Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol Table Top Review

Type: Blowback CO2 BB Pistol.
Manufacturer: Distributed by Umarex.
Model: Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS.
Materials: Metal & Polymer.
Weight: 1.5 pounds (683 grams).
Total Length: 7.95 inches (20.2cm).
Barrel: Smooth bore 4 inch barrel (10cm).
Propulsion: CO2 x 1.
Action: Semi auto blowback, double action only trigger.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 18 round drop out full size metal magazine.
FPS: Claimed 370.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is very similar in most ways to a real steel Glock Pistol with the blowback action, which does engage the striker alleviating some of the trigger pull to some degree. That said the trigger is more like a double action trigger in terms of weight and length, as the trigger pull is used to shuttle a BB into the breach, which does require additional trigger length and weight making it more like a double action trigger at the end of the day. The blowback action on this version is not full, but rather partial, so it does not go back as far as the real steel slide would go. The chambering of BB’s and the partial blowback design has an upside allowing for a higher velocity and more shots per CO2.

Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol, so I can only quote what Umarex is saying in terms of FPS which is around 370. As mentioned earlier, the partial blowback action and the way the magazine seals the BB in the breach helps to increase the FPS to something a lot closer to what a non-blowback BB pistol generally offers in velocity. In terms of accuracy I will have to make my Field Test Shooting Video first before I know for sure, but generally a CO2 Blowback BB Pistol like this will get around a 4 inch grouping based on past similar shooting tests.

Build Quality: Being Glock licensed via Umarex, the, Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol has to be made with Glocks high quality standards in mind. I am not 100% sure who actually makes this Airgun, as Umarex is not so much a manufacturer of Airguns, but more of a distribution and licensing company. I am pretty sure that KWC is making this Airgun for Umarex and KWC has for sure improved their quality over time in terms of fit and finish, so I am happy to say that the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is a really well built Airgun.

Realism: The Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol absolutely has most of everything you would want in a Replica Airgun, like blowback action, a working slide catch release, trigger safety, magazine release, and full size drop out metal magazine. Its shortcomings would be that you can not easily field strip its and it does have a trigger closer to a double action only rather than the Glock short and very light single action trigger. I can overlook this because it is very well priced and has a nice high velocity along with a lot of shots per CO2.

Pros:

  • Good weight and feel to it, build quality seems excellent.

  • Really nice looking and full featured replica of the original Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS.

  • Fully Glock licensed via Umarex.

  • Easy to see white dot sights front and back.

  • Recessed barrel for added realism.

  • Accessory rail under barrel for adding a laser or tactical light.

  • MOS (Modular Optical System) on slide for adding a red dot.

  • Safety built into serial number under the barrel.

  • Full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and 18, 4.5mm steel BB’s.

  • Slide spring is firm, will have a nice blowback recoil effect.

  • Warning instruction are nice and discreet under the trigger guard.

  • Not an overly heavy DOA feeling trigger as the blowback pre-cocks the internal hammer/striker but the trigger does move a BB into the breach area.

  • Because of partial blowback action and magazine design, it has a higher fps and you get a lot more shots than a similar full blowback Airgun.

  • Working trigger safety like the real steel version.

Cons:

  • Trigger is more like a DOA trigger which is longer and heavier than a real steel Glock, but not bad.

  • Sights are non-adjustable which is common with low cost airguns like this one.

  • Blowback action is not full so not as heavy of a recoil feel as a full blowback Airgun.

Comments:

I was excited when I first saw the Glock 17 and 19 Gen 5 MOS 4.5mm Steel BB Blowback Airguns at SHOT Show this year, and I have been really looking forward to getting my hands on both of them. They both look and feel just as good as they did at SHOT Show, and now all I need to do is test them out and see how they both perform in the Replica Airguns Indoor Sea Can Shooting Range. I know the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is for sure going to have a lot more power over the Umarex Glock 19, but the full blowback action of the Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS may take a win over power from the Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS. It may come down to which one is more accurate? I will have to wait and see so keep watching to find out who the winner is in my books.

Umarex Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol Table Top Review

Type: Full Blowback CO2 BB Pistol.
Manufacturer: Distributed by Umarex.
Model: Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS.
Materials: Metal & Polymer.
Weight: 1.5 pounds (655 grams).
Total Length: 6.9 inches (17.5cm).
Barrel: Smooth bore 3.5 inch barrel (9cm).
Propulsion: CO2 x 1.
Action: Semi auto blowback, single action only trigger.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 17 round drop out full size metal magazine.
FPS: Claimed 290.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is very similar to a real steel Glock Pistol as the full blowback action allows for a true single action only trigger and it has similar take-up, weight and release which makes this the perfect trainer if you own a similar Glock. Even the trigger safety is functional and not just for show.

Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the Umarex Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol so I can only quote what Umarex is saying in terms of FP2 which is around 290. That may seem on the low side for a 4.5 BB Pistol even for a blowback Airgun. This is because the blowback is a true full blowback similar to what you commonly find with Airsoft Blowback Airguns This is not a super efficient design as much of the CO2 usage goes to cycling the action of the slide so less is allocated to going down the barrel and propelling the Steel BB. This type of system also uses more CO2 per shot so it will use up CO2 fast.

Build Quality: The Umarex Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pisto being a licensed Glock Pistol means it has to conform to Glocks high standard so it is made very well with excellent fit and finish. Like there real steel version the slide is metal and the frame is a polymer, of course there are other metal components throughout like the magazine, inner and outer barrel, slide catch release and many of the internal parts.

Realism: The Umarex Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol absolutely looks the part of a Glock 19 MOS. When sitting on the table and even holding it in your hand, you are going to think it's the real deal until of course you drop the magazine and see that it is a CO2 mag. Mostly everything operates like a real Glock 19 MOS and because it is full blowback the slide cycles all the way back and forth and the slide spring is nice and heavy so there is no lag to it, it does not have the clanky metallic sound a lot of CO2 Blowback pistols have which adds even further to the realism. You can even fully feel strip this version just lie a real Glock 19 MOS.

Pros:

  • Ultra realistic Replica in looks and function.

  • Good weight and feel to it, build quality seems excellent.

  • Really nice looking and full featured replica of the original Glock 19 Gen 5 MOC.

  • Fully Glock licensed via Umarex

  • Easy to see white dot sights front and back.

  • Recessed barrel for added realism.

  • Accessory rail under barrel for adding a laser or tactical light.

  • MOS (Modular Optical System) on slide for adding a red dot.

  • Comes with MOC adapter plates.

  • Full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and 17 4.5mm steel BB’s.

  • Slide spring feels really snappy and firm, more than most full blowback Airguns, so it should have a nice heavy blowback recoil feel.

  • Warning instruction are nice and discreet under trigger guard.

  • Fully field strippable.

  • Great feeling single action only trigger as the blowback pre-cocks the internal hammer/strike.

  • Working trigger safety like the real steel version.

  • Has an added Cross Bolt safety on the trigger.

Cons:

  • FPS could be higher but this is generally the case with a full blowback Airgun like this, very similar to Airsoft Full blowback design.

  • Sights are non-adjustable which is common with low cost airguns like this one.

  • No built in serial number safety.

Comments:

I was excited when I first saw the Glock 17 and 19 Gen 5 MOS 4.5mm Steel BB Blowback Airguns at SHOT Show this year adn have been really looking forward to getting my hands on them. Essentially the Umarex Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pisto is built very much like an Airsoft Full Blowback Airgun but it just shoots 4.5mm Steel BB’s rather than 6mm Airsoft BB’s which some people prefer if you are not so much into Airsoft games. Along with being full blowback the MOS system allows for adding a red dot to the rear of the slide so this gives you even more option when adding accessories to the Umarex Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. I am pretty sure this one is going to be my favorite Umarex Glock but I’ll know for sure after I Field Test it!

Replica Airguns July 2025 Dual Mystery Box Video

Wow, two mystery boxes this time to unpack and see what’s inside! I did have a bit of an idea that there was going to be two new BB Blowback CO2 Glocks from Umarex, the same ones I checked out at this years SHOT Show. There was also some more Air Pistols from various companies. One from Novritsch, the SSX23 NBB Gas Airsoft Pistol, that looked like it was Blowback as the slide does cycles. The Daisy 415 Powerline CO2 BB Pistol, a fairly simplistic Air Pistol, the Vigilante Dual Ammo CO2 BB/Pellet Revolver, I’m pretty sure I have visited before from Crosman. And one more item from Umarex, the Umarex Ruger P345 CO2 NBB Airsoft Pistol keeping to the basic low cost theme.

I also got a few accessor items from a company called GEAR STOCK, Some CO2 in 12 and 88 gram along with some 6mm aluminum Airsoft BB’s. A very cool rechargeable red and green laser that comes in a nice hard shell case and it has a picatinny rail on the bottom she you can stack a second accessory under it.

Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol Field Test Review

The Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol is a looker for sure replicating the look of a Glock 17 Gen 5 which includes Umarex Glock licensing, lots of metal parts and solid blowback action. That’s all great but does it shoot good? In this Filed Test Shooting video for the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol I put it through its paces using my Chronograph to find out the real world velocity and I also place 10 shots on a paper target to see what kind of accuracy we can get from 30 feet away.

Starting with my power or velocity test I put 5 rounds through my Chronograph using lead pellets that where just over 7 gran. I was all using a brand new CO2 and the temperature being around 21 degrees Celsius or 70 degrees Fahrenheit, so not too hot or cold. Full disclaimer, I was having some feeding problems with the magazine at first but it did seem to sort itself out near the end of this review… All that said, I was able to get an average of 320 fps with my slowest shoot hitting 309 fps and my fastest shot hitting 327 fps, so pretty consistent overall.

I then moved on to my accuracy portion of the Field Test for the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol Luckily the pellet feeding and trigger seemed to work better for me during this portion of the test but the trigger pull was very unpredictable being super hard with some shots and rather easy for others. This is not ideal for getting a good accuracy result, but I did the best I could and surprisingly got around a 3 inch grouping with a very uncooperative trigger. My grouping did hit the target a little bit to the left but was well centered up and down.

I am not a fan of belt fed magazines over all even though Sig Sauer does seem to be able to pull them off better than anyone. Maybe Umarex needs to do a little bit more work here to get better trigger pull consistency and an overall lighter trigger pull. Maybe the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol needs a bit more break in time as it did seem to perform better near the end of my Field Test Review. I would also like to try adding some silicone lubrication ot the magazine as friction seems to be the enemy of belt fed magazines… I am not sure if the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol is a big recommendation for me or not, but it is a really decent CO2 Airgun in many ways. If you're willing to take a bit of a chance that the trigger will improve over time and perhaps a bit of lube will improve things then checkout the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol in our Canada and US online Replica Airguns Stores.

Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol Table Top Review

Type: Blowback CO2 Pellet Pistol.
Manufacturer: Distributed by Umarex.
Model: Glock 17 Gen 5.
Materials: Metal & Polymer.
Weight: 1.6 pounds (725 grams).
Barrel: 4.5 inches metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: CO2 x 1.
Action: Semi auto blowback, DOA trigger.
Ammunition Type: .177 caliber pellets.
Ammunition Capacity: 21 round drop out full size metal magazine.
FPS: Claimed 370.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol is what I would describe as closer to a DOA (Double Action Only) trigger. The blowback action does retract the internal hammer/striker which does relieve some of the trigger pull but the trigger is also used to rotate the belt magazine which gives the trigger a kind of friction feel especially right at the end of the pull where the rotation occurs. That said it is not a terrible trigger like some other belt fed Airguns but it is certainly nutlike a standard SAO type Glock trigger.

Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol so I can only quote what Umarex is saying in terms of FP2 which is 370. That sounds a bit high for a pellet Airgun but they may be claiming this velocity using a light weight pellets perhaps made out of an alloy rather than lead? I guess we will find out the real world fps using lead pellets and also how accurate it will be when I do my Full Field Test Shooting Video.

Build Quality: The Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol like most of the Umarex Glocks is very well made. I am thinking that Glock to allow Umarex to license Glock Pistols hammy have a quality control as part of this license agreement? Either way the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol is a solid and well built Airgun all around with quality material and very good fit and finish.

Realism: The Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol in terms of realism as compared to a real steel Glock 19 Gen 5 for sure hits the mark in most categories. It is a bit lighter and you can not field strip it easily, there is also the not so much recessed barrel that is a bit of a giveaway but in terms of most other attributes the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 replicates a real Glock… Including the basic looks and feel, the metal slide and polymer frame, the full size drop out metal magazine, the blowback action and most of the working parts including the slide catch release, magazine release and trigger safety.

Pros:

  • Good weight and feel to it, build quality and fit and finish seem very good.

  • Really nice looking and full featured replica of the original Glock 17 Gen 5.

  • Fully Glock licensed via Umarex.

  • Easy to see white dot sights front and back.

  • Working trigger safety.

  • Accessory rail for adding a laser or tactical light.

  • Full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and .177 caliber pellets.

  • Nice high 21 round capacity.

  • Slide spring feels nice and heavy provide a decent blowback recoil effect.

  • Safety built into the serial number plate area keeps it well hidden.

  • Can see through ejection port when magazine is out.

  • Warning instruction are nice and discreet under trigger guard.

  • 370 claimed fps is good for a CO2 blowback pellet pistol.

Cons:

  • Barrel is not really all that recessed.

  • No way to easily field strip it.

  • Don’t like the clam shell packaging.

  • Trigger is a bit on the heavy side.

Comments:

I think many of us having been waiting for a pellet shooting version of the Glock from Umarex. I am a bit surprised they went with a belt fed version as belt fed magazines tend to be a bit on the heavy trigger pull side. Yes the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol has a stronger trigger pull as compared to a 4.5mm BB or 6mm Airsoft version of the same Umarex gun, as most of these Umarex based Glocks utilize a SAO trigger which is more comparable to a real steel Glock. On the plus side the Pellet version should be a bit more accurate, but we will see how this pans out when I do my comprehensive Field Test Shooting Video for the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol.

Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol Field Test Review

In this Field Test Shooting Video I test out the Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol in the Indoor Replica Airguns Sea Can Shooting Range to find out what the real world velocity and accuracy is for it. I start off by putting 5 rounds through my Chronograph and average the fps, I then I setup a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and put (max amount in the magazine) 8 Paintball rounds into it to see how close of a grouping I can get. If you want more details and specifications on the Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol then checkout my Table Top Video for that information.

Starting with the Chronograph velocity test Umarex says you can expect around 350 - 400 fps which seems rather high to me based on my other Field Tests with similar .43 caliber Paintball Pistols. Perhaps this is using actual Paintballs whereas I was using rubber balls for my testing to reduce the mess in the Sea Can. I was able to average 300 fps using a brand new CO2 in what I would consider to be about a room temperature conditions which means in warmer situations I am sure we can get even higher than the 300 fps I hit on this day.

For the next portion of the Indoor Field Test I loaded 8 rounds into the Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol and carefully placed them into a paper target 30 feet down range. I was using my standard seated position in the back with my hands resting on a sand bag up front which I have found to be fairly stable but there will still be some human factor which can effect overall accuracy. My results where about what I was expecting with a Paintball Pistol shooting Rubber Balls, generally they will spread out a bit at 30 feet and in this Field Test my 8 shot group spread out to about 8 inches or so. They did seem to be well centered on the target as a group and if I was shooting at a human sized torso at that distance I would have hit it every time.

The Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol is another nice addition to the Umarex / T4E lineup up .43 Caliber Replica Paintball Pistols and if you are a Glock owner and want a Paintball Pistol to train with, then the Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol is about as good as you can get, the only other option would be to go with an Umarex Glock Airsoft or BB Pistol but at least we now have a bunch of options depending on your specific needs!
