Type: Blowback CO2 Airsoft Pistol. Manufacturer: Distributed by KJ Works. Model:1911 TBC. Materials: Mostly all Metal. Weight: 2.2 pounds (980 grams). Total Length: 8.6 inches (218mm) Barrel: 4.25 inches (108mm) metal non-rifled. Propulsion: CO2 x 1. Action: Semi auto blowback, SAO trigger. Ammunition Type: .6mm plastic Airsoft BB’s. Ammunition Capacity: 24 round drop out full size metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 360+.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KJWorks Full Metal 1911 TBC CO2 Airsoft Pistol is exactly what you would expect from a similar real steel 1911, it’s super short and light, the take-up is almost non-existent with a super light release. There is no adjustment on it but I don’t feel it is needed at all as this is not a competition Airgun, KJWorks does make and sell 1911’s more suited for competition shooting. There is just something about a 1911 trigger that I love!
Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the KJWorks Full Metal 1911 TBC CO2 Airsoft Pistol or even made my Field Test Shooting Performance Video. I have shot a fair amount of KJWorks Full Blowback Airsoft Pistols and they have in all seemed to perform very well for me. So I’m confident when I get to the Field Test Shooting Video for the KJWorks Full Metal 1911 TBC CO2 Airsoft Pistol I will not be disappointed in it.
Build Quality: The KJWorks line of Airsoft Guns are known for their quality build and attention to detail, the KJWorks Full Metal 1911 TBC CO2 Airsoft Pistol is no exception. It is a mostly all metal Airgun with the acceptation of the grips and gas tube, and perhaps a couple other small internal parts? Fit and finish is bang on and the slide spring feels nice and firm, which should result in a nice crisp blowback action. There is almost no slide wiggle with the KJWorks Full Metal 1911 TBC CO2 Airsoft Pistol which again speaks to the quality and workmanship of KJWorks products.
Realism: I’m not really sure how you could get a more realistic Airsoft Pistol than what you have here with the KJWorks Full Metal 1911 TBC CO2 Airsoft Pistol. It is 1 to 1 scale and functions almost identically to a real steel 1911 A1. It has full blowback operation and can be field stripped fully top to bottom. Even the grip safety is required in order to shoot it. This version in order to fit the flared out CO2 cartridges does have indents in the magwell which is different than what you would ind on a traditional 1911 but it is not super obvious.
Pros:
Pretty much all metal pistol with good weight to it.
Full heavy blowback operation.
Excellent fit and finish as always with KJWorks pistols.
High capacity full size drop out magazine that holds the Airsoft BB’s and CO2. (Can get Green Gas mags also).
Comes with barrel extension and threaded barrel tip.
Comes in all black and OD green two tone finish.
Working backstop safety
Nice short and light true 1911 style single action only trigger.
Fully field strip-able.
Cons:
Sight are non-adjustable and do not have any white or fiber inserts.
No rail mounting options.
CO2 magazine sticks out a bit.
Comments:
If you are looking for a traditional 1911 styled semi auto Colt Pistol and don’t want a more modernized 1911 then the KJWorks Full Metal 1911 TBC CO2 Airsoft Pistol has that classic look but with a bit of an upgraded magazine and the ability to add a mock compensator mainly to protect and hide the barrel extension which when added will increase the velocity and perhaps also accuracy. I like the all black version but you can also get one in two tone OD Green for a more contrasted look. Looking down the sights will be your biggest challenge with the KJWorks Full Metal 1911 TBC CO2 Airsoft Pistol, as it has standard post and notch sights that do not have any white dots or marking to assist with aiming. It will be an upgrade for sure from a lessor expensive KWC Full Blowback 1911 and I feel ti is worth the additional money especially if you are a big 1911 fan like me.
If you have been watching my Video Reviews you may have picked up on the fact that I am a bit of a 1911 fan! Perhaps it goes back to my Magnum PI day, I am sure I have watched every episode a bunch of times as a kid and growing up, Tom Selleck’s side arm of choice was the classic Colt 1911 A1 and I guess it brushed off on me. I just like the look and feel of the classic 1911!
There have been a number of BB firing Airguns that have come out over the years so I thought I would go over a few of my favorite versions and talk a little bit about their history and cover a few different version most actually made by KWC based off of their original full blowback CO2 1911.
Here are links to my YouTube Video Reviews for the CO2 BB Airguns I show and discuss in this video:
Type: BB air pistol. Manufacturer: Air Venturi - KWC. Model: Springfield Armory 1911 Mil-Spec. Materials: Pretty much all metal build. Weight: 2 pounds (907 Grams). Barrel: 4.38 inchesBrass, non-rifled. Propulsion: CO2 x1. Action: Semi auto blowback, single action only. Ammunition Type: 4.5mm Steel BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 18 rounds. FPS: 320.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Air Venturi Springfield Armory 1911 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is like all the other KWC made CO2 full blowback 1911's, it's exactly what you would expect from a real steel 1911 single action only pistol which helps to make this replica 1911 a great trainer or show piece. So in other words the trigger pull is super short, super light with very little take-up and a nice crisp break.
Accuracy: I have not shot this "exact version" of the KWC Air Venturi 1911 but it will undoubtedly perform very much like all the other incarnations. I can expect decent under 2 inch groupings from 30 feet out and will get a little over 300 fps on a full CO2 cartridges as long as it’s decently warm out. Depending on how fast I shoot off my magazines, I should expect to get around 3 good mags and if I slow things down a bit I should get a forth magazine so anywhere from 50-70 good or so shots per CO2 out of the Air Venturi Springfield Armory 1911 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. I may or may not make a Field Test Shooting Video for the Air Venturi Springfield Armory 1911 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol…
Build Quality: Very good, with almost all metal construction, good weight and craftsmanship, the KWC 1911 line of pistols have proven themselves over time, that said they will not last forever since these are not expensive guns made out of high quality metals. You will find most of these KWC pistols in general have a rather thin coating for a finish and so they tend to wear a bit on the high spots but over time this has been improving with KWC made Airguns.
Realism: This is as close as you can come to the look, weight, feel, and action of the real 1911 in virtually almost every way including the ability to field strip this pistol exactly the same! All the mechanical parts work just like they do on a real steel 1911 including the grip safety. On top of all of this Air Venturi has licensed the Air Venturi Springfield Armory 1911 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol with very realistic Springfield branding thought the Airgun.
All metal construction - Good weight and solid feeling gun.
Heavy blowback action with that 1911 sluggish feel.
Very Accurate 1911 A1 styled replica in pretty much every way.
True 1911 Single action trigger, excellent pull, very smooth and light.
Working backstop safety
3 dot white sights help with target acquisition on darker backgrounds.
Could mix and match other KWC 1911 parts.
Springfield Armory licensed by Air Venturi.
Good accuracy, not too bad amount of shots for this style of gun about 3 good magazines.
Cons:
Non adjustable sights.
Sacrifice fps and shots per CO2 because of the heavy blowback action but worth it.
Not Available at time of video.
Comments:
I really never get tired of making reviews for the KWC 1911 line of CO2 Blowback Airguns, sure they are all made from the same base KWC 1911 Aigun but each one has its own unique look and customization to it. I really like the Faux plastic wood grips with the deep Springfield Armory licensing on this version. And the matt black slide and frame with the chrome barrel and silver barrel bushing really look sharp on this 1911 BB Gun. Even though the Air Venturi Springfield Armory 1911 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is basically a standard 1911 A1, the added touch of the White Dot sights will for sure help when shooting this Blowback BB Gun at what ever target you point it at.
My Videos for the Air Venturi Springfield Armory 1911 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol:
Another Airgun Shipping Container (Sea Can) Shooting video and for this indoor filed test I put the KWC - Cybergun M45A1 1911 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol through its paces.
What I am super happy about is that my Chrony Chronograph seems to be working really well as I tested a pellet, steel BB and Airsoft pistol out today and every single round through my Chrony got a reading :)
Now back to the Field Test Shooting Review at hand... I started off by placing 5 shots through my Chrony Chronograph using a brand new CO2 with .20 gram Airsoft BB's and got a really consistent reading for all 5 shots with an average of 357. The lowest shot was 353 and the fastest shot was 364 so all shots where really close in velocity. The container temperature was a near perfect shooting temperature of 23 degrees Celsius which was ideal for optimal CO2 velocity testing.
During my accuracy portion of this Field Shooting Test. I used my new seated in the back and sand bag rested up front shooting position which is about 30 feet back from my paper target. I did notice during my Chrony testing that the Cybergun KWC Colt 1911 Rail Gun M45 A1 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol liked to shoot a bit high, perhaps the hop-up needs a bit of twerking? So for my accuracy testing I shot at the bottom ring of the target, this helped me get more shots on the paper for sure but the Airsoft BB's still moved around a bit vertically. I was able to get about a 4-5 inch 10 shot grouping which is totally acceptable for a close range Airsoft sidearm and in an Airsoft battle I would think even shooting at about 50 feet or so I could easily hit a persons mid section consistently.
The Cybergun KWC Colt 1911 Rail Gun M45 A1 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol has a ton of blowback kick to it and a super nice single action trigger like all the KWC 1911's The modern Tactical coloration and trimmings makes this pistol a great choice as a present day side arm. It's real looker for sure with performance to match!
