In this performance Field Test Video of the ASG CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow Blowback CO2 BB Pistol, I find out what the velocity is using a brand new standard 12 gram CO2 shooting a bunch of 4.5mm Steel BB’s through my Chronograph. ASG claims around 312 by the way. I then setup a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and shoot 10 rounds into it using a semi rested shooting position to find out if the ASG CZ SP-01 Shadow Blowback CO2 BB Pistol shoots well centered on the target out of the box and if it can shoot a decent grouping. First up for my velocity test of the ASG CZ SP-01 Shadow Blowback CO2 BB Pistol, I shot I think it was 7 or 8 rounds through my Chronograph and then averaged them all out. The slowest fps was 305 with the fastest shot hitting 317 fps, this averaged 311 fps which was almost bang on to what ASG Claims of this CO2 BB Blowback Pistol. Temperature was maybe just under 20 degrees Celsius which is around 65 or so degrees Fahrenheit, so good to get middle of the road performance here. In warmer temperature you will get a bit higher velocities.
I then placed my paper target 30 feet downrange and using a semi rested shooting position (hands rested on a sandbag up front and sitting on a stool in the back - not because I’m lazy). I shot 10 rounds into the target and was able to get just a bit over 2 inch shot grouping. I was aiming just under the bullseye and the ASG CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow Blowback CO2 BB Pistol did shoot a bit low and and to the left, so you will have to aim a bit high and to the right if you shoot like I do since this Replica BB Revolver does not have sight adjustments on it.
The ASG CZ SP-01 Shadow Blowback CO2 BB Pistol did pretty good in my testing hitting an averaged out 311 fps which is only 1 fps off of the claimed. The ASG CZ SP-01 Shadow also shot a respectable 10 shot grouping and like many BB and Airsoft guns, it shot a bit low on the target. There is internal adjustable hop-up in this CO2 BB Pistol, so perhaps if you crank that up a bit, it may shoot slightly higher but keep in mind Steel BB’s are lot more dense than Airsoft BB’s so I would not expect a radical change in elevation from hop-up alone. I do like the heavy blowback and smooth and light single action trigger that can also shoot in double action if need be. For a quality product like this the price is good so if you like CZ products then check this one out.
I have made a fair amount of video reviews for the Dan Wesson Line of AIrguns that encompass Table Top and Field Test Reviews on several versions of the Dan Wesson line: BB, Pellet, Airsoft, in a variety of barrel and color choices. It has been a while, so why not make another Review Video to revisit the Dan Wesson Line and so this time here we have the Steel BB version in a 2.5 inch barrel length. As always I will test they CO2 Revolver to find out what the velocity is and how accurate it is shooting at a paper target. Here we go with the Velocity test! I placed a brand new CO2 in the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver and shot a cylinder full of 4.5mm steel BB’s that weigh 5.1 grain through my Chronograph. The temperature was average so about room temperature. Only the last 4 of my shots registered on my Chronograph as it was acting up a bit on me at first two shots but I did manage to average 332 fps with the last four. The first two shots would have been a little bit faster had they registered on my chronograph so this may have brought up the average a bit to say around 334…
I then placed a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and proceeded to unload a full 6 round cylinder into it, I was shooting in single action with the hammer cocked back between shots. I was also using a semi rested shooting position with my hands resting on a sand bag up front and seated in the back for stability. Generally speaking even with Steel BB’s I can get close to a 1-2 inch grouping with hess Dan Wessons but this time my 6 shot grouping only produced a 3 inch group? It was probably me as there is always some human error involved and each test can result in different results so keep that in mind. The grouping was well centered out of the box but the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch Gold CO2 BB Revolver does have fully adjustable sights in case yours is a bit off.
It never get’s old loading up the shells with ammo and placing them in the cylinder followed by either quick action shooting or more relaxed and accurate single action shooting, then repeating again and again… The original Dan Wesson line of revelers has been around for a long time now and if I am not mistaken was the first Airgun revolver to use reloadable shells. We now have more refined 715 version of the Dan Wesson which does have some improvement but the original versions still hold strong and are very capable and fun shell loading revolvers that come it a bit lower price tag then the newer 715 versions so no matter which version you get you will have lot of fun shooting and reloading these enjoyable Airguns!
Took me a while to get to this Field Test Shooting Video for the ASG CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1 6mm AEG Airsoft Gun but glad I took a look at it even if it is over 6 years already on the market. As per usual I test out the velocity shooting several ordains through my Chronograph to see what the real world fps is, I then follow this up with an accuracy test shooting 10 rounds on a paper target setup 30 feet downrange to see how tight of a grouping I can get. Starting with my Velocity Test I placed 6 rounds through my Chronograph using .20 gram Airsoft BB’s clocking in an average of 421 fps. I was very impressed with the consistency of the velocity with the lowest shot being 420 fps and the fastest shot being 422 fps only 2 fps apart! You can change out the spring super easy on the ASG CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1 6mm AEG Airsoft Gun but I feel that the fps out fo the box would be good for most Airsoft games indoor and outdoor.
I then places a brand new paper target 30 feet downrange and proceeded to shoot 10 rounds at it in semi auto using a seated shooting position rested on a sand bag up front. I was able to get very close to a 1 inch grouping just a tad over an inch. I did not sight in the gun so I was not surprised I was shooting rather low and just a hair to the left, this could be equally corrected by adjusting the rear sight for windage and elevation. I could also play around with the hop-up effecting elevation at different ranges. I then proceeded to shoot take some more shot in both 3 round burst adn full auto modes and as expected the groupings did spread out a bit but not a lot.
I was super impressed with eh performance of the ASG CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1 6mm AEG Airsoft Gun, I don’t think I have seen velocity consistency this good in any other AEG Airsoft gun I have tested so far. Accuracy was also on point even using lighter plastic .20 gram Airsoft BB’s. My only real grip with the ASG CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1 6mm AEG Airsoft Gun is the limited battery choice since the internal storage ares is very constricted. Other than that this Airsfot Gun is a winner and worth taking a look at if you can get your hands on one.
In this Field Test Shooting Video I put the ASG Steyr Arms Scout Bolt Action Spring Airsoft Rifle through the regular Replica Airguns Indoor Field Test by first testing out the velocity and placing several rounds through my Chronograph to see what the actual fps is using both .20 gram and .40 gram Airsoft BB’s. Then I setup a fresh paper target 30 feet downrange and place 10 rounds into it to see how tight of a grouping I can get. Starting off with my real world velocity test for the ASG Steyr Arms Scout Bolt Action Spring Airsoft Rifle I decided to use both .20 and .40 gram Airsoft BB’s to see what a difference of double the weigth form the claimed for would actually be since for the most art this Airsoft Sniper Rifle is really meant to be using heavier Airsoft BB’ closer to the .40 gram weight. I was kind of expecting the heavier .40 gram BB’s to shoot almost half as fast since they where double the weight bu this was not the case! I shot 5 rounds with each weight Airsoft BB and with the .20 gram I averaged 479 which was actually faster than claimed, When I switched up to the .40 gram Airsoft BB’s I was surprised to get an average of 373 so only around 100 fps slower!
Moving on to the accuracy portion of my Indoor Field Test here in the Replica Airguns Sea Can, as always I placed a fresh paper target 30 feet downrange and proceeded to shoot 10 .40 gram Airsoft rounds into it from a rested and seated shooting position to allow for best possible results with as little human error added in. I was using a 4x optical scope since the ASG Steyr Arms Scout Bolt Action Spring Airsoft Rifle has a the added rail on top just fo this purpose and I would imaging most people are going to want to add a magnified scope to this Airsoft Sniper Rifle rather than use the built in pop iron sights that by the way are not adjustable. I know 30 feet is not the range one would be shooting this rifle at but it’s all I have for an indoor shooting range and it will give us an idea of what we can expect shooting further out… as in a nice tight group at 30 feet is going to mean better accuracy than a spread out grouping art 30 feet. I will say the ASG Steyr Arms Scout Bolt Action Spring Airsoft Rifle probably got one of the best groupings for an Airsoft Rifle that I have tested at 30 feet placing all 10 rounds within about an inch to an inch an a half.
I would like to take this Airsoft Sniper Rifle outside and see what it can do at much further out ranges again using nice and heavy Airsoft BB’s when it gets a bit warmer and stops raining so much :) But for now my Indoor Field Test performed about as good of a result as I can expect. The ASG Steyr Arms Scout Bolt Action Spring Airsoft Rifle is a really well made which paid off in two it performed for me. I don’t really see any need to upgrade this Airsoft Sniper Rifle other than adding an optical scope and perhaps investing in some high quality Airsoft Ammo.
In this Field Test Shooting Video I put the ASG Action Army T-11 Spring Powered Bolt Action Airsoft Gun through it’s paces by first testing out the velocity placing several rounds through my Chronograph, and then I setup a paper target downrange and place 10 rounds into it to see how tight of a grouping I can get. Starting off with my real world velocity test for the ASG Action Army T-11 Spring Powered Bolt Action Airsoft Gun, I decided to use .28 gram Airsoft BB’s for this entire Field test Shooting video so I was expecting to get somewhere between 20-25% slower fps velocity as compared to the standard tested .20 gram Airsoft BB’s. After placing around 6 shots through my Chronograph I averaged 328 fps which ended up being 18% slower than the claimed 400 fps made by ASG. I would image if I had used .20 gram Airsoft BB’s I may have even exceeded 400 fps.
Moving on to the accuracy portion of my Indoor Field Test here in the Replica Airguns Sea Can, as always I placed a fresh paper target 30 feet downrange and proceeded to shoot 10 rounds into it from a rested and seated shooting position to allow for best possible results with as little human factor added in. I was using a 4x optical scope since the ASG Action Army T-11 Spring Powered Bolt Action Airsoft Gun does not come with any type of sighting system included so I did have to sight it in initially. I did manage to get a nice 1.5 inch grouping fairly close to the bullseye but I did notice that if I angled the barrel down a bit, BB’s would roll out of the barrel which made me wonder if the hop-up was set high enough to engage a BB.
So I did my second test with the hop-up set in the middle range and this time BB’s did not fall out of the barrel when angled down. After the hop-up adjustment I did notice I was shooting a bit higher which is expected with more hop-up adjustment so if you are experiencing BB’s falling out of the barrel then make sure to adjust your hop-up a bit tighter.
All in all the ASG Action Army T-11 Spring Powered Bolt Action Airsoft Gun performed very well for me especially once I got the hop-up figured out. And I do think it makes for a really nice compact Sniper Rifle if bulkiness is a factor for you, if not then checkout the Rifle version of this gun with the more traditional but-stock and longer barrel.
Today I decided to get outside since the weather was nice and make my Field Test Shooting Video for the ASG TAC-6 CO2 Airsoft Rifle (actually outside in the filed!) After all the ASG TAC-6 CO2 Airsoft Rifle is a sniper rifle and so I wanted to test it out at longer ranges than my 30 foot indoor shooting range can allow for. So I setup two paper targets at around 40 feet and 80 feet out, the actually distance may have been longer than that?
Starting off my Field Test Review I placed five .25 gram plastic Airsoft BB’s through my Chronograph and averaged 446 fps which is 6 fps faster than the claimed 440 fps from ASG. And that was with .25 gram Airsoft BB’s so if I was using lighter .20 gram BB’s I would expect velocity closer to around 500fps so don’t be shooting anyone with this Airsoft Rifle at close ranges!
Next I proceeded with my accuracy test placing 5 rounds on the target setup around 40 feet downrange. I managed to get all 5 rounds within about 2 inches of each other, not bad since this is a good 10 feet more than I usually test my Airsoft Rifles at. With the remaining 10 rounds in my magazines I was hoping to get at least a couple shots on my paper target setup a good 80 feet away but did not have much luck, I even reloaded the 15 round stick magazine 2 more times and gave it a go but again with no success! The Airsoft BB’s seemed to want to angle off in all direction usually up and to the right or left right before the 80 foot target, perhaps I would have had much better luck at 60 feet?
All I can surmise from this higher range Field Test is that the ASG TAC-6 CO2 Airsoft Rifle is not really a long range Airsoft gun at least with the .25 gram Airsoft BB’s I was using, maybe heavier Airsoft BB’s would settle down a bit more? I can say at ranges up to 40 feet the ASG TAC-6 CO2 Airsoft Rifle did perform just fine so keep that in mind when looking into buying one of these as smoking cans at 30-40 feet will be no problem and make for some fun times in the back yard or even basement makeshift gun range.
This may the one of the most Airguns I have tested out at the same time here in the Replica Airguns Indoor Shooting Range. It took a little bit longer than normal but I go through it with only one of the CO2 Blowback BB Pistols acting up juts a bit at the beginning. After a quick fix the rest of the show went on the road you could say!
What exactly was the purpose of testing out 5 CO2 Blowback BB Pistols all together? I wanted to compare my most compact CO2 Blowback BB Pistols to each other to see which one performed the best in my Chronograph Velocity Test and 30 foot 10 Round Target Test. There was no definitive clear winner at the end of the day two of the Air Pistols performed almost the same and then the rest kind of lingered behind them to lesser degrees.

In this Field Test Shooting Video I shoot the ASG CZ P-09 Threaded Barrel CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol in my indoor Sea Can Airgun Shooting Range to see what the actual velocity is and also see how well it will group shooting 10 Airsoft BB’s at a paper target 30 feet down range. I was using .25 gram Airsoft BB’s for my testing purposes with Propane Gas as my propellant. The temperature inside the Sea Can was around 26 degrees Celsius (79 degrees Fahrenheit).
I started off my Field Test Shooting video with the Chronograph portion of my test and placed 5 shots through my Chrony using a brand new 12 gram CO2 cartridge. I have to mention the fps consistency was very impressive with all five shots only varying within 6 fps of each other the slowest being 330 fps and the fastest test shot being 336 fps. My end 5 shot average fps was 33fps again using a .25 gram Airsoft BB.
I then loaded my ASG CZ P-09 Threaded Barrel CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol with 10 rounds for the accuracy portion of my test and was able to get all 10 shots within a nice 2 inch grouping. The shot placement was well centered left to right and a little bit high on target which I am sure could be adjusted for using the hop-up.
The ASG CZ P-09 Threaded Barrel CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is a rally nice Airsoft pistol, it has a great trigger with a firm blowback action. The super consistent fps is pretty much exactly where you want it to be, just powerful enough to allow for Canada import but not too powerful for Airsoft gaming. The accuracy was also very good right out of the box so pretty much nothing to complain about in terms of performance. Another nice Airsoft product from ASG!
I got the chance to Field Test another 4.5mm Steel BB Air Rifle. Most of the time I'm testing out pistols so the opportunity to shoot some rounds through a rifle is a nice change. Todays Air Rifle test subject was the ASG TAC-4.5 CO2 BB Air Rifle and by the way it also comes in a 6mm Airsoft version called the ASG TAC-6 CO2 Airsoft Rifle. Maybe down the road I will see how the 6mm Airsoft version compares to the 4.5mm Steel BB version...
Right out of the get go the ASG TAC-4.5 CO2 BB Air Rifle surprised me with some rather high velocity shots going through my Chrony Chronograph. The highest FPS shot getting up to 538 fps and the slower shot which was the 5th shot slowing down a bit to 485 fps. My 5 shot average was still up and over 500 fps at 514 fps.
If you're worried about the ASG TAC-4.5 CO2 BB Air Rifle being legal as an unregulated firearm in Canada, there is no need to be concerned since the 500 fps limitation also requires a foot pound energy of over 4.2 foot pounds for the airgun to require a firearms license (both thresholds must be met). A 4.5mm steel BB weighs in at around 5.1 grain and even with the fastest shot of 538 fps, the foot pound energy would only be 3.28 foot pounds so nope, no PAL required.
OK so the ASG TAC-4.5 CO2 BB Air Rifle has some decent power, what about accuracy? Again the ASG TAC-4.5 CO2 BB Air Rifle came through with flying colors! I was able to get about a 1 inch 10 shot grouping even though I was struggling to use the peep sight. My old eyes really find it hard to focus using a peep sight. I would suggest a red dot or even a low powered optical scope since the ASG TAC-4.5 CO2 BB Air Rifle has a rail for this purpose. I did find that the ASG TAC-4.5 CO2 BB Air Rifle shot a little bit low and slightly to the right. This can easily be corrected by adjusting the rear iron sight since it has windage and elevation settings.
The ASG TAC-4.5 CO2 BB Air Rifle would really be a great plinker even shooting objects at ranges up to 50 feet you should still be able to nail a pop can with no problems. The double action trigger is a bit long and not the lightest I have used but you can still get shots off fairly quickly. In this Field Test Shooting Video Review I mainly focus on the ASG CAA M4 Sportline AEG Airsoft Rifle and put it through my typical velocity and accuracy tests I conduct in the Replica Airguns Sea Can Shooting Range. I do compare the ASG CAA M4 Proline AEG Airsoft Rifle to the ASG CAA M4 Sportline version since they look virtually identical but do have some notable differences, like the build materials and much lower cost for the ASG CAA M4 Sportline AEG Airsoft Rifle. That said both ASG CAA M4 AEG Airsoft Rifles did perform very similarly other than a bit of a velocity bump with the ASG CAA M4 Proline model over the Sportline I test in this video.
So how did the ASG CAA M4 Sportline AEG Airsoft Rifle perform? I placed 5 rounds through my Chrony Chronograph using .20 gram plastic Airsoft BB's and I got a 335 average fps which is a bit lower than the ASG CAA M4 Proline AEG Airsoft Rifle but still great for a variety of Airsoft shooting situations. I did notice that the FPS seemed to be creeping up slowly as I tested it, maybe some break in was taking place?
Moving on to the accuracy portion of my indoor field test, I place my paper target 30 feet down range and put 10 rounds into the target shooting from a rested seated position with a sandbag up front. The ASG CAA M4 Sportline AEG Airsoft Rifle shot a nice 1.5 to 2 inch grouping a little to the right of the bulls-eye and slightly low, which I can easily correct using the adjustable sights and hop-up adjustments. I like to conduct my field tests with all the guns right out of the box and with no adjustments prior to my testing since that's the way you're going to get them and you may have to also make some small correction to the sights and or hop-up adjustments.
In full auto mode the ASG CAA M4 Sportline AEG Airsoft Rifle didn't miss a beat. I emptied what was left of the mag (About 130 rounds or so) in no time with a few quick bursts making a nice mess of the paper target which is the result I'm looking for in full auto mode :)

Well the Shipping Container Office and Airgun Shooting Range is finally all ready to use and so for this first ever airguns shooting video in it, I simply wanted to try out a couple of airguns and see how this new setup worked. I also wanted to play around with some camera position setup to see how it all looked and if there will be any additional lighting or placement considerations.
I've already done Table Top Video Review for both the ASG CZ Scorpion VZ61 and the ASG B&T BT5 AEG 6mm Airsoft Guns so make sure to checkout both those videos.
What I hav not done so far is make a Filed Test Shooting video for either gun since this winter has been rather brutal here in BC Canada. Today I did manage to get outside and put some rounds through both the ASG CZ Scorpion VZ61 and the ASG B&T BT5 AEG 6mm Airsoft Guns so at least I can report back to everyone on how they performed for me. Sorry still no actual shooting video as my outside time was kind of limited due to it still being cold, we are even expecting some more snow tonight and over the next few days and it's March!
Getting back to my preliminary shooting testing, the ASG CZ Scorpion VZ61 only shot a slight bit higher then 250 but it was the more accurate of the two AEG Airsoft Guns getting close to a 1 inch 10 shot grouping using my standard 30 foot back semi rested shooting position. It did shoot a bit low but perhaps a hop-up adjustment should fix that problem.
Next up I tested out the ASG B&T BT5 MP5 PDW Replica and it did have a little more power hitting closer to 300 fps but it was not as accurate as the CZ shooting a bit high and to the left with most shots within about 1.5 inches, still pretty decent from 30 feet back.
Overall both AEG Airsoft Guns where fun to shoot and when I did let them lose to shoot in full auto mode they performed as expected laying down a stream of Airsoft BB's till the mags where empty :)
My 5 shot Chronograph test resulted in a much lower than expected average velocity of around 265 fps, the ASG CZ 75 P-07 Duty CO2 Airsoft Pistol did start off in the mid350 range but then suddenly drop into the mid 200 fps range and according to ASG's rating, we should of been getting closer to 400 fps so something may have been up with this gun? My 10 shot accuracy test from 30 feet out using a semi rested position came in at around 4 inches. I am happy to say that my shots did seem to get to the target a bit faster than I was expecting with such a low fps chronograph testing. In terms of shot placement the ASG CZ 75 P-07 Duty CO2 Airsoft Pistol shot a bit high and to the left so you may have to adjust your aim point since there is no hop-up or windage adjustments on this pistol.
I was expecting a lot more power from the ASG CZ 75 P-07 Duty CO2 Airsoft Pistol since the 4.5mm Steel BB version of this same gun even with blowback operation still got an average of closer to 350 fps? I do like the lighter single action trigger the blowback version offers but the double action trigger of the non-blowback version is pretty good, not too heavy and fairly smooth. You can also expect to get at least 100 shots or more from a single 12 gram CO2 which makes this an relatively inexpensive gun overall.

My 5 shot Chronograph test resulted in an average velocity of just over 400fps while my 10 shot accuracy test from 30 feet out using a semi rested position came in at around 2 inches for most of the shots with a few hitting a bit higher. I did have one misfeed which resulted in a double shot for the next trigger pull, those shots obviously did not hit the target as well as expected. For some reason I got a double shot when I tested the 4.5mm Steel BB version so perhaps this is something inherent to this air pistol? In terms of shot placement the ASG CZ 75D Compact CO2 Airsoft Pistol shot fairly well centered left to right but on the high side near the top of the target. You should be able to adjust the internal hop-up to lower the shots a bit if need be.
The ASG CZ 75D Compact CO2 Airsoft Pistol is about what I expected in terms of performance since I have already shot the 4.5mm Steel BB version but with the blowback option. I do like the lighter single action trigger the blowback version offers but the double action trigger of the non-blowback version is pretty good, not too heavy and fairly smooth. You can also expect to get at least 100 shots or more from a single 12 gram CO2 which makes this an relatively inexpensive gun to buy and shoot.

In this Field Test Shooting Reviews I test out the ASG Ruger MK II CO2 6mm Airsoft Pistol and put five rounds through my Chronograph to find out what the average fps is using .20 gram BB's and a brand new 12 gram CO2 cartridge. ASG claims 417 fps, I was expecting to get pretty close to that but did average a little bit lower at right around 399 but it was only about 7 degrees Celsius or 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Kind of a cold one!
I also shoot the ASG Ruger MK 2 CO2 6mm Airsoft Pistol from the 30 foot range since I hadn't had a chance to shoot it yet. While shooting from a semi rested position at 30 feet back, I was able to get a 5 inch 10 shot group but did notice that the bulk of the shoots seemed to all hit within a 2 inch group with two outliers that shot a bit low and to the right. The other 8 shots all hot really close to dead center on the target. All the ASG Ruger MK pistols have both adjustable hop-up and a rear sight that is adjustable for windage so you should be able to dial this gun in for your shooting style. The trigger pull on the ASG Ruger MK II CO2 6mm Airsoft Pistol is double action only and kind of on the long side but it is pretty smooth and has a nice satisfying metallic click to it when released, I found it pretty easy to shoot but it does take some practice time to get the feel for it.
If you are a Ruger MK series 22LR shooter than you may just want to get your hands on one of these and have the freedom of being able to shoot it just about anywhere for even cheaper than using 22LR ammo!

This comparison Review Video serves a few purposes, first to compare the ASG Dan Wesson 715 Revolver 4.5mm steel BB version to the 6mm plastic Airsoft version in both velocity and accuracy. Secondly to give my new Chrony Chronograph with lighting kit a test to see if I can get more reliable readings in lower light and thirdly to try and redeem the Steel BB version of the Dan Wesson 715 as last time I tested it, it did not get all that high of fps readings, well below the claimed 430 on the box.
In this review video I test both Dan Wesson 715 Revolvers out, first with my Chrony Chronograph and then all in one take I setup and shoot 6 rounds each on separate paper targets from 30 feet back to see how accurate the smaller heavier Steel BB rounds are compared to the larger lighter Plastic BB's. I used 5.1 grain RWS 4.5mm Steel BB's and .20 gram 6mm plastic BB's and installed brand new 12 gram CO2 cartridges in both guns.
In terms of my Chrony consistency, the smaller steel BB's still struggled to get consistent readings with only 2 out of 6 shots while the larger Airsoft BB's managed to get a good reading 4 out of 6 shots. Steel BB velocity was right around 350 fps while the Airsoft BB's where travelling much faster at closer to 450 fps.
Both the Steel BB and Airsoft CO2 Dan Wesson 715 Revolvers shot 6 round grouping of about 2 inches with 4 out of the 6 shots making a much tighter 1 inch group again with both ammo types. The Airsoft Dan Wesson 715 seemed to be centered on target well while the Steel BB Dan Wesson 715 shot a bit low.
Seems like all I am focussing on is Airsoft guns lately, well that's just what is coming across my table at the moment... Don't worry I am sure there will be some BB gun reviews coming up shortly :) Anyway in this Field Test Shooting Review I take a look at the ASG Bersa BP9CC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol and test its accuracy and velocity. Getting to the actual Field Test Shooting review, I performed my standard five round Chronograph velocity fps test using .20 gram plastic Airsoft BB's with a brand new 12 gram CO2. The fastest Airsoft BB achieved by the ASG Bersa BP9CC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol was 413 fps and the slowest came in at 342 fps with a five shot average of 390 fps. The slowest shot was the last one in my Chronograph test and it even sounded a bit different like it wasn't getting full CO2 from the valve. This would present a problem later on in my accuracy test as it seemed the CO2 valve need to working in before this gun started to perform properly. I am guessing there may have been some debris in the valve area that needed to work its way out?
On with my Field Test Shooting portion of this review to determine the accuracy of the ASG Bersa BP9CC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol. I set myself up 30 feet back shooting from a semi-rested position (Sand bag up front and standing in the back). This shooting position serves to provide a stable shooting platform for overall accuracy and what I should expect to get from the ASG Bersa BP9CC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol. Keep in mind the results are always dependant on how I shoot on the day of my testing.
I shot rounds through the ASG Bersa BP9CC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol but as I mentioned before I believe the CO2 valve was messing with the guns performance, so what was happening was some shots would get full Co2 and work fine while other shots only got a portion of the CO2 which did not allow for the blowback action to fully cycle and caused the internal hammer to not get set in the full cocked position. I did get about half of my shots to hit the target but my results where not what I would expect from the ASG Bersa BP9CC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol. It is more than capable of getting at least a 4 inch group from 30 feet out so don't take this particular test to seriously.
After tearing down my camera gear I decided to load up another CO2 into the ASG Bersa BP9CC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol and shot several magazines through it. This did seem to fix the problem and which leads me to believe that I simply needed to work this gun in a little bit. Out of the box Airguns can have some machining materials in them that can cause performance issues as I believe was the case for the ASG Bersa BP9CC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol. Luckily I was able to get mine working properly!
This Field Test Shooting Video Review focuses on the performance results of the ASG Dan Wesson 715 CO2 BB Revolver. I put it through my standard Field Test to see what kind of feet per second performance it can achieve using 5.1 grain Steel 4.5mm BB's. I also perform my standard 6 shot Revolver accuracy test from 30 feet back with a semi rested shooting position to see how this very modern 6 shooter groups on a paper target.
In the first portion of the fps velocity test, I used my temperamental Chronograph shooting 6 rounds in total with a brand new CO2. Out of the 6 shots I did mange to get 3 good readings so I guess it could have been worse. The fps reading for the three shots where 338, 331 and 326 with a three shot average of 332 fps. Not what I expected from the ASG Dan Wesson 715 CO2 BB Revolver since the claimed fps is closer to 430 and it was not an overly cold day so I should have been in the ball park. Perhaps my Chrony is not reading like it should be and maybe it's time for a new one :(
Next on my Field Test Shooting list was the accuracy portion of this review. I performed my standard 30 foot back paper target shooting test using my standard semi-rested position, standing in the back with a sandbag up front to rest my hands on for stability. This position is fairly steady but not perfect so there is always some human factor to consider. I had to perform this part of the test twice as one of my cameras was not rolling in the first go around. Unfortunately the first test was the best but I can say the ASG Dan Wesson 715 CO2 BB Revolver is very capable of getting all 6 shots under 1 inch with a little practice and a steady hand
I really love the new ASG Dan Wesson 715 CO2 BB Revolver, it's for sure a much better made version than the older Dan Wesson and it seems ot be just as accurate. I am almost positive this pistol shoots harder than what my Chronograph was giving it credit for, you can just tell by how quick the BB's are getting to the target. so perhaps another FPS test is in order to find out for sure. Other than that the ASG Dan Wesson 715 CO2 BB Revolver is an awesome modern shell loading CO2 six shooter and a lot of fun to shoot.

I have to be honest and say that there may have been a problem with the valve in my test unit since I was getting really inconsistent velocity readings using my Chronograph to test out the fps. I could even hear the difference in how much CO2 was being let out with each shot and even the recoil from the blowback slide was sometimes very hard and sometimes very soft. I did end up getting an average of 356 fps but it ranged anywhere from 420 right down to below 300 fps?
With the extreme velocity readings I was getting I did not expect the ASG Bersa BP9CC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol to be super accurate as velocity can really effect the high and low target placement but I was surprised when pretty much all the shots hit within a 3 inch group, with the excepting of a double shot that obviously shot slow and low. This double shot was a result of the slide not kicking back all the way and not reset the single action internal hammer so when I pulled back the trigger I loaded a round into the barrel but could not fire the gun. Resulting in me having to manually pull the slide back and then pull the trigger back a second time, loading a second Airsoft BB into the barrel and firing both BB's at the same time.
My 4.5mm Steel BB version did not seem to have this inconsistent power problem so it may be that my gun either needed some break in time or perhaps had a faulty valve? Even so It actually performed well during the accuracy portion of the test for me.
