WE 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol Field Test Review

In this Field Test Shooting Video I perform two main test using the WE 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol. A chronograph test to see what the real world velocity is and then I perform an accuracy test to see how accurate the WE 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol is at 30 feet away. If you are interested more in specifications and details along with close up video of the WE 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol then check out my Table Top Video Review for it where I even do a field strip on camera.

Starting off with my chronograph velocity test. I decided to find out what the differences would be using the internal short barrel and the extended external barrel since the WE 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol does come with both to allow for higher fps and easier import into Canada. The WE 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol is rated for 360+ fps using the extended longer barrel so I started with that one first and was able to achieve a 383 fps 4 shot average. Switching to the shorter internal only barrel the velocity was reduces as expected and I got an average 3 shoot velocity of 300 fps. So it is safe to say that the barrel extension added an additional 80+ fps to the velocity!

Next I placed a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and shot 10 rounds into it using a seated shooting position with my hands resting on a sand bag up front, this allows for a fairly stable platform to shoot from but is not without some human factor. I also decided to use the barrel extension for this test as the threading on the end of the internal barrel can disrupt airflow causing turbulence a bit and effect accuracy. I was able to get around a 2.5 inch grouping with my 10 rounds. The WE 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol shot fairly well on the bullseye up and down with the out of the box hop-up setting but it did shoot just slightly to the left. Since there are no sight adjustments you will have to factor this into your aim point when shooting out at farther ranges, but at around 30 feet you should not have much problem shooting a human sized target or even a pop can.

All in all the WE 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol perfumed as expected with consistent fps and a nice 10 shot grouping on my paper target. I did find the sights a bit hard to see as my eyes are not what they use to be so black sighted pistols with whit dot sights make it a lot easier for me to line up my target. People with younger eyes will most likely not have this problem but for us a bit older guys, keep this in mind. If you’re looking for a classic 1911 A1 that performs well and looks really nice then the WE 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol may be just the perfect fit for you!

G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol Field Test Review

I’m going to start off by saying this Field Test Shooting Review for the G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol did not go all that well as I had some complications with this Airgun when chambering rounds. I am pretty sure it is magazine related and hope to try a different magazine with it soon. I say this because I am following through with my review regardless of my initial results to demonstrate that not all Airguns perform as expected during my reviews and sometimes you get a lemon even with a good quality brand like G&G.

I am fairly certain the defect in this case for the G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol was the magazine tip being too tight and not allowing an Airsoft BB to position all the way to the top of the magazine which means when the slide cycled and the nozzle was in position to push an Airsoft BB into the breach, it simple was hitting the top of the BB and pushing it even further into the magazine. All said and done I was able to test the fps and accuracy on target so let’s get on with my review.

Using .20 gram Airsoft BB’s with a fully filled propane gas magazine in my G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol, I was able to get 6 recoreded shots through my Chronograph averaging 319 fps. The slowest shot being 313 fps and the fastest shot hitting 330 fps. The temperature was right around room temperature so around 22 degrees Celsius or 72 degrees Fahrenheit.

As I was having issues with with the G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol chambering rounds with the .20 gram Airsoft BB’s. I was hoping that when I switched to a different .32 gram Airsoft BB for my target portion of this review that perhaps the different Airsoft BB’s would chamber better but they did not. To get through the target portion of my test, with each shot I had to drop the magazine, make sure the Airsoft BB’s was at the top of the magazine, rack the slide, insert the magazine and then release the slide. So as you can see I was resetting completely for each shot which does not always make for the tightest groupings. Surprisingly I was still able to get about a 1.5 inch grouping on my paper target setup 30 feet downrange using a rested and seated shooting position.

Not all reviews go as planned but you still have to make the best of it. I really feel the G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol is a good gun overall even though mine did not perform that well for me. When I was able to chamber a round it shot a consistent fps and placed Airsoft BB’s downrange accurately and very close to the bullseye. Perhaps simply by swapping out the magazine I will have a much more reliable Airsoft gun? I will have to get back to you on that one.

KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol Field Test Review

In this Field Test Shooting Video Review I test out the performance of the KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol to find out exactly what kind of power to expect and to see what kind of accuracy we can get shooting at a paper target 30 feet down range. if you are interested in some more closeup shots and perhaps information and features than checkout my KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol Table Top Review Video.

Starting off with the feet per second performance, I placed 6 shots through my Chronograph using a full propane filled magazine with .20 gram Plastic Airsoft BB’s. They all shot between 343 and 346 fps which was extremely consistent for a gas blowback Airsoft pistol. The average was 345 fps which was pretty decent for just below room temperature shooting.

Moving onto the Target accuracy portion of my Filed Test Shooting Video I first setup a brand new paper target 30 feet down range and proceeded to place 10 well placed shots into it. I did not adjust the hop-up since I wanted to get an out of the box shooting experience. I was abel to get a fairly tight 10 shot grouping of right around 3 inches. I did shoot just a bit to the left and slightly low to the the bullseye but not too far off. There are no sight adjustment on this Airsoft Pistol so windage adjustments are going to have to be made using aim point. I could adjust the hop-up to accommodate for elevation and bring the accuracy up as needed.

Overall I was very pleased with the KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol, it shot pretty hard for a non-CO2 GBB Airsoft pistol and also did not let me down in the accuracy department either. I did notice that the slide was not locking back for me when the magazine was out of ammo, this may be due to the fact that the KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol has such tight slide and frame tolerances. Perhaps a little more break in time is required or a touch of lubricant on the slide raise will make the slide cycle a bit more freely. Even so the KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol is a really nice 1911 A1 Airsoft gun that just feels great to shoot.

The grip safety si functional like a real 1911 also so it will needed to be engaged with your hand in order for the trigger to function.

Accuracy: I have not shot the KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol so far but plan to do so this week so I can have my Full Field Test Shooting Video Review for you ASAP. Keep posted as I this is next on my list!

Build Quality: KWA in my opinion makes some of the highest quality Airsoft guns in the industry in their given price range which I would say is about mid point. The KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol is an all metal (Alloy) Airsoft gun with nice finishing and extremely tight fit. The slide has virtually no wiggle and was needed just a little bit of work in to get it operating properly, perhaps the is why a small bottle of lubricant comes with the KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol. After a few shots everything worked nice and smoothly.

Realism: The KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol is a replica of a standard 1911 A1 Military 45 Auto and is a great looking and functioning replica. You will not find actual Colt or other manufacturer licensing other than the wording “M1911A1 Autoloading Pistol” own the left side of the slide. The version I received did have a slightly elongated barrel to allow for the addition of a red painted tip, Future orders may not have this I am hoping but even if yours is the same as mine you can easily cut down the barrel and or paint over the red portion of the tip. We also offer replacement barrels in our online Canada and US Replica Airguns Store.

Available in the: Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Mostly All Metal design.

  • Fit and finish is excellent.

  • All metal magazine is as close as you’re going to get to a real 1911 magazine,

  • Very authentic 1911 A1 design.

  • SAO trigger feels great, super light trigger pull.

  • Working grip safety as you would expect.

  • All mechanical parts work just like there pal steel 1911 A1 version.

  • Comes with barrel bushing tool.

  • Magazine follower locks down for easy loading.

Cons:

  • Has elongated barrel with orange painted markings.

  • Rear sight is fixed so no adjusting with this model.

  • Will have to top up the green gas or propane with every Airsoft BB reload.

Comments:

Out of all the 1911’s on the market I have to say I like the good old fashioned simple design of the classic M1911 A1. No real bells and whistles on it and I like it that way. The KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol has also got to be one of the best made 1911’s in terms of fit and finish, the slide and frame tolerances are super tight with virtually no play or wiggle at all and the trigger is so nice and light. I just need to test it out and see how well it shoots now which I will be doing very soon so keep posted.
