ASG Cobray Ingram M11. We will find out soon enough so stay posted for that shooting video review.
Build Quality: The ASG Cobray Ingram M11 NBB CO2 BB Machine Pistol is not a poorly made Airgun by no means, just don’t expect a lot of metal as the only metal parts are going to be the stock, the inner barrel, and some other internal metal parts. Everything else is plastic but it works just fine. I do have to say the metal wire stock is really well built and is the best part of this Airgun for sure. It is as good or similar in quality to what you would find on the real steel version.
Realism: The ASG Cobray Ingram M11 NBB CO2 BB Machine Pistol is a 1 to 1 replica of a standard MAC11 and it looks just like one at a glance and perhaps even a bit closer up but as soon as you hold it you will feel how light it is at around 1.2 pounds. There are also very few working parts as many are moulded into the upper and lower receiver. The trigger, magazine release, stock button and safety switch however are all functional which is kind of necessary. The reassessed barrel, adjustable wire rear stock and full size drop out magazine do help add to the realism.
Pros:
Double action trigger is a bit long but not super heavy, it will make you work for action styled shooting.
Fit and finish looks good.
In terms of realism it does look legitimate even though it is very light weight to hold.
High capacity magazine for lots of shots between reloading.
Metal stock is the best part of this pistol, very well made.
Peep sight in back is ideal for quick targets acquisition.
Can kind of field trip but be careful of the safety, must remove first.
Recessed barrel for added realism.
Full size magazine holds the CO2 and BB’s.
Cobray licensing looks good on this gun, no ugly white warning print.
Cons:
Some more metal and weight would have been nice.
Peep sight in the back seems too large as it is so close to your face.
Not a lot of working parts other than the trigger, safety, stock adjustment and magazine release.
Comments:
In terms of 4.5mm BB Airguns out there, I am pretty sure there are no other MAC11 type on the market? So at least ASG has brought us an option to add something like this to for our Airgun collection. I just wish that like the Mini UZI, we had a blowback option with more metal as this is really the more desired choice we are looking for, at least of many of us. The ASG Cobray Ingram M11 NBB CO2 BB Machine Pistol isn’t going to be all that expensive and offers some fun plinking with decent looks, hopefully a company steps up to the table and makes us a blowback metal version down the road, but for now we at least have the ASG Cobray Ingram M11 NBB CO2 BB Machine Pistol.
In this real world shooting Field Test Video of the ASG CZ Shadow 2 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol, I find out what the velocity is using a brand new standard 12 gram CO2 shooting 5.1 grain 4.5mm Steel BB’s through my Chronograph. I then setup a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and shoot 10 rounds into it using seated semi rested shooting position to find out if the ASG CZ Shadow 2 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol Field Test Review anywhere near the bullseye out of the box and if it can get a tight grouping. If you have not already watched my Table Top Video Review for the ASG CZ Shadow 2 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol, then make sure to do so for details, specifications and some nice close up video.
For my velocity test of the ASG CZ Shadow 2 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol, I a lot of rounds through the chronograph as the fps velocity kept creeping up, but I did average out the last 5 shots to get my official average. The slowest fps was 263 with the fastest shot hitting 289 fps, this averaged 283 fps when using the last 5 shots which was almost bang on to what ASG claims of 285. Temperature was maybe just under 20 degrees Celsius which is around 65 or so degrees Fahrenheit, so good to get middle of the road performance here. In warmer temperature you can expect a bit higher velocities.
I then placed my paper target 30 feet downrange and using a semi rested shooting position (hands rested on a sandbag up front and sitting on a stool in the back). I placed 10 rounds into the target and was able to get right around a 2 inch shot grouping with just one flyer that went a bit higher than the rest, probably was me! I was aiming just under the bullseye and the ASG CZ Shadow 2 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol shot about 3 inches low and just a hair to the left but the good news is the sights are fully adjustable so you can zero it in perfectly for your shooting style and range of shooting.
I really like this ASG CZ Shadow 2 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol, it is a bit of a handful at almost 3 pounds but it feels well balanced and the blowback is nice and strong. It has a really great single action trigger that is short and light and predictable. You can also shoot in double action if you drop the hammer for some reason, just make sure you have already reached the slide to load a BB in the breach. The fps is not super high with this Full Blowback CO2 BB Pistol, but it did stay very consistent during my testing not dropping nearly as fast or as much as other similar CO2 BB Pistols. The price is a little bit higher on this version but you get a lot of gun for the money with quality materials throughout.
In this performance Field Test Video of the ASG CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow Blowback CO2 BB Pistol, I find out what the velocity is using a brand new standard 12 gram CO2 shooting a bunch of 4.5mm Steel BB’s through my Chronograph. ASG claims around 312 by the way. I then setup a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and shoot 10 rounds into it using a semi rested shooting position to find out if the ASG CZ SP-01 Shadow Blowback CO2 BB Pistol shoots well centered on the target out of the box and if it can shoot a decent grouping. If you have not already watched my Table Top Video Review for the ASG CZ SP-01 Shadow Blowback CO2 BB Pistol, then make sure to do so for details, specifications and some nice close up video.
First up for my velocity test of the ASG CZ SP-01 Shadow Blowback CO2 BB Pistol, I shot I think it was 7 or 8 rounds through my Chronograph and then averaged them all out. The slowest fps was 305 with the fastest shot hitting 317 fps, this averaged 311 fps which was almost bang on to what ASG Claims of this CO2 BB Blowback Pistol. Temperature was maybe just under 20 degrees Celsius which is around 65 or so degrees Fahrenheit, so good to get middle of the road performance here. In warmer temperature you will get a bit higher velocities.
I then placed my paper target 30 feet downrange and using a semi rested shooting position (hands rested on a sandbag up front and sitting on a stool in the back - not because I’m lazy). I shot 10 rounds into the target and was able to get just a bit over 2 inch shot grouping. I was aiming just under the bullseye and the ASG CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow Blowback CO2 BB Pistol did shoot a bit low and and to the left, so you will have to aim a bit high and to the right if you shoot like I do since this Replica BB Revolver does not have sight adjustments on it.
The ASG CZ SP-01 Shadow Blowback CO2 BB Pistol did pretty good in my testing hitting an averaged out 311 fps which is only 1 fps off of the claimed. The ASG CZ SP-01 Shadow also shot a respectable 10 shot grouping and like many BB and Airsoft guns, it shot a bit low on the target. There is internal adjustable hop-up in this CO2 BB Pistol, so perhaps if you crank that up a bit, it may shoot slightly higher but keep in mind Steel BB’s are lot more dense than Airsoft BB’s so I would not expect a radical change in elevation from hop-up alone. I do like the heavy blowback and smooth and light single action trigger that can also shoot in double action if need be. For a quality product like this the price is good so if you like CZ products then check this one out.
Type:Blowback BB Pistol. Manufacturer: Made and Distributed by ASG. Model:CZ Shadow 2. Materials: Mostly all Metal. Weight: 2.7 pounds (1230 grams). Barrel: 4.5 inches (114mm) metal non-rifled. Total Length: 85 inch (215mm). Propulsion: 1 x CO2. Action: Semi auto blowback, single & double action trigger. Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 17 round drop out full size metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 285.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the ASG CZ Shadow 2 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol is both single and double action, by either pulling the slide or hammer back you engage the single action trigger which is nice and short and light with a medium take-up. You will need to pull the slide back to load a BB into the breach area for your first shot or you will simply be shooting CO2 on that first shot. If you drop the hammer down once a BB is in the breach, you can shoot in double action which is much heavier but it is fairly smooth without any noticeable sticking points.
Accuracy: I have not shot the ASG CZ Shadow 2 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol or made my Field Test Shooting Video so far, that will happen hopefully next week. So right now I can not comment on the true velocity or accuracy of this BB Pistol. It is very well made so I expect it to perform like most Full Blowback CO2 BB pistols which means it should shoot around a 1-2 inch 10 shot grouping at 30 feet away. And I expect it to achieve a velocity close to the manufacturers claimed fps, so just under 300 fps as claimed by ASG. We will find out for sure next in a weeks time!
Build Quality: TheASG CZ Shadow 2 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol is distributed by ASG but I am not 100% sure who exactly makes it for them. I feel it is either going to be KJWorks or KWA. In either case both companies make very high quality Airsoft and Airguns and that is present with the ASG Shadow 2 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol. Fit and finish are excellent and the entire gun is virtually all metal with an anodized slide and zinc grips. It weighs in at a very hefty 2.7 pounds and has a very solid feel to it.
Realism: The ASG CZ Shadow 2 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol is a 1 to 1 copy of the real steel CZ Shadow 2 IPSC Pistol and side by side it would be very hard to tell one form the other. It features full blowback operation and can by fully field stripped. All the mechanical parts work like the real steel version adding to the realism of shooting this CO2 Competition built Blowback BB Pistol. Again it is full metal which not only helps it look the part, but also feel the part. It is a very realistic replica and to make it even more believable, ASG has provide the CZ licensing to add all the correct markings to this product.
Pros:
Single and double action trigger with a nice light short single action trigger.
Fit and finish is excellent, very little slide wiggle, all metal build.
This pistol is heavy at 2.7 pounds!
Extremely close replica of the real steel CZ Shadow 2 in both looks and function.
Rear sight is fully adjustable and sits very flush with the slide.
Fiber optic front sight helps with quick targets acquisition.
CNC machined Aluminum slide and full metal build including the machined zinc pistol grip sides.
Recessed barrel for added realism.
Full size 17 round metal magazine holds the CO2 and BB’s and adds additional weight.
Side swappable Ambidextrous magazine release.
Extended trigger guard makes shooting with gloves easier.
Claimed to be highly accurate, we will find out during my Field Test.
Most Mechanical parts work just like a steel version and can be easily field stripped to access hop-up.
Heavy slide spring with fast blowback action, great for action shooting.
Licensing all over this gun true to the real steel version.
Cons:
Velocity of claimed 285 seems low.
Price will be a bit higher than some similar guns like this but the quality of the ASG CZ Shadow 2 is very high.
May be a bit heavy for some people.
Comments:
The ASG CZ Shadow 2 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol is a quality product all around not only being just full metal but also icormdrating Anodized Aluminum in the slide but also making the grips out of CNC Zinc. Fit and finish is excellent and the overall IPSC look is very appealing. It is a bit heavy coming in at 2.7 pounds but this will keep it very stable when performing competition styled shooting. I am really looking forward to seeing how this one performs as I have high expectations so I hope later on next week when I make my Field Test Shooting video it delivers as promised.

This pistol is pretty heavy at just under 2.5 pounds!
Extremely close replica of the real steel CZ SP-01 Shadow in both looks and function.
Well priced for a quality Airgun.
Fiber optic front sight helps with quick target acquisition.
I like the stainless barrel, it won’t be as prone to scratches and wear marks.
Deep recessed barrel for added realism.
Full size 17 round metal magazine holds the CO2 and BB’s and adds additional weight.
Rail for adding accessories like a laser or tac light.
Most mechanical parts work just like the steel version and can be easily field stripped to access the hop-up.
Heavy slide spring with fast blowback action, great for action shooting.
Licensing all over this gun, true to the real steel version.
Cons:
Rear sight is not adjustable.
FPS is perhaps a bit low at 312?
May be a bit heavy for some people.
Comments:
I am pretty sure that the ASG CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow Blowback CO2 BB Pistol started out life as a 6mm Airsoft Pistol, and then this version was simply converted over to shoot 4.5mm Steel BB’s by more than likely swapping out the barrel, perhaps changing the nozzle and modifying the magazine to allow for 4.5mm BB’s over the 6mm Airsoft BB’s. And that is OK with me as I really like how Full Blowback Airsoft Pistols recreate that realistic shooting experience. The downside to all of this is a bit of a perforce hit since Full Blowback Airsoft Pistols use up a lot of CO2 to create that full heavy blowback experience. You also lose some power along the way. I am fine with that but some people may not be. Overall I really like the ASG CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow Blowback CO2 BB Pistol. It is high quality and looks awesome. Now I just need to find out how it shoots :)
I’ve got some new Airguns to show everyone today and all of them are Pistols of some sort or another. I show you three 4.5mm BB Pistols from ASG, a Cybergun 1911 NBB BB Pistol, an Airsoft Full Blowback Pistol from EMG and lastly from Umarex, an HK Full Blowback Airsoft Pistol. This is not a full review by any means, the video is mainly to let you know what is coming up in terms of Table Top and Field Test Videos and that we do have these products at least listed in our Replica Airgun Store.
It’s alwasy nice to have a chat with Bob at ASG, I have been interviewing him for years now and really missed not being at SHOT Show the last three years. As always, Bob really knows the ASG product line inside and out and took us through some of the new products and changes to the ASG lineup in 2024.
Some of the products include: The ASG CZ P-10 C CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol, the Steyr L9-A2 CO2/Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistol, the USW Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistol, the new Hybrid Airsoft line including the CO2 Blowback H-22 and the AEG H-15, the ICS Ape SE AEG Airsoft Rifle, and lastly the ICS Carnotaurus, Legacy, ACME High-Capa Pistol Series.
I am looking forward to get my hands-on many of these new ASG products and making reviews for everyone to checkout in the near future…
I’m back from SHOT Show 2024 and I always like to start off my series of SHOT Show Interview videos with a Teaser Video that not only shows off a few new guns but also gives everyone a vibe of what it feels like to visit Las Vegas and SHOT Show. I can only show you so much because as you know what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…
I did get the chance to interview several Airgun Companies that I will be putting together Interview Videos for, including Umarex, ASG, KWA, Barra, EKOL and Byrna. Unfortunately Sig Sauer is no longer attending SHOT Show and Crosman had significantly reduced the focus of their booth and really did not have much in the way of Replica Airguns to show.
Type: Blowback CO2 BB Pistol. Manufacturer: Distributed by ASG. Model: 1911 US-C. Materials: MostlyMetal. Weight: 1.9 pounds (874 grams). Total Length: 8.7 inches (220mm). Barrel: 4.7 inches (119mm) metal non-rifled. Propulsion: CO2 x 1. Action: Semi auto blowback, SOA trigger. Ammunition Type: .4.5mm steel BB’s. Ammunition Capacity: 18 round drop out full size metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 420.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the ASG 1911 US-C CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is surprisingly really good as this is a new design mechanically different than the standard KWC 1911. There is a slide nozzle on the top of the magazine that pushes a BB into the breach area of the barrel and seals off the magazine for the barrel allowing for higher fps and I would imagine better CO2 efficiency. There are other Blowback Airguns that do this but most incorporate the trigger force to push the slide nozzle forward causing some friction and creating more of a double action trigger feel. I believe the ASG 1911 US-C CO2 Blowback BB Pistol uses the blowback action to engage this slide nozzle allowing for a true short and light single action trigger. Which the ASG 1911 US-C CO2 Blowback BB Pistol does have.
Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the ASG 1911 US-C CO2 Blowback BB Pistol or done my Field Test Performance Video. I really have no idea what to expect from it as this a new design I have never seen or shot before. I have high expectations based mainly on the advertised specifications but also from my observations looking over the mechanics and how this Airgun feels in the hand. Hopefully it performs as good as I am wishing for…
Build Quality: The ASG 1911 US-C CO2 Blowback BB Pistol has good fit and finish, I would compare it to a KWC 1911 in this department, I have a feeling it may be made in the KWC factory as the manual uses some of the same graphics found in most KWC manuals. I could be wrong here. That said the ASG 1911 US-C CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is mostly all metal with the exception of the pistol grips as expected.
Realism: The ASG 1911 US-C CO2 Blowback BB Pistol looks exactly like a real steel 1911 with the exception of an additional pin in the frame. The slide also does not cycle as much as a real steel 1911 or even like a standard KWC 1911 and field striping will not be done in the conventional manner since the slide catch release does not easily come out. All that said I feel like tis 1911 airgun design may be a nice compromise between performance and realism.
Pros:
Has that well liked KWC 1911 look but with different internals.
Looks to have a nice short and light single action only trigger.
Because of new type design I expect really good fps and lots of shots per CO2.
All working parts just like a real steel 1911.
Working safety and grip safety.
Full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and 18 rounds.
Integrated CO2 Allen key tool.
Recessed barrel for realism.
Blowback action for simulated recoil and a smoother trigger.
Good overall fit and finish.
Cons:
Painted markings on slide are a bit much.
Field strip is not conventional.
Sights are not adjustable.
Comments:
I am really optimistic that the ASG 1911 US-C CO2 Blowback BB Pistol will be a real winner here as it has a lot going for it! First of all it’s a 1911 and who doesn’t like a 1911? It is also a really solid replica on its own rights so it should check most boxes here with its blowback action, full size drop out metal magazine, nice SAO trigger and all metal build. On top of this all ,the specifications look really good with higher velocity than the standard KWC 1911 and I am also assuming better CO2 efficiency. Take all of this into account and the ASG 1911 US-C CO2 Blowback BB Pistol could be the new 1911 standard to go by.
In this Update Preview Video I take a look at three CO2 Air Pistols from ASG, Gamo and Barra. All shoot 4.5mm steel BB’s and one can also shoot .177 caliber pellets. two of them have blowback action. Two are also styled after the popular 1911 Semi Auto Pistol. The ASG 1911 has a unique magazine and chambering system that is the first I have seen of this in a Blowback Airgun. It offers with blowback operation along higher fps and a nice light semi auto trigger, which is a combination not offered in many Airguns.
I have made a fair amount of video reviews for the Dan Wesson Line of AIrguns that encompass Table Top and Field Test Reviews on several versions of the Dan Wesson line: BB, Pellet, Airsoft, in a variety of barrel and color choices. It has been a while, so why not make another Review Video to revisit the Dan Wesson Line and so this time here we have the Steel BB version in a 2.5 inch barrel length. As always I will test they CO2 Revolver to find out what the velocity is and how accurate it is shooting at a paper target. Also make sure to watch my Table Top Video for specifications, details and closeup video.
Here we go with the Velocity test! I placed a brand new CO2 in the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver and shot a cylinder full of 4.5mm steel BB’s that weigh 5.1 grain through my Chronograph. The temperature was average so about room temperature. Only the last 4 of my shots registered on my Chronograph as it was acting up a bit on me at first two shots but I did manage to average 332 fps with the last four. The first two shots would have been a little bit faster had they registered on my chronograph so this may have brought up the average a bit to say around 334…
I then placed a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and proceeded to unload a full 6 round cylinder into it, I was shooting in single action with the hammer cocked back between shots. I was also using a semi rested shooting position with my hands resting on a sand bag up front and seated in the back for stability. Generally speaking even with Steel BB’s I can get close to a 1-2 inch grouping with hess Dan Wessons but this time my 6 shot grouping only produced a 3 inch group? It was probably me as there is always some human error involved and each test can result in different results so keep that in mind. The grouping was well centered out of the box but the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver does have fully adjustable sights in case yours is a bit off.
It never get’s old loading up the shells with ammo and placing them in the cylinder followed by either quick action shooting or more relaxed and accurate single action shooting, then repeating again and again… The original Dan Wesson line of revelers has been around for a long time now and if I am not mistaken was the first Airgun revolver to use reloadable shells. We now have more refined 715 version of the Dan Wesson which does have some improvement but the original versions still hold strong and are very capable and fun shell loading revolvers that come it a bit lower price tag then the newer 715 versions so no matter which version you get you will have lot of fun shooting and reloading these enjoyable Airguns!
The KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol does look a bit like a Glock but don’t be fooled, it is fore sure not a Glock at all. That said it might just make a great training Airsoft pistol if you own a real steel Glock or plan on owning one in the future as it is about the same size and shape and operates similarly to a real Glock. In this video I put it through its paces using my Chronograph to find out the real world velocity and I also place 10 shots on a paper target to see what kind of accuracy I can get from 30 feet away.
Starting with my power or velocity test I put 5 rounds through my Chronograph using standard .20 gram Airsoft Plastic BB’s. I was using a brand new CO2 and the temperature being around 21 degrees Celsius or 70 degrees Fahrenheit, so not too hot or cold. I did only test using the preinstalled internal non-extended barrel so if you do plan on using the longer extend barrel that the KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol comes with, you will more than likely get another 30-40 fps out of this Airsoft Pistol. That said I was able to get an average of 348 fps with my slowest shoot hitting 329 fps and my fastest shot hitting 363 fps. As expected the fastest shot was my first shot out of the Airsoft gun and my slowest shot was my last as the Airgun cooled down.
I then moved on to my accuracy portion of the Field Test for the KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol. It did shoot rather high so I did have to aim at the bottom ring of the target to actually hit closer to the middle. It also shot just a tad to the left but not much so keep that in mind since the sights are not easily adjustable. Hop-up adjustments may lower the rounds a bit but it’s hard to say how much. The KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol did get close to a 1 inch 9 shot grouping (first shot was really high aiming at the bullseye), so that was impressive and the blowback feels solid with a really nice Glock like short and easy trigger.
The KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is a nice looking and good performing Airsoft Pistol that looks enough like a glock to perhaps appeal to Glock lovers looking for something similar but unique in its own way. After all doesn't everyone already have a Glock, so be a bit different and pick yourself up one of these KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistols and be a trend setter!
Type: Blowback CO2 Airsoft Pistol. Manufacturer: Distributed by KJ Works. Model:KP-13. Materials: Metal & Polymer. Weight: 1.7 pounds (770 grams). Barrel: 3.7 inches (95mm) metal non-rifled. Propulsion: CO2 x 1. Action: Semi auto blowback, SOA trigger. Ammunition Type: .6mm plastic Airsoft BB’s. Ammunition Capacity: 24 round drop out full size metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 366+.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is what you would expect for a true Single Action Only Trigger which is nice and light. There is a bit of take up but you can feel the point near the back where the release kicks in which is extremely predictable with no play in it. Of course you will need to rack the slide in order to place a round in the breach and fire the first shot, after that the blowback action will do all the work for you.
Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the KJWorks KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol or done my Field Test Performance Video. I would expect the KJWorks KP-13 to perform like the other KJWork Airsoft Pistols I have reviewed in the past, which generally hits the claimed fps. Keep in mind the claimed fps is with the extended barrel and I more than likely will be using the preinstalled shorter non extendable barrel which will have a slower fps for sure. Accuracy should be decent but we will find out when I make my Field Test Shooting video!
Build Quality: The KJWorks line of Airsoft Guns is know for overall good quality so I expect theKJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol to be just the same. From my initial first impressions everything looks really good, fit and finish are excellent and as expected you will find metal parts and polymer parts in all the same places you would find them in a real steel modern semi auto pistol.
Realism: The KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is not an exact replica of a specific semi auto pistol but yo could say it looks a little bit like a Glock ;) You need to be careful when it comes to Glock as they do not like it when companies copy their guns and rightly so. There is enough differences with the KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol so it should not set off any alarms over at Glock. I do like the two tone tan and black color scheme KJ Works went with for the KP-13 but if you like a more traditional look you can always go with the all black version.
Pros:
Metal and Polymer with decent weight and good feel to it.
Heavy Full blowback operation.
Excellent fit and finish as always with KJWorks pistols.
High capacity full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and 24 rounds.
Well hidden safety incorporated into the serial number under the barrel.
Working trigger safety.
Super easy to see in all conditions fiber optic sight up front.
All working components like a real steel Glock styled pistol.
Comes with extended barrel for higher velocity and easier import into Canada.
Would make a good training weapon if you are use to using Glocks.
Like the two tone finish, but can also get it in all black.
Easily field strip-able.
Cons:
Sights are not adjustable.
Would have liked the addition of white outline on the rear sight.
Slide spring could be slightly heavier.
Comments:
If you’re looking for a pistol that is similar to a Glock for training purposes but is unique in its own way and doesn’t have to be a Glock, then perhaps the KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol may be for you. I like the fact that it has its own style to it and is not just another Glock or Glock Copy. I also like that the KP-13 comes with a CO2 magazine rather than a Green Gas Magazine which will get you a bit higher velocity and more mag fills before requiring to gas up again. I personally like the two tone version but get what you like best, it’s good to have options!
Type: BB Revolvers. Manufacturer: ASG Model: Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold Materials: Mostly metal. Weight: 1.9 pounds. (862 grams) Barrel: Metal non-rifled. Propulsion: CO2 x 1. Action: Revolver, single and double action. Ammunition Type: 4.5mm Steel BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 6 rounds (removable shells). FPS: 327
Trigger Pull: The ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver shoots in true modern revolver style offering single and double action. The double action has a bit of friction to it since the cylinder is being rotate during the first part of the trigger pull and there is a spring fed metal gasket between the barrel and the cylinder that creates a seal but does add some resistance to the trigger pull in double action. Single action is much lighter as expected since pulling the hammer back turns the cylinder removing that friction point from the equasion.
.Accuracy: So far I have not done my Filed Test Shooting Video for the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver, but I plan to in the near future as a revisit since I have made a lot of similar Field Test Videos for the Dan Wesson line of products in 4.5mm Steel BB and 6mm Airsoft, here is a link to me shooting the 8 inch a while back in my old setup. Wow, this one goes back to 2014 almost 10 years ago!
Build Quality: The ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver overall is really well built with good weight to it and a nice fit and finish, I do like the Gold version in this 2.5 inch version. It is almost all metal with the exception of the grips which are made of a semi hard plastic. One beef I have with the original ASG Dan Wesson line of revolvers are how the grips slide back to access the CO2, closing them can be a bit of a chore as they can come off their track super easily. The other complaint I hear about them is the play in the trigger and hammer side to side.
Realism: The ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver like all the other ASG Dan Wesson Revolvers is very realistic with its realistic pop out cylinder and 6 removable shells you can reuse and load up for numerous rounds of shooting. You can also buy additional shells and have them preloaded and ready to go in the Speed loader to speed things up. Two things about the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver that take away a bit from the realism would be the non recessed barrel and the rather large space in front of the hammer. A real steel Dan Wesson or even most revolvers do not have this large space. I believe they did this to allow for the internal valve system. The newer Dan Wesson 715 however was designed with a smaller space in front of the hammer.
Pros:
It's a revolver with actual shells! Gives you the feeling of a real 6 shooter.
Almost all metal design with good weight and feel.
Lots of detail in this gun, very well made, fit and finish is very good.
Good power and good accuracy. (going off of already done older reviews)
Fully adjustable rear sight for windage and elevation.
Can add the included accessory rail for more options (optical or red dot sight…).
Dan Wesson licensed via ASG.
Gold finish is unique. (Gold is the Best!)
Moulded and textured pistol grips.
Grips fully hide CO2 screw.
Can shoot in both double and single action for action shooting or more accurate shot placement.
Cons:
Plastic CO2 screw tab.
Plastic grip setup can be a bit awkward to close.
2.5 inch does not have the recessed barrel.
Hammer and trigger are a bit sloppy compared to 715 version.
Comments:
It’s been a while since I reviewed one of the first generation ASG Dan Wesson Revolvers and the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver does bring back some memories for me going back almost a decade. If I’m not mistaken this revolver was the first one to implement actual removable and reloadable shells making Airgun Replica Revolvers a lot more interesting and realistic! I do kind of prefer the newer 715 version as they are even beefier than the original ASG Dan Wessons and ASG has fixed the sloppy hammer and trigger along with the space in front of the hammer has been reduce making the 715 even that much more realistic.
