In this Field Test Shooting video for the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle, I test it out to see what to expect in terms of velocity in fps by shooting several rounds through my Chronograph and averaging them out. I also shot the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle both in semi and full auto on a paper target setup 30 feet away to see if I can get a decent grouping in both semi and full auto. Starting with power and velocity, I loaded up the magazine with as much gas as I could get into it, along with enough .20 gram Airsoft BB’s to average out at least 5 shots. I ended up using 6 shots in total for an average of 393 fps. Each individual shot was as follows… 427, 383, 368, 410, 406, 363 FPS. The temperature in the Indoor Airgun Sea Can Shooting Range was around 20 degree Celsius or 68 degrees Fahrenheit, so not overly warm or cool, In cooler or warmer temperatures the velocity will go up and down a little bit.

Moving on to accuracy, I first performed my test with the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle in semi auto to see what kind of 10 shot grouping I could get. I did not make any sight adjustments and just shot it right out of the box. My standard test is from 30 feet out shooting using a seated position in the back with my hands on a sand bag up front, this allows for a fairly stable shooting position. I did up the weight of my Airsoft BB’s to .25 grams which can help a little bit with accuracy, but I would suggest going even heavier with this Airsoft Rifle, perhaps try out .30 gram Airsoft BB’s. That said I was able to get a 3 inch 10 shot grouping that shot several inches below the bullseye I was aiming at, and just slightly to the left but not by much. I then switched over to full auto and probably should have aimed higher since this Gas Blowback Airsoft Rifle really kicks and moves around. Unfortunately most of my full auto shots went low and did not record on the paper so it is hard to say what the spread of the group was in Full Auto but I know it did open up a lot.

I really enjoy shooting and testing out Gas Blowback Airsoft Rifles since most are generally AEG and don’t have all the recoil and blowback action. GBB Airsoft Rifles not only look and feel much more real, that blowback action simulates the trigger feel and shooting experience so much more. Compared to an AEG velocity is less consistent not only between shots but as you shoot the gas cools down the Airgun resulting in slower and slower velocity which is even more noticeable in full auto when using a GBB Airsoft Rifle. I would personally use the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle mostly in semi auto as it shot very reliably in semi auto, full auto is a bit chaotic and your accuracy really suffers in full auto. The Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle is about as realistic as you can get to experiencing a real steel AR type Rifle but it is fairly expensive at the end of the day and in terms of perforce you will get more out of even a middle of the road AEG Airsoft Rifle. So if realism is more important than performance and lower cost, I would go with something like the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle.

If you like or own a Ruger 10/22 then the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle might be just what you are looking for as it shares a lot in common with the Ruger 10/22 22LR but of course this one is 6mm Airsoft which means you can buy it and shoot it a lot easier at least here in Canada with no license or registration required. In this Indoor Shooting Field Test Video I checkout the velocity in fps and I also shoot 10 rounds into a paper target setup 30 feet down range to see if it is capable of getting a decent grouping. Starting with power/velocity. I loaded up the magazine with .20 gram Airsfot BB’s and stuffed as much Gas into the magazine as it would hold, I then proceeded to shoot 5 Airsoft BB’s through my Cronograph resulting in an average of 318 fps. The actual recorded shots were as follows: 321, 313, 318, 320, 320 fps. The temperature was perhaps a bit below actual room temperature on this day but it was not cold at all as you can see since I was wearing my trademark wife beater… In warmer conditions I would assume a slightly higher velocity could be achieved but the result I got was well suited for close quarters shooting.

Moving on to the accuracy for the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle. Since it did not come with any actual sights, I had to steel a red dot from one of my Crosman AR BB Rifles, I did not adjust the red dot hoping it would at least get shots on the pepper and it did for the most part, but it was shooting on the high side. Some of the shots did get up into the metal clip but from what I could see after shooting an additional 7 shots (all I had left in the mag), the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle was shooting groupings about 2 inch from 30 feet away. A respectable result using .20 gram Airsoft BB’s, heavier BB’s will generally get tighter groupings. I was not concerned with shot placement as I did not sight in the red dot at all before shooting.

Again, if you like shooting something like a Ruger 10/22 then you will be totally at home with the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle, it may even be somewhat cross compatible with Ruger 10/22 accessories but I am not 100% sure. I had no issues with the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle in terms of blowback operation or BB’s cycling properly for me and the trigger is really nice on it, vey similar to what you would find on a real steel Ruger 10/22. The blowback action is not overly heavy as it is just the bolt that rocks back and forth. I also found that you can easily get through the 36 round magazine on a single gas fill with gas left to spare even when shooting fast. The Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle is not a cheap Airsoft Rifle, it’s actually more money than an real steel Ruger 10/22 but once you have it, you can shoot the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle for pennies a shot and in a lot more locations. No need for a gun range or wilderness setting.

Another Field Test Shooting Video to showcase a full blowback CO2 Airsoft Pistol, in this Shooting Review I find out if the KJWorks KP-19 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol can perform up to par in terms of power and accuracy. I test the velocity using my Chronograph shooting five shots through it and average them out. I then test the accuracy by shooting ten rounds at a paper target and see how close we get to the center out of the box, and how tight I can get that grouping to shoot for me. In the velocity portion of my Field Test Shooting Video I put a brand new 12 gram CO2 cartridge in the KJWorks KP-19 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol and fire off five rounds using .20 gram Airsfot BB’s. The temperature was right around room temperature for this test, so about 20 degrees Celsius or 68 degrees Fahrenheit. My five shot average was 351 fps with each shot reading: 364, 362, 352, 341, 336 fps. Right about what I was expecting for this CO2 Airsoft Pistol. Keep in mind it does come with a barrel extension which when installed will add some additional power/velocity but I don’t think having a long thin metal inner barrel sticking out of an Airsoft gun is really very practical.

Moving on to the accuracy portion of my Filed Test for the KJWorks KP-19 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol, again it performed well for me. My ten shot grouping from 30 feet away with the exception of one flyer got me a 2 inch grouping which was pretty close to the center bullseye. Just a bit to the left if anything. The flyer was probably my fault as there is always going to be some human factor when performing an accuracy shooting test like this. I do try to get as stable as possible by sitting on a stool in the back with my hands resting on a sand bag up front. But a respectable grouping for sure even with the flyer.

One thing I can say about the KJWorks KP-19 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is that it is a joy to shoot, it has a lot of felt blowback recoil and the trigger is really nice being a 1911 rather short and light single action trigger. I do like 1911 pistols, this one is on the more modern side of things so if you are a purest it may not be your choice when it comes to a 1911 but in my opinion it is a really flashy looking 1911. If you want to tone it down just a bit, you could take off the compensator off which will perhaps drop a little bit of front end weight and reduce the length of it. Performance wise it is right up there with any Airsoft Pistol I have tested so keep it in mind if you’re in the market for something like this.

In this Field Test Shooting Video Review I test out the KJWorks M9A1 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol to find out what to expect in terms of velocity in fps, and accuracy shooting at a paper target setup 30 feet away. As always, I install a brand new 12 gram CO2 cartridge and place five rounds through my chronograph using .20 gram Airstot BB’ s and average them out to see what the actual velocity is. I was able to achieve a five shot average of 349 fps. Consistency between each shot was very good, here are the actual velocities for all five shots: 348, 344, 346, 356, 351 fps. The temperate in the Replica Airguns Sea Can Shooting Range was right around 20 degrees Celsius or 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep in mind the KJWorks M9A1 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol does come with a barrel extension that when installed will increase the velocity to some degree but I did not test with it as most people will not use it anyway.

Moving on to the accuracy portion of the Field Test Shooting Video, I carefully placed 10 shots on a fresh paper target setup 30 feet away. My shooting position was fairly stable with me sitting on a stool in the back with my hands resting on a sand bag up front. this is not perfect, but it does give us a good idea of what we can expect in general. Seven of the ten shots all placed around 1.5 inches apart near the top of the target and slightly to the left with two shots shooting a little bit lower extending the grouping to about 2.5 inches. I did have one flyer come out of the tighter grouping even lower and to the left that did extend the grouping to about 4 inches in total. The KJWorks M9A1 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol does not have adjustable sights but you could dial in the hop-up to perhaps lower or higher the shot placement depending on your shooting distance.

In terms of my shooting experience for the KJWorks M9A1 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol, it shot as expected with no issues and the blowback action is super snappy with a lot of simulated recoil feel to it. The single action trigger is not super light but light enough for sure to get well placed shots or faster paced action shots. Some Airguns just make you smile a little bit when you shoot them, and this one of those Airsoft guns. It does come in different color schemes, but I do like the tan version I was testing out in this video. If you are looking for a fairly classic Beretta M9A1 that is not too moderned out, then this version would be a good choice.

In this Indoor Field Test Shooting Review, I put the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol through its paces and find out what we can expect in terms of power and accuracy by first averaging 5 shots through my Chronograph to see what the real world velocity is in fps. I then shoot 10 rounds into a paper target setup 30 feet down range to see if I can get a decent grouping somewhere near the bullseye out of the box. First up I performed the power test using .20 gram Airsoft BB’s. I put a brand new 12 gram CO2 in the pistol and averaged the first 5 shots which gave me a 318 fps average. The actual shoots were as follows: 331, 322, 315, 312, 308. I didn’t take notice of the temperature but in generally I keep my Sea Can at around room temperature so not overly warm or cold. There is a barrel extension that comes with this Airsoft Pistol which will give you a bit higher velocity when installed, but I did not test the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol with the barrel extension on it as mine was broken.

Moving on to the accuracy portion of the testing I setup a fresh paper target 30 feet away and put 10 rounds into it while sitting on a stool in the back with my hands resting on a sand bag up front. This gives me pretty good stability but is not perfect and there is always going to be some human factor that can effect accuracy a little bit. That said I did manage to get around a 2.5 inch 10 shot grouping with the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol that was pretty well centered hitting the target just a tad low and to the left but pretty close to center target.

All in all the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol did a good job once I took the broken off threads out of the barrel. The trigger is really nice on it, maybe even a bit light but you will get use to it over time. The blowback is snappy and the gun holds well in the hand, a real pleasure to shoot! I did notice the slide spring feels a bit weak when you release it as it does not snap into place with a lot of authority, but this does not effect the blowback action at all and the gun shot without any problems or hiccups. If you are looking for a quality Glock styled Airsoft Pistol then the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol would make a great option for sure.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KJWorks M9A1 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is single and double action. When the hammer is back and it is in singe action, the trigger is short and light with about a quarter inch take-up before the release which is crisp and fairly light. You can decock the hammer and shoot in double action which does make the trigger pull much longer and a bit heavier but it is still very usable. There is also a semi cock-option where the hammer is partially cocked. This keeps the hammer off the firing pin and allows for a safer double action trigger pull.

Accuracy: So far I have not shot the KJWorks M9A1 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol or made my Field Test Shooting Video. I have shot lots of KJWorks Full Blowback Airsoft Pistols in the past and they have in general performed as expected. So I am confident when I get to the Field Test Shooting Video for the KJWorks M9A1 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol, it should perform well for me!

Build Quality: The KJWorks line of Airsoft Guns are known for their excellent build quality, the KJWorks M9A1 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is another example of a well made Airsoft Pistol with lots of metal parts including the slide, frame, inner and outer barrel, magazine, trigger, safety, slide catch release, take down lever and magazine release. The only real plastic I can see is the grips, butt plate, and CO2 gas nozzle. Fit and finish is really good. There is just a little bit of slide wiggle, but all the mechanical parts work well.

Realism: Most Full Blowback Airsoft Pistols are built to be as close to a real steel pistol as possible with similar dimensions, weight and feel. The blowback action gives a Blowback Airsoft Pistol the required slide action to allow for chambering of an Airsoft BB along with the reseting of the hammer, so true single action shooting is possible. Other than shooting a real steel Beretta M9A1, the KJWorks M9A1 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is as close as you can get to it. Holding this pistol in your hand, it would be hard to tell it is not the real deal.

Comments:

The Beretta M9 is a classic Semi Auto Pistol that has been used in military and police for decades and has proven itself over time. I would say it is right up there with the classic 1911 as being recognized as a dependable and solid semi auto pistol. I still kind of prefer the 1911 but I’d take a Beretta M9A1 any day of the week. You really can’t go too wrong with the KJWorks M9A1 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol, it has it all… Almost all metal build, full blowback operation with both single and double action shooting options. You have a picatinny rail for adding accessories and easy to see white dot sights front and back. This is probably one of my favorite Beretta M9’s in terms of looks and features.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KJWorks KP-19 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is excellent, it is super short and light as you would expect from a 1911 trigger, the makeup is almost non-existent with a super light release. Out of the box I find it perfect but you have the option of adjusting it with the supplied Allen key since it has competition adjustably. Like I said, out of the box it felt perfect to me so there is no real need to mess around with it.

Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the KJWorks KP-19 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol or made my Field Test Performance Video. I have shot my fair share of KJWorks Full Blowback Airsoft Pistols and they have in general performed very well for me, so I am confident when I get to the Field Test Shooting Video for the KJWorks KP-19 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol it will do a great job!

Build Quality: The KJWorks line of Airsoft Guns is known for their excellent build and overall quality and the KJWorks KP-19 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is no exception. You will find all metal for the most part including some CNC Aluminum parts like the barrel and compensator, the slide and frame are metal along with the magazine and most of the controls. The pistol grip and trigger guard is all in one and the main plastic you will find on the KJWorks KP-19 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol. Weight, feel and balance is really good.

Realism: The KJWorks KP-19 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is a double stack modern tactical 1911 in design. All of the controls and the overall design are that of a 1911 and so if you are use to shooting 1911’s, then you will be accustomed to this Airsoft Pistol. The full length blowback simulates the shooting experience along with some recoil feel and also allows for that true single action only trigger we are use to with 1911’s with its short and super light trigger pull. The KJWorks KP-19 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is fully field strippable which allows for easy to get to hop-up adjustments. I did notice that the Back-strap safety is non-functioning and just there for show, I am not sure why they did not make it a working safety?

I’ve mentioned in many of my videos how I really like 1911 styled pistols and of course ones with full blowback operation, so the KJWorks KP-19 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol for me is a winner even before I even try it. Of course how it performs is going to be the real deciding factor, even if I am rooting for it. What is not to like though? It is almost all metal, has full blowback operation, easy to see fiver optic sights front and back, the ability to add a laser or tac light up front with a red dot on the back by installing the adaptor plate so you can really dress this one up and make it your own at the end of the day.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is what you would expect from a true Single Action Only Trigger, which is nice and light and relatively short. There is some initial take up but you can feel the point near the back where the release kicks in which is extremely light and predictable with no play in it. Of course you will have to rack the slide in order to place a round in the breach and fire the first shot, after that the blowback action will do all the slide cycling for you.

Build Quality: The KJWorks line of Airsoft Guns is know for overall good quality so I expect the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol to be just the same. From my testing with the non TBC version and my initial first impressions, everything looks really good, fit and finish are excellent and as expected you will find metal parts and polymer parts in all the same places you would find them in a real steel modern semi auto pistol.

Realism: The KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is not an exact replica of a specific semi auto pistol but you could say it looks a little bit like a Glock ;) You need to be careful when it comes to Glock as they do not like it when companies copy their guns and rightly so. There is enough differences with the KJ Works KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol so it should not set off any red flags over at Glock. It’s good that there are various color options, tan, grey and black. It does seem that only the Tan and Grey two tone versions are available in the TBC version while the black version we seem to have available in the all black non-TBC version.

Let’s be clear, the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is not a Glock Replica. It is different in many ways, the idea here is that it is close enough to be a good alternative if you are use to shooting Glocks and want something to train with that looks, feels and functions a lot like a traditional Glock. I am hoping the TBC version performs as well as the non-TBC version shot for me when I made my original Field Test Shooting Video back in 2023. For me the KJWorks KP-13 TBC CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol checks all the boxes… Full blowback operation, a very good trigger, lots of realism and I am sure good performance based on my past review.

Trigger Pull: The Single Action Only trigger pull on the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle is a lot like what you would find on a real steel Ruger 10/22. It is short and light in action making it light and quick enough for action shooting or sniping with accuracy from long range. You will have to work the bolt to load an Airsoft BB in to the breach and ready the single action trigger for the first shot, but then the blowback action will do that for you for the rest of the shots.

Accuracy: I have not shot the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle or tested it out so far, so I don’t really have much to say in terms of accuracy or if it is close to the claimed 400+ fps, but I will be making a full dedicated Field Test Shooting Video for it a bit down the road when I get caught up with my Field Test Shooting Videos. So until then we will have to wait and see,

Build Quality: Novritsch is a new product line for me so I have not had much hands on with any of their guns so far. My first impressions are that they make very good quality Airsoft products using high quality materials with well thought out designs. The Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle is not super heavy even though it does incorporate a fair amount of metal components including CNC machined aluminum.

Realism: The Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle is not an exact copy or Replica of a Ruger 10/22 22LR Rifle but it does share a lot of its design and mechanical functions. Most people when they buy a base Ruger 10/22 generally do a lot of upgrading and modifications to them that ultimately make it look a lot more like the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle at the end of the day. As it is Gas Blowback it functions very similar to the real steel version with working blowback action which does give a bit of recoil to it and allows for a very nice short and light single action trigger.

Comments:

I am always a sucker for Gas Blowback Airguns in general and with Airsoft Rifles the vast majority tend to be AEG’s, so when I get the chance to review a GBB Airsoft rifle, I am always a bit excited to do so. The Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle has a lot going for it, there are lots of metal parts where you want them to be, a great single action trigger, mounting options for a red dot or optical sight along with M-LOK on the sides and bottom for whatever accessories you plan to add to it. It’s nice that it starts out pretty light as the addition of a scope, perhaps a foregrip, maybe a taclight and or laser will bring up the weight. I most certainly am looking forward to the Field Test Shooting Video so I can see how this one performs.

In this Field Test Shooting Video for the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle, I checkout the velocity and power here in the Replica Airguns Indoor Airgun Shooting Range, to find out if the real world velocity is in the ballpark of the claimed 450+ fps velocity by KJWorks. I also shoot 10 rounds into a paper target from a distance of 30 feet to see how accurate of a grouping I can get. Starting first with my velocity test, I loaded up the magazine with propane gas along with a full magazine of .20 gram Airsoft BB’s. The temperature was around 20 degrees Celsius or 68 degrees Fahrenheit, so not super warm or cold, in warmer conditions I would expect slightly higher fps from the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle. KJWorks claims 450+ fps and my testing came pretty close to this with my five Chronograph readings hitting: 468, 451, 435, 436, 426 fps. Averaging 443 fps.

Next I made sure I still had 10 Airsoft rounds in the magazine and placed a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and shot all 10 rounds into the target using a semi rested shooting position, with my hands on a sand bag up front and sitting on a stool in the back. This allows me fairly stable shooting with less human factor. I did have to aim a few inches low on the center of the target as the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle does shoot a bit high at 30 feet. 7 out of the 10 rounds hit all within about 2 inches of each other and then three rounds came out of the group increasing the 10 shot grouping from 2 inches to around 5 inches. I am wondering if perhaps I had some miss-formed Airsoft BB’s in the bunch as the shots that came out, really did come out a lot compared to the tighter 2 inch 7 shot main grouping.

Overall the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle performed well, the velocity was right on the mark and was fairly consistent dropping off a bit as the Rifle cooled down from the gas. Accuracy was very good side to side but up and down I did notice more variation. The trigger is a double action only trigger so it is a bit longer and heavier than a real steel Ruger MK1 that is known for its beautiful short and light Single Action Trigger. Still the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle performed well and I think with some good quality Airsoft BB’s, perhaps even a bit heavier than I used in this test, one could improve the accuracy at range and really be able to use this for some longer range outdoor Airsoft games. As it is a fairly light and short Rifle it would make for a super easy to pack around sniper rifle option.

In this months Replica Airguns Mystery Unboxing Preview Video, I take a look at 4 new items that showed up at my door. Two Airsoft Rifles, one being AEG and the other one a GBB. I also received two accessories for the GEM Alias super tiny multi ammo CO2 Pistol, A .50 caliber Paintball Barrel for it and and a 12 gram CO2 Adapter.

Both Airsoft Rifles are new to me from a company called Novritsch which is a higher end brand so the pricing is not cheap for either Airsoft Rifle. It was nice to get an AEG and GBB to review, the Novritsch SSR77 AEG Airsoft Rifle is a Replica of the Steyr AUG while the Novritsch SSQ22 GBB Airsoft Rifle is essentially a custom modded Ruger 10/22 copy, at least from what I can tell, it is solid and really well built.

I have already made a Table Top Video for the GEM Alias CO2 Pistol but I have been waiting for the .50 Caliber Paintball Barrel to show up so I can test out all 4 barrel ammo options. I also really wanted the 12 gram CO2 Adapter so I don’t have to use the small 8 gram CO2’s which are harder to find and not as cost effective as the 12 gram CO2. So now I am totally ready to make the GEM Field Test Shooting Review.

Luckily I was able to find some time with James again this year and James gave us all the new details on some of the KWA updated and new products. Starting with the KWA ATP-Z Blowback Airsoft Training Pistol added recently to the KWA lineup, James also showed us a few versatile Carbine Pistol Kits made specifically for the ATP-Z and ATP-GT Pistols. Not yet fully released, James went over their updated TAC-9 hopefully coming out this year. We then got a nice tour of the updated Radian Model 1 AEG Airsoft Rifle with built in recoil system also built into KWA’s Q10 AEG Airsoft Rifle.

It was nice to run into ASG (Action Sports Games) right away and talk with Bob for ASG. Bob always has a great understanding of the ASG product line and each year I Interview him and find out all the news and updated product in the ASG lineup. This year Bob’s goes over the new ASG CZ P-10 C CO2 Blowback BB Pistol, the Action Army C1 Pro Bolt Action CO2 Airsoft Rifle, ASG’s new Frag Impact Sound Grenades, along with some new additions to the Shadow 2 Series of Airsoft Pistols. Was a great start to this years SHOT Show 2025!

I’m back from SHOT Show 2025 Las Vegas and finished transferring and uploading all the video from all the cameras we shot it all on. We had a great time, we met a lot of great folks at the booths and it’s now time to put it all together and make some videos for everyone so I can share the experience!

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle is double action only which will make it a bit longer and heavier than the real steal Ruger MK1 as it is Single Action Only. The trigger is smooth however and does have a nice satisfying click to it that sounds like a firing pin being release. The unfortunate part is that the real steel version has an amazing single action only trigger so the contrast between the Airsoft and 22LR version may make this gun not as practical is an optional training tool if you own the 22LR version.

Accuracy: This part of the review is yet to be determined as I have not done my Field Test or Shooting Test for this carbine, so stay posted for my official Field Shooting Test. For now you can watch my Ruger MK I Gas version Field Test Shooting Review to get an idea on how the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle version should perform, as they are very similar with the Carbine version having a longer barrel and shoulder stock added to it with should increase the velocity and perhaps the accuracy a bit.

Build Quality: KJWorks as usual distributes quality Airguns, the fit and finish on the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle is very good and there is good use of metal where it needs to be like with the upper receiver, the inner and outer barrel, the bolt and other internal mechanical parts, the trigger, the safety, the rear fully adjustable sight and the full size drop out metal magazine that holds the Gas and the Airsoft BB's.

Realism: The KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle is based on real steel Ruger MK1 and looks very close to it for the most part. There is no blowback operation or bolt operation so that means that only a double action trigger is possible, this is a bit unfortunate since the real Ruger MK1 has an absolutely beautiful smooth and light single action trigger. On the positive side you can field strip the KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle just like the real version but you will need to remove the rear stock that covers the area you need to get to to field strip it.

• If you own a real Ruger 22LR you will be use to the design layout.

Comments:

The KJWorks MK1 Carbine Green Gas Airsoft Rifle is really just a modified MK1 Pistol by adding a longer barrel and rear shoulder stock to the pistol grip. I guess it is a good use of an already popular pistol design to give us a light weight and somewhat compact Airsoft sniper rifle for Airsoft games as it does have a fairly high velocity claim. Because of the high 450+ fps I would not recommend it to anyone playing in close quarters as it could injure other players so keep that in mind. If you are looking for a lower cost and fairly compact Sniper Rifle for some outdoor shooting, then it might be just the right pick for that. I am hoping my upcoming Field Test Shooting Video showcases it nicely so keep checking back for that Review Video down the road a bit.

In this Indoor Field Test Shooting Video, I put the EMG SAI 2011 DS 4.3 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol through my usual performance shooting test by first finding out what the velocity is by shooting 5 rounds through my Chronograph using a fresh CO2 along with .20 gram Airsoft BB’s. I follow this up with a 10 round accuracy test, again using .20 gram Airsoft BB’s and shooting at a paper target setup 30 feet down range, while seated on a stool in the back with my hands rested on a sand bag up front. This generally works pretty well and helps me get the most out the gun I am testing. If you are also interested in details and specifications than make sure to watch my Table Top Video I already made for the EMG SAI 2011 DS 4.3 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol.

So how did the EMG SAI 2011 DS 4.3 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol do in my testing? Not bad! Starting with the velocity fps test I shot 5 rounds through my chronograph with a brand new 12 gram CO2 cartridge and while EMG claims around 400 fps, I only averaged 321 fps with my fastest shot hitting 323 fps and my slowest shot hitting 318. So relatively close in terms of fps but not close to the 400 claimed fps. Totally fine for Airsoft games, perhaps in super hot temperatures, it can do better but in standard room temperatures this is what I got.

Next up I tested out the EMG SAI 2011 DS 4.3 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol’s accuracy from 30 feet away and put 10 rounds down range as best as I was able to do with my slightly aging eyes. I was happy with the results with most of the rounds staying within about 2 inches of each other and just slightly to the right of the bullseye, but pretty much perfect in terms of elevation. There where a couple of rounds that came outside of the base 2 inch grouping, which increased the grouping to about 3 inches total.

I am a huge 1911 fan and so a 2011 design only tuns up the dial that much more. The EMG SAI 2011 DS 4.3 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol performed without a glitch for me and I love the extra heft and snappy blowback action along with the crips light and short single action 1911 trigger. I was a bit surprised by the lower 323 fps velocity, but to be honest this is more than a capable velocity for a combat close range Airsoft Pistol. The EMG SAI 2011 DS 4.3 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is a real looker for sure, it just needs that eye soar of an orange tip removed to perfect its look. If you like the look and feel of a 1911/2011 in your hand, and if stainless steel is your color of choice, then I would say go for this one.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle is typical of a single action only trigger found on the AR platform. It has a very slight take up with just a little bit of resistance part way, and then a predictable light break. The reset has a noticeable click to it and it is also very short allowing for very fast semi auto shooting. Of course you can always put it in full auto and let her rip, but you will have to restrain yourself since there are only 30 rounds in the magazine like you would find in a standard AR.

Accuracy: Like most of my Table Top Videos, they are made prior to shooting the gun I am reviewing, so we are all going to have to wait until I make my official Field Test Shooting Video for the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle. Where I will be testing out the velocity in fps using my Chronograph, and I will also shoot the Umarex HK 416 A4 in both semi auto and full auto to see how tight of groupings I can get at least at 30 feet away. I fully expect the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle to perform well as this is a very high quality product made by KWA.

Build Quality: The Build quality on the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle is outstanding with metal everywhere you would find it on a real steel AR. Of course the rear adjustable stock is plastic. Because of all the metal front to back, the Umarex HK 416 A4 is on the heavy side at 7.75 pounds, so packing it around all day may be a bit tiring but well worth the joy and pride when holding it. Fit and finish is also excellent, you will pay more for this GBB Airsoft Rifle but the material are nothing but quality.

Realism: The main thing you get from a GBB Airsoft Rifle over an AEG Airsoft Rifle, is not just quality components and build materials, but the user experience which is so much more realistic than shooting an AEG. The Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle just feels so real in weight, how the controls all work, the full cycling of the bolt with a nice heavy and snappy blowback recoil on your shoulder. Even the way the buffer tube spring rings after each shot just makes this GBB Airsoft Rifle a joy to shot and experience. Sure it only holds 30 rounds per mag and shot consistency will vary depending on your shooting environment as all gas guns can be temperamental in colder weather. That said, a real AR does not hold 500 rounds in a mag and they can also be a bit finicky on the battle field.

The Umarex Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle is for sure not going to be for everyone as it is with out a doubt a very expensive Gas Blowback Airsoft Rifle. It may not even be your best option out on the Airsoft Field, as more than likely you are going to get out gunned by everyone else using an AEG with their 500 round magazines and endless torrent of BB’s coming at you. If you just want the most realistic Airsoft Experience, than look no further than the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle, as it does not get more realistic than this and if you want to replicate your real steel AR perhaps for training and practice sessions, than there is no way you can beet the Umarex HK 416 A4. For those with deep wallets that want the ultimate and most realistic AR you can get, you can’t go wrong with the Umarex HK 416 A4 GBB Airsoft Rifle.

Airguns are not toys and as so require proper storage, transportation and handling so as not to cause an accident that could be minor or even deadly.

No matter if you are handling an Airgun or a “Real Gun”, they should both be handled in the same manner even if the consequences from an accident with an Airgun may be less serious. Life long injuries like the loss of an eye are nothing to be taken lightly.

For the most part, what I talk about in this Airgun Safety 101 video can also be applied to a “Real Gun” although most countries will have stricter laws and guidelines in the storage, transportation and handling of “Real Guns” over an Airgun.

Storing Your Airgun:

In Canada an unregulated Airgun does not have any real specific safe storage guidelines but common sense should be used and I recommend that you at the bare minimum keep your Airgun in some sort of locked space whether it be a safe, cabinet or room that is locked all of the time.

You can also put a trigger lock on your Airgun if you do not have a lockable storage location for it.

You should also make sure to store your Airgun unloaded, at least when it comes to BB’s and or Pellets. If there is some unused CO2 in it, or it is charged with Compressed Air, but unloaded in terms of ammunition, that is OK, but again keep it in a safe location away from anyone that may be able to get their hands on it and hurt themselves or others.

Transporting Your Airgun:

Again, in Canada an unregulated Airgun does not have any real transportation guidelines but if you keep your Airgun out in the open and someone sees it, they will most certainly call the police and more than likely you may find yourself staring down the wrong end of a police firearm, at least until they sort it all out. This is very serious as unfortunately people have died as a result of handling their Airguns out in the open and underestimating what kind of police response that may entail.

For that reason alone, always keep your Airgun out of sight in a case or backpack or the trunk of your car. Never transport your Airgun loaded and it is best if you can lock it in a case or put a trigger lock on it for added safety when transporting it.

Shooting Your Airgun:

Shooting your Airgun is always the most enjoyable part of owning an Airgun, so don’t do something stupid and turn that experience into a nightmare. Treat your Airgun as if it is deadly at all times, never point it at anything you do not intend on shooting.

Keep your safety on until you are ready to shoot. Never put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to shoot it and only shoot it in a safe location with an appropriate background and backstop.

Think of the barrel of your Airgun as a light saber that if it crosses even your arm, it could cut it off. Even a BB to the arm is a serious matter. I had a friend that shot himself in the arm with a BB Gun and the BB lodged in the tendons of his wrist requiring an operation to remove it. He was a violin player so this could have ended his violin playing, but luckily he was OK.

When Your finger is not on the trigger it should be held across the trigger guard in a straight position to ensure no accidental misfires.

Wear eye protection, Steel BB’s will bounce back when they hit a hard surface and can come back with enough force to injure an eye easily. Generally Airguns do not require ear protection but some can be loud enough that you may want to wear some sort of ear protection as a precaution.

Only shoot with others that are responsible and take Gun Safety very seriously. Young people will need constant supervision and it is best to go through all of this first before even considering handing them an Airgun for the first time. Perhaps start them off with something like an Airsoft gun which will have less consequences if an accident were to take place.

Airguns are awesome in so many ways and allow for a similar shooting experience to a “Real Gun”. They can be used in more situations, with less overall cost and are a great way to learn proper gun handling and how to improve your shooting ability even if you are a “Real Gun” owner. Always be responsible with your Airgun not only for yourself but for others as it only takes a few idiots to ruin things for the rest of us. Don’t be that Idiot please!
