SHOT Show 2024 Replica Airguns - Umarex Interview

Kicking off my SHOT Show 2024 Interviews, I present my Umarex Interview with Mark Davis, you may remember Mark from past Umarex SHOT Show Interviews? This is a fairly long interview as Mark had a lot of product to show me including…

The new Marlin Lever Action BB Rifle, the Walther PDP CO2 BB Pistol, the BBX11 1911 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol, the MarkPoint Break Barrel .177 Caliber Pellet Pistol, the Trinity Hi-Cap 2011 Blowback Airsoft Pistol, the Gambler High Stakes Single Action Army CO2 Airsoft Revolver, the Glock 380 GBB Airsoft Pistol, the CQC Elite Force AEG Airsoft Rifle with i-Trace, and the Beretta PMX GBB Airsoft Rifle.

Yep, that’s a lot of products to go over in one Interview, and Mark did a great job! I am really looking forward to getting my hands on these new products from Umarex to review for everyone!

SHOT Show 2024 Replica Airguns Teaser

I’m back from SHOT Show 2024 and I always like to start off my series of SHOT Show Interview videos with a Teaser Video that not only shows off a few new guns but also gives everyone a vibe of what it feels like to visit Las Vegas and SHOT Show. I can only show you so much because as you know what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…

I did get the chance to interview several Airgun Companies that I will be putting together Interview Videos for, including Umarex, ASG, KWA, Barra, EKOL and Byrna. Unfortunately Sig Sauer is no longer attending SHOT Show and Crosman had significantly reduced the focus of their booth and really did not have much in the way of Replica Airguns to show.

Umarex HK P30 - T4E HDB - ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 - KJWorks KP13 Update Preview

In this Preview Review Video I take a look at 4 newer products now in our Replica Airguns Online Store. One is a 4.5mm Steel BB Revolver, two are 6mm Airsoft Pistols and one is a .68 caliber Paintball Shotgun.

The first item I take look at in this video is the Umarex HK30 AEG Airsoft Pistol, this product is pretty entry level with analyst all plastic build and is very light to hold. It does however shoot in both semi and full auto since it is an AEG Airsfto Pistol (not many of them out there). The fps is rather low at a claimed fps at just under 200, the Umarex HK30 AEG Airsoft Pistol also comes with two 16 round remove; plastic magazines. Who knows, maybe it will be fun?

Next I take a look at the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch 4.5mm Steel BB Gold Revolver. This is a CO2 powered shell loading BB revolver very much like similar ones I have reviewed in the past but in Gold finish. Will the gold finishes make it perform better, well I guess we better find out!

I then take a look at a “Glock Like” CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol for KJWorks called the KP13. It has a full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 along with 24 rounds of 6mm Airsoft BB’s. The KJWorks KP-13 has a metal slide, metal magazine and polymer frame with a velocity over 360fps using the included barrel extension.

Last but perhaps the most interesting for me is the Umarex T4E HDB which is a lower cost Paintball/Rubber Ball Shotgun which could possibly be used for home protection? The T4E HDB is a mostly plastic constructed rifle with decent weight to it and uses an internal spring fed 16 round magazine. You will find all kinds of mounting points for accessories and for a sling on the Umarex T4E HDB and again at much lower cost than similar T4E rifle based Paintball/Rubber ball Airguns.

Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun Field Test Review

This review shows that low cost Airguns can perform just like higher priced Airguns. They may not be as realistic and all made out of metals for that added weight and feel but in terms of power and accuracy they can still get the job done as is with the Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun! In this Field Test Shooting Review I do just that, I test the power and accuracy first by shooting 5 rounds through my Chronograph to find out what the real world fps is, I then I shot 10 rounds down range at a fresh paper target to see what kind of grouping I can get and if the Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun is sighted in on the target out of the box.

Starting with the velocity test I first placed a brand new 12 gram CO2 into the Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun and loaded up the 10 rounds rotary magazine with Daisy Zinc Coated 4.5 mm Steel BB’s. The temperature was around 22 degrees Celsius which is 72 degrees Fahrenheit in the sea can indoor shooting range so not too warm or cold. The claimed fps from Umarex is 450, I was able to get an average of 403fps with the fastest shot hitting 425fps and the slowest shooting down to 388fps. So a bit under the Umarex claimed velocity but in the ball park.

Next I performed the accuracy test for the Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun and since the sights are non adjustable you kind of hope that where you aim is where the shots go but if they don’t then you will need to adjust your aim point just a bit. Out of the box the Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun did shoot a bit low but was fairly bang on side to side so when shooting at around 30 feet out you will need to aim just a tad over the intended target. Out of 10 shots, 8 rounds where all within a nice 1.5 inch grouping with a couple of flyers that I kind of want to keep out of this test because it was probably more me than the gun causing them to go off a bit. 1.5 inches is very good for a 4.5mm Steel BB Airgun!

All in all the Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun shot right around 400fps which is for sure a step up for something like a Red Ryder BB Rifle that at best can shoot 300fps. You also don’t have to work the pump as hard as you would the lever on a Red Ryder since the Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun is CO2 powered rather than spring powered. I also feel like the Umarex NXG Pump Shot was more accurate than the Red Ryder at least for me but that said some people can hit a nickel all day long with their Red Ryders! There are not a lot of Pump Action Looking Airguns out there in 4.5mm Steel BB versions and in more compact easier for younger or smaller shooters so if you fall into that category and want something in a shotgun format then the Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun may be perfect for you.

Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun Table Top Review

Type: BB Rifle.
Manufacturer: Umarex.
Model: NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun
Materials: Mostly all plastic construction.
Weight: 2 pounds (908 grams).
Length: 29.5 inches (749mm).
Barrel Length: 12 inches (30 cm) smoothbore barrel.
Propulsion: Single CO2 cartridge.
Action: Pump repeater.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 10 rounds.
FPS: 450+ fps.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun is pretty decent, there is a short task up and fairly easy release as the pump action not only turns the rotary magazine but also cocks the internal hammer/striker system. So you will need to pump it before your first shot and after each shot.

Accuracy: I have not Field Test Reviewed the Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun yet but will be making a full Fields Test Review this week to find out what to expect in terms of accuracy and velocity. So we will find out if the fps is closer to the on the box specs of 450 fps or the mostly online specs of 490 fps. Perhaps somewhere in-between?

Build Quality: The Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun is almost all plastic which is not a bad thing in terms of quality and durability. The fact that it only weighs in at 2 pounds may make it feel kind of light and cheap but in a drop or fall situation it means it will most lily not sustain any damage because of the light weight. Most of todays airguns when made out of metals generally are made out of pot metal or zinc alloy which is a nice heavy metal that looks and feels great but is not super strong so when you drop a heavier gun made out of this material it can easily get damaged.

Realism: The Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun looks like a traditional pump action shotgun and even has a little bit of a recessed barrel to make it more believable but it is smaller in size since it is designed more for younger and smaller shooters. The light weight is not only a giveaway but makes ti feel more like a toy than a real gun. If you can ignore that then hopefully you can enjoy the Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun for what it is which is a low cost compact BB rifle made for customs interested in Airguns liek the Red Ryder but that perhaps want a bit more power.

Pros:

  • Low cost CO2 rifle great for all ages and sizes.

  • Has a fiber optic front sight.

  • Comes in a nice looking two tone Black/FDE color scheme.

  • Fairly easy to pump since the pumping action is not required to activate a spring or compress air.

  • Built in manual thumb safety.

  • Stock and high check rest position feel good and a good size length for smaller younger shooters.

  • Rotary drop out magazine holds 10 4.5mm steel BB’s for quick follow up shots.

  • Trigger feels pretty good, short and fairly light.

  • Full ambidextrous design.

  • Perhaps a step up for entry level shooter over a Red Ryder type BB rifle in terms of power.

  • Overall a decent looking air rifle.

Cons:

  • Mostly plastic, so a bit on the light weight side.

  • Sights are not adjustable in any way.

  • May be a bit cramped for larger shooters.

Comments: The Umarex NXG CO2 BB Pump Shotgun is not going to win any prizes for quality and realism but keep in mind it is really designed more for entry level younger shooters getting into the Airgun hobby. For them this will be not so intimidating as a larger, heavier more realistic version of a replica Shotgun. I think it will be realistic enough for most new Airgun Shooters and in terms of performance and features it is for sure a step up form something like a Red Ryder BB Rifle. I am looking forward to my upcoming Field Test Shooting Review out what the actual velocity is and what kind of groupings I can get shooting 30 feet down range on a paper target.

Umarex Legends CO2 Blowback Full Auto M3 Grease Gun Field Test Review

Umarex has released yet another Legends Replica Airgun and perhaps this one may be the most iconic yet, the M3 Grease gun with a history as far back as 1942. It was put into service int 1944 and then the later variant the M3A1 was used in the Korean War. Also make sure to watch my Table top Video for it for specifications and details along with more close up video.

Getting back to the Field Test Review for the Umarex Legends CO2 Blowback Full Auto M3 Grease Gun, as always I like to test each gun out in the Replace Airguns Indoor Sea Can Airguns Range first placing 5 rounds through my Chronograph to find out the real world velocity of each test gun, then I shoot 10 rounds in semi auto at a distance of 30 feet onto a paper target to see how tight of a grouping I can get shooting from a seated and rested position. With full auto Airguns I like to then perform a full auto shooting test to see how it groups in full auto as often times the full auto grouping will open up somewhat as some Blowback Full Auto Airguns do tend to move around a lot more in full auto mode.

For my Power or Velocity test I was using dual brand new CO2 cartages. Umarex does state that the Umarex Legends CO2 Blowback Full Auto M3 Grease Gun will shoot around 450 fps and with my 5 shot test I was able to confirm this and get close to this mark averaging 436fps. The temperature in the Sea Can was around 20 degrees Celsius or around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Perhaps in warmer conditions I might hit the claimed 450 fps but I was close either way.

For my accuracy test I setup a new paper target 30 feet downrange and proceeded to place 10 shots into it using the peep sight on the Umarex Legends CO2 Blowback Full Auto M3 Grease Gun. I was fairly pleased with a fairly tight 1.5 inch grouping in semi auto. I then switched over to full auto fun mode and with the remaining BB’s I unloaded 50 or so rounds in very short order and as expected the grouping opened up to closer to a 4 inch grouping. This was kind of expected since the Umarex Legends CO2 Blowback Full Auto M3 Grease Gun uses an open bolt system which has a fairly heavy bolt which makes the blowback action more intense, similar to the KWC Mini Uzi but to a lessor degree.

Any time a company puts out another Full Auto Replica Rifle, especially full auto firing, I am 100% in on it. Both Crosman and Umarex have done a great job doing this and the Umarex Legends CO2 Blowback Full Auto M3 Grease Gun is another example of a well thought out and what I expect to be very popular Full Auto BB Rifle. Their Legends series encompasses guns of the later era which I personally really like since they are harder to come by in their real steel versions, so having them available in an easier to acquire version that you can even shoot in your back yard is a win win for everyone. I am also happy to confirm the high capacity double stack 60 round magazine seemed to feed pretty good for me only miss-feeding once during my testing while doing the Chronograph portion but it got back on track right away. If you’re into Full Auto Legendary Airguns then for sure pick one up from us!

Umarex Legends CO2 Blowback Full Auto M3 Grease Gun Table Top Review

Type: BB Rifle.
Manufacturer: Umarex.
Model: Legends M3 Grease Gun
Materials: Mostly All Metal Construction.
Weight: 7.7 pounds (3.5 kilograms).
Length: 29.8 inches (757mm).
Barrel Length: 8 inches (20 cm) smoothbore barrel.
Propulsion: Dual CO2 Cartridge.
Action: Semi & Full Auto Open Bolt Blowback
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 60 rounds.
FPS: 460fps.
Rate of Fire: 1050

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Legends M3 Grease Gun is fairly light being a single action only trigger. You will have to open the bolt (pull it to the rear) which is located under the dust cover using your thumb but the recoil spring is not super heavy on the Airgun version. I would imagine this would take more effort on the real steel version.

Accuracy: I have not Field Test Reviewed the CO2 BB Full Auto Umarex Legends M3 Grease Gun as of yet but will be making a full Fields Test Review next week to find out what to expect in terms of accuracy on both semi and full auto modes along with velocity using brand new twin CO2 Cartridges.

Build Quality: The Umarex Legends BB Grease Gun is really made with form what I can see is an all metal construction at least on the outside. The fit and finishes feel and look really good and it has a nice balance and weight to it.

Realism: The Umarex Legends BB Firing M3 Grease Gun is based on the actual M3A1 version and looks just like it including the rough welds and simple build. Even the action is Open Bolt which means you have to pull the bolt back using your thumb or finger, then when you release the trigger the bolt moves forward loading a round in the chamber and then acting like the firing pin and firing the gun which in turn uses the pressure to cycle the bolt into the rear position ready to fire the next shot in either semi or full auto mode.

Pros:

  • Yet another Classic Legends Replica Airgun from Umarex.

  • Virtually all metal design with good overall weight.

  • Price is very reasonable for all metal replica machine gun in an all metal construction.

  • Semi and Full auto select-ability.

  • Dual CO2 design for increased shots and less cool down effect.

  • Super high capacity 60 round full size drop out metal magazine. (hopefully it works well)

  • Great looking replica of the real steel Grease Gun in looks, operation and feel.

  • Internal bolt blowback will give a bit of recoil feedback feel.

  • Uses a genuine open bolt system.

  • Recessed barrel for added realism.

Cons:

  • Sights are non-adjustable.

  • Hopefully high capacity magazine feeds consistently?

  • Selector switch under frame is not authentic but does allow for semi, full auto and safe modes.

Comments:

The Umarex Legends M3 Grease Gun is yet another great addition to not only the Legends Series of Umarex Airguns but also their Full Auto BB Rifle lineup! I am hoping the 60 round magazine feeds properly as double\ stack 4.5mm BB Rounds don’t always feed as well as Airsoft BB’s do. I guess we will find out when I make my Filed Test Shooting Video… That said the M3 Grease Gun is an excellent Replica of the real steel version with an all metal build and even a true to form open bolt blowback system. I really hope it performs well so I can recommend this Airgun, on first impressions and simply holding and looking around this BB Machine gun I am impressed so far.

Umarex Grease Gun - NXG Pump Shotgun - KWC DE L6 Preview Unboxing

In this Preview Unboxing Video I take a look at three new products just listed in our Replica Airguns Store. Two are products from Umarex both being CO2 4.5mm Steel BB and one is a CO2 powered KWC Blowback Airsoft Pistol. I don’t go into a ton of detail in this video but go over what is listed on the box and a quick walk around of each product.

First up I show off the KWC DE L6 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol, it is much like the Cybergun Desert Eagle L6 I reviewed but without the orange tip and with notched pistol grips, also all back which is classic and looks great. This Blowback pistol shoots 6mm Airsoft BB’s at around 360 fps and has a full size dropout metal magazine that holds the CO2 along with 21 rounds.

Next I showcase a rather entry level 4.5mm CO2 BB Pump Action Rifle called the Umarex NXG Pump Shot that is a mostly plastic lighter weight build perfect for smaller or younger shooters. It uses CO2, shoots 4.5mm Steel BB’s and comes with a drop out 10 round rotary magazine. You will have to pump it before each shot but this makes the trigger fairly light.

Lastly but perhaps my favorite in this lineup I take a look at the CO2 4.5mm Blowback Umarex Legends M3 Grease Gun. Just like the real steel .45 caliber Grease Gun it is capable of full auto and also shoots in semi auto. You will find a full size drop out metal magazine that holds two CO2 cartridges along with 60 4.5mm steel BB’s. Thats a lot of rounds!

All of these Airguns in our Canada Replica Airguns Store and some in the US Replica Airguns Store.

Replica Airguns Huge Mystery Box Unboxing

As the title suggest this a video about a Huge Mystery Box so I am not going to say what’s in it, I can say that their are 4 main products mostly rifles per-say. One is a Futuristic Full Auto BB Rifle, one is a Paintball Shotgun, One is an AEG Airsoft Rifle and one is a Replica Break Barrel Pellet Rifle.

So I have a lot of variety here to show everyone! I did absolutely zero research on any of the products I show in this video since like you I had no real idea what was inside other than how many and that most where rifle based.

Enjoy finding out what new products I will be reviewing over the next month with dedicated Table Top and Field Test Shooting videos.

What has More Accuracy and Power - BB - Pellet - Airsoft - Paintball - Video 2 Accuracy

In this two part video series I compare several Air Pistols to each other to find out what type of round has the most power and accuracy. The guns I use for this not so scientific test are the KWC Model DE /50 Desert Eagle CO2 Blowback 6mm Plastic Airsoft Pistol, the EKOL ES 55 CO2 4.5mm Steel BB Pistol, the Umarex Magnum Research Desert Eagle Blowback CO2 .177 Caliber Pellet Pistol and the Umarex T4E TR50 CO2 .50 Caliber Paintball Pistol.

For this Video 2 Accuracy Test I shoot all of the above listed Airguns at a paper target setup 30 feet down range using a semi rested shooting position with my hands resting on a sand bag up front and seated on a stool in the back. It’s not perfect but works well enough. I didn’t take a ton of time with each gun since there where 4 to shoot in this Field Test Shooting Video so accuracy may have been a bit better if I took a little more time with each gun.

In Video 2 I test the power and penetration of each Airgun option shooting at a pop can, a soup can and a toilet paper roll so make sure to watch that video if you have not already watched it.

What has More Accuracy and Power - BB - Pellet - Airsoft - Paintball - Video 1 Power

For this Video 1 Power Test I shoot all of the above listed Airguns first at a pop can, then a soup can and then a toilet paper roll. The ides is to test penetration abilities with the pop and soup can and then raw force shooting the toilet paper as it will absorb all the energy from each airgun round and by gauging how much the toilet paper reacts or moves it should tell us which airgun has the most raw power or energy.

In Video 2 I will be testing accuracy using my standard 30 round paper target setup in the Replica Airguns Sea Can so stay posted for that upcoming video shortly…

Umarex S&W M29 8 Inch Barrel Shell Loading CO2 BB Revolver Field Test Review

In this Field Test Shooting Review I test out the Umarex S&W M29 8 Inch Barrel Shell Loading CO2 BB Revolver in the Replica Airguns Sea Can Indoor Shooting Range to find out its velocity and accuracy using both 4.5mm Steel BB’s and .177 Caliber Lead Pellets. The version I am using is the BB version but my viewers have informed me that the BB version may in fact shoot just as well as the pellet version using pellets even without the rifled barrel due to how pellets are shaped not always requiring a rifled barrel to fly true. So let’s find out!

Starting with the velocity test, I shot 4 rounds of each ammo through my Chronograph using a fresh CO2 cartridge. Umarex claims the Umarex S&W M29 8 Inch Barrel Shell Loading CO2 BB Revolver is able to get a maximum fps of 420 using standard 4.5mm steel BB’s and I was able to average 396 so every close. In warmer conditions 420 fps should be possible. Switching to the .177 caliber lead pellets the fps lowered a bit to an average of 323 fps as expected since the pellets are much heavier (around 7 grain versus 5 grain). I would expect the energy of the pellets to be a bit higher and also keep that energy out to further ranges so if you plan to shoot longer ranges perhaps go with the lead pellets over the BB’s as long as they are similar in accuracy which I test next.

For the accuracy portion of the test I again started off with the 4.5mm Steel BB’s and fired 6 rounds into my paper target setup 30 feet down range. I shot the Umarex S&W M29 8 Inch Barrel Shell Loading CO2 BB Revolver using a seated shooting position with my hands resting up front on a sand bag to help with stability but it’s not perfect and there is always some human factor to consider. That said I was able to shoot a 1.5 inch 6 shot grouping with the BB’s and if I remove one outlier from the group that reduced it to closer to around an inch so not too bad for a BB shooter. I then switching up to the .177 caliber lead pellets and was a bit surprised that even without a rifled barrel the pellets seemed to perform better than the Steel BB’s getting a solid 1 inch grouping with no real outliers in it!

Unfortunately I do not have the actual rifled barrel version of the Umarex S&W M29 8 Inch Barrel Shell Loading CO2 Revolver. Perhaps in the future I can compare the BB verso to the Pellet version using pellets to see if there is an improvement with the addition of the rifled barrel. I can say the BB version without the rifled version shoots pellets just fine at least up to 30 feet so feel free to shoot whatever ammo you want to with it and not be worried about compromising accuracy or velocity.

Umarex S&W M29 8 Inch Barrel Shell Loading CO2 BB Revolver Table Top Review

Type: BB Pistol.
Manufacturer: Umarex.
Model: M29.
Materials: Metal & plastic.
Weight: 2.5 pounds (1135 grams).
Barrel Length: 8.375 inches (Smooth bore).
Total Length: 12.13 inches.
Propulsion: 12 gram CO2 cartridge.
Action: Revolver, single and double action.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's (Also available in 6mm Airsoft).
Ammunition Capacity: 6 rounds.
FPS: 420fps claimed.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex S&W M29 8 Inch Barrel Shell Loading CO2 BB Revolver is light in single action but not too light, there is virtually no take up and the release is predictable. In double action the trigger pull is heavier as the cylinder and hammer are both actuated manually by the trigger but even so the pull is not what I would call heavy for a double action revolver. The double action trigger pull is nice and even and will not tire out your finger too much firing all six rounds quickly.

Accuracy: At this point i have not made my Field Test Shooting portion of my review for the Umarex S&W M29 8 Inch Barrel Shell Loading CO2 BB Revolver but I expect to get close to the 420 fps claimed velocity and I also expect to shoot around a 1 to 2 inch grouping based on my past experienced with similar Shell Loading BB Revolvers. I may even pull of a 1/5 inch group if I am on my game and so is the gun… We will have to all wait till next week when I record the shooting portion of my review for the Umarex S&W M29 8 Inch Barrel Shell Loading CO2 BB Revolver.

Build Quality: Overall the all metal build quality of the Umarex S&W M29 8 Inch Barrel Shell Loading CO2 BB Revolver is very good. The black chrome finish looks really nice but does show every finger print and any grease from your hands. The imitation wood grips look just like real wood and with only the exception of a small scratch or crack in the front plastic red sight, the Umarex S&W M29 8 Inch Barrel Shell Loading CO2 BB Revolver was flawless.

Realism: The Umarex S&W M29 8 Inch Barrel Shell Loading CO2 BB Revolver is the same revolver used in one of the Dirty Hariy Movies and really looks exactly the same. As with all the shell loading BB/pellet/Airsoft Revolvers, they look and perform exactly like the real steel versions other than recoil of course. The only give away for the Umarex S&W M29 8 Inch Barrel Shell Loading CO2 BB Revolver would be the diameter of the shells as Umarex decided to repurpose the 38/357 shells used in their other smaller caliber shell loading revolvers. It would have been nice to have a larger 44/45 caliber sized shell that they could use in both the Colt 45 Single Action Army Revolvers and this 44 Magnum version of the Smith and Wesson M29 Revolver. The barrel opening is closer to that of a 44 Magnum so they did get that part right.

Pros:

  • Classic iconic 44 magnum movie revolver.

  • Mostly all metal build.

  • Good overall weight, it’s big so expected to weigh a fair amount.

  • Lots of detail, well made, fit and finish is very good.

  • Fully S&W Licensed via Umarex.

  • Love the black chrome look but prone to finger prints.

  • Simulated wood grips look real enough.

  • Should have good overall power, accuracy and shots per CO2 (claimed around 80 per CO2).

  • Adjustable rear sight for windage/elevation with red dot front sight.

  • CO2 Allen key built into grip.

  • Recessed barrel true to 44 magnum opening size.

  • Nice Trigger pull in both single and double action.

Cons:

  • Shells are closer to 357 not 44 magnum in size.

  • Don’t like the white writing on the right side.

  • Black chrome finish shows lots of finger prints and grease.

Comments:

I really like that Umarex decided to give us this more classic Revolver to add to our collection of Airgun Revolvers! I was a big fan of the Dirty Harry Movies so this gun is for sure going to be part of my Airgun collection and even if you are not a fan, you should probably be a fan of the Smith and Wesson M29 which was considered to be one of the most powerful revolvers back in its day. Right now you can get it in 4.5mm Steel BB and 6mm Plastic Airsoft but hopefully there is a .177 caliber Pellet version on its way at some point.

Umarex Ruger Mark IV - Action Army AAP-01 - Bear Desire XL - Crosman A4-P - Air Venturi Avenger Preview

In this Preview Unboxing Vimeo Video I take a look at five very different products! A Spring Piston .177 Caliber Pellet Pistol, an Airsoft GBB Pistol, a Compact Crossbow, a full auto CO2 Blowback BB Pistol and a PPC .22 Caliber Pellet Rifle.

First up is the Umarex Ruger Mark IV Spring Piston Pellet Pistol which is a single shot replica pellet pistol that shoots .177 caliber pellets at up to 320 fps using a spring piston break barrel system. The Umarex Ruger Mark IV Spring Piston Pellet Pistol is a target plinker with fully adjustable fiber optic sights and should be a lot of fun to shoot!

Next I take a look at a Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistol from Action Army that closely resembles the Ruger Mark IV pistol with perhaps a more compact look. The Action Army AAP-01 GBB Airsoft Pistol is full blowback a full size drop out magazine and fiber optic sights. It also come with a threaded barrel and barrel extension for adding a longer barrel and much suppressor.

Next on my list of new items is the Bear X Desire XL Crossbow which is a 2.2 pound compact bolt shooting crossbow that sports a rail system with included adjustable iron sights that also allow for a red dot if you want to really customize it. The Bear X Desire XL Crossbow has a 60 pound draw and shoots arrows/bolts at up to 175 fps.

Another AR BB Rifle/Pistol from Crosman is the Crosman A4-P Full Auto CO2 BB Pistol which is essentially a pistol version of the AR Platform. If you like the Crosman DPMS SBR, R1, PDW then you will probably also like the Crosman AP-4. Like the others it uses dual CO2’s and shoots 4.5mm Steel BB;s in semi or full auto at 1400 rounds per minute until the 25 round magazine is empty.

Last included in this preview video is the Air Venturi Avenger Regulated PCP Pellet Rifle. I’m a bit uncertain about this one as I am pretty sure it is the non detuned PAL version that requires a firearms license here in Canada as it shoots at full velocity (.22 caliber pellet at 950 fps). If that’s the case then it will not be available in our Canada Replica Airguns Store but may be available in the US Replica Airguns Store. If it is the detuned version or a detuned version becomes available in Canada then I imagine we will at some point have it in the Canada replica Airguns Store. That said the Air Venturi Avenger Regulated PCP Pellet Rifle uses compressed air and shoots either .177. .22 or .25 caliber pellets using a latch system and rotary magazine.

Which Beretta 92 Airgun is the Best - Updated

Back in 2017 I made “Which Beretta Airgun is the Best” Video and showed off some 4.5mm Steel BB and .177 Caliber Pellet versions of my favorite Beretta 92 - M9 style Air Pistols. There have been some changes since then most noticeably the addition to Airsoft versions so I thought I would update this video with more current Beretta Airguns along with of course some of the same ones form my last video.

Because I show off 4.5mm Steel BB, .177 Caliber Pellet and 6mm Plastic Airsoft versions I decided to pick my favorites form each category. Watch my Vimeo Review Comparison Video so checkout these Air Pistols and see which ones are my favorites…

Umarex Mod 92 A1 and 1911 Tac Airsoft - Barra Schofield Steel BB Pistol Update Video

In this Vimeo Replica Airguns Update Video I take a look at three CO2 Airguns, one is a 4.5mm Steel BB revolver distributed by Barra and two are CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistols distributed by Umarex. All of these CO2 Airguns I have previously reviewed in slightly different versions either barrel length and finish or Steel BB as compared to 6mm Airsoft So checkout why other reviews on similar version Airguns.

The Barra Barra Schofield CO2 BB Revolver is a replica of the Schofield No. 3 single action revolver and utilizes 6 reloadable shells for a very realistic shooting experience. It is very solid in construction bing made mostly out of metal and weighs in at around 2.4 pounds. This version shots 4.5 mm Steel BBs at a velocity of up to 400 fps. It comes in a variety of barrel lengths and finishes so amen sure to have a look in our Online Replica Airguns Store for what we have available

Next up from Umarex is the fully licensed Beretta Pietro Mod. 92 A1 CO2 Blowback Semi and Full Auto Airsoft Pistol, this product is distributed by Umarex but is made by KWC. Another solid metal pistol with a hefty 2.4 pound weigth that holds 21 rounds in its full size drop out metal magazine and offers both semi and full auto shooting at the flick of a switch!

Again from Umarex I showcase the Elite Force 1911 Tac CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol and like the Beretta Pietro it too is made in the KWC factory for Umarex. The 1911 Tac as the name suggest is a tactical version of the standard Colt 1911 but with some upgrades like a skeletonized hammer and trigger along with an ambidextrous safety, white dot sights front and back and a picatinny rail on the frame for add ons. You can expect velocity to be somewhere in the 400 fps range and the full size drop out metal magazine holds 15 Airsoft BB’s.

Umarex S&W M&P 9 M2.0 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol Field Test Review

Make sure to also checkout my Table Top Review for the Umarex S&W M&P 9 M2.0 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol.

In this video I test out the Umarex S&W M&P 9 M2.0 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol to see what we can expect in terms of accuracy and velocity. I first shoot several rounds through my Chronograph to get an average fps fooled by an accuracy test where I shoot 10 rounds at a paper target setup 30 feet down range to see how tight of a grouping I can get and if the Airgun out of the box shoots relatively on target.

Starting with my Velocity Test I shot about 9 rounds through my Chronograph to get a 6 shot average using a brand new CO2. The first three shots seemed to be a bit low as the Umarex S&W M&P 9 M2.0 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol is brand new and this was probably the CO2 valve settling in a bit. After the first three shots all the rest of the shots where in the 350-360 fps ranges with an average of 359 fps, fairly close to the Umarex 375 claimed fps on the packaging.

Next I setup a brand new paper target 30 feet down range and placed 10 rounds carefully on it from a seated and rested shooting position. I was able to get close to a two inch grouping that was a bit to the left of the bullseye but well centered vertically. The sights are not adjustable so at least with this gun I would need to aim juts a little bit to the right to nail targets consistently.

Overall I am impressed with the Umarex S&W M&P 9 M2.0 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol, the fps was right in the ballpark giving better performance than most full blowback BB guns which will ams translate to more shots per CO2. The accuracy was also on point, it just would be nice if some of these lower coat airguns had adjustable sights to get them dead canter. I did find the trigger to be better than expected, it is a bit long as the first part of the trigger is used to shutle a BB into the breach for the magazine but usually this porting of the trigger pull can have a bit of friction to it, not the case with the Umarex S&W M&P 9 M2.0 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol as it felt really smooth. The actual trigger release does require a bit more force but once y9u figure it out the guns world well and would make for good action shooting.
