Cybergun Mini UZI CO2 BB Gun Chronograph and Full Auto Shooting Test

Today I got my Cybergun Full Auto CO2 powered BB shooting Mini UZI out for a Chrony Chronograph test. As stated by the factory, this BB shooting Mini UZU is supposed to shoot right around 344 fps which is not bad for a true blowback airgun. And what I mean by true blowback - it's when an airgun uses some of the CO2 power to cycle the action of the gun, which cocks the firing mechanism and loads a BB all in the blink of an eye - just like a real semi auto shooter.

The Cybergun Mini UZI shot nicely between 350 and 360 fps - again, another impressive result even on a not too warm day! (10 degrees Celsius - 50 degrees fahrenheit)

I also took the opportunity to film the Cybergun Mini UZI shooting in full auto, at target while I used my high speed Casio camera to slow down what was actually happening. The result is you can really see all that's going on while you fire this dynamic air gun.

Keep in mind that the Cybergun Mini UZI does not come from the factory with the full auto feature. It is an easy mod however, and I have a video here on how to do it.

Umarex Magnum Research Desert Eagle Blowback CO2 Pellet Pistol Chronograph FPS Test

Yet another Chronograph video! I'm working my way through my air guns and starting with the ones that I have been asked about the most, and that I'm also the most interested in finding out what the true "real word" feet per second ratings are.

<!-- google_ad_client = "ca-pub-9036472715040282"; /* Replica Airguns Content */ google_ad_slot = "1487049688"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15; //-->

Todays Chrony Chronograph test was done on my Umarex Magnum Research Desert Eagle Blowback CO2 .177 caliber pellet pistol. The factory rating was stated as being a respectable 425 fps which is pretty good for a blowback pellet shooter. The Umarex Desert Eagle is a crisp and accurate shooter that likes to eat up CO2 cartridges, so the factory claims are believable!

I am happy to say that on a fresh CO2 cartridge, in not too warm spring Vancouver weather, I not only hit the 425 claimed fps, but exceeded it with a few shots.

Zoraki 914 Full Auto Product Review by NicFitNation

I don't post a lot of other people's video here on the site but from time to time when I see a really good one, I'll feature it. This video is from a YouTuber named NicFitNation. What I like about this video most of all is the way VST sums up the reasons for getting a blank gun to begin with. I know most of you already understand the reasoning behind owning a blank gun, but for some reason I seem to answer this question a lot on my YouTube channel.

Make sure to watch the video right to the end as there is a nice demo of the Zoraki 914 shooting in full auto!

Webley Alecto - Zoraki HP-01 .22 Caliber for Pests and Vermin Control

I want to say first off that I don't take any pleasure in killing animals, even the ones that invade my home and eat my crops, but unfortunately there are times when you have to do what you have to do and restore order.

I live on six acres of land and only really have a problem with two pests, and that would be Rats and Flying Rats, (otherwise known as Crows). The Rats get into my garbage and even into the house at times and chew and eat things that don't belong to them making a big mess. The Crows on the other hand eat the cherries and plums on my fruit trees and seem to take pleasure in killing the Blue Jays and Robbins that are trying to make a home on my farm.

I have purchased a dedicated .22 caliber Crosman Quest 800 pellet gun that is capable of 800 fps for the humane elimination of the Rats and Crows that are not welcome on my land. I use this Pellet Rifle most of the time to quickly and humanely dispose of the pests and vermin.

I recently purchased the Webley Alecto (Zoraki HP-01) in .22 Caliber and thought it would make a great compact pest control gun as it has good power and accuracy and is available in .22 caliber which puts more raw energy into the target. It is the time of year again when the young Crows that have not yet learned to stay away from my property start coming around and causing a nuisance, so I thought this would be as good a time as any to try out my Webley Alecto.

The target was a medium sized crow about 40 feet away. My Webley Alecto was sighted in and ready to go with 18 grain Beeman Crow Magnum hollow point pellets. I pumped it up to the max and took aim, the crow immediately went down and landed in my pool area. Unfortunately I winged him, I really mean it because his wing was obviously broken. I waited for him to settle down (there was nowhere for him to go in the fenced off area) and put one last round into him, again from at least 40 feet away. The second shot was a head shot and it was game over.

I was shooting a bit far out for open sights in this case but even so I put both shots into the Crow. Adding a low power Scope or even a Red Dot would make extended range shooting with the Webley Alecto a bit more precise. The Webley Alecto is definitely up for the job of taking care of the Pests and Vermin around your home or farm. My father is even going to pick up a Webley Alecto for his hunting trips to use as a grouse gun when he is out hunting larger game. The Webley Alecto is fully legal to carry in Canada (non-controlled firearm) and very compact.

Well hopefully I have not offended anyone? Just remember, this is a gun website and guns get used for many things, one of which is taking care of business - just as they where designed to do!

UMAREX S&W M&P 45 SPECIFICATIONS AND PHOTOS

Sorry, I only have the one photo I could find of the Umarex Smith & Wesson M&P 45. This CO2 pistol shoots both BB's and Pellets and looks like it uses some of the design elements from other rotary magazine Umarex guns like the CPSport and CP88. Again I am not sure if the slide is metal or plastic because of the lower weight factor?

Specifications:

  • Uses 12 gram CO2
  • 4.5mm steel BB's and .177 caliber pellets
  • 380 fps
  • Double action
  • 8 rounds
  • 1.37 Pounds

Added the Umarex Beretta PX4 Storm to the Store

A few more Store product updates... I just added the Umarex Beretta PX4 Storm to go along with the PX4 Storm Recon we have in our Replica Airguns Store.

The Beretta Px4 Storm Recon air pistol is not only a BB gun, but a pellet gun as well. It will shoot either projectile from its revolutionary dual-ended magazine. This 16-shot repeater will have you shooting as fast as you can pull the trigger. There's an 8-shot rotary clip on one end of the stick mag, and another one at the other end. Since it shoots BBs or pellets, you'll have more flexibility with ammo choice.

A 12-gram CO2 is easily loaded into the grip and gives you plenty of shots before you need a refill. There's even an accessory rail under the barrel. Like the handgun, it has real blowback action, it really kicks, giving you a feeling of power that most airguns only hope to achieve! Once you start shooting, you won't want to stop, so get lots of RWS pellets, BBs and Walther CO2.

  • .177 Pellet & 4.5mm BB
  • CO2 Powered
  • 16 round magazine (8 on each end)
  • 380 fps
  • 1.6 pounds
  • 4.5 inch steel rifled barrel
  • Single and double action
  • Blowback
  • Metal slide - polymer frame
  • Tactical Rail Mount

Webley Alecto PCP .22 cal. Air Gun Chrony Test

Related Posts:

I have been wanting to do a Chrony test for my Webley Alecto as I didn't have a chronograph at the time of my original review. Today was the day I got around to it and I am really happy with the results I got. Mine came with the pressure release valve adjusted fairly conservatively. I imagine this is a generic setting that is set the same for both the .177 caliber and .22 caliber versions based on the lighter .177 caliber having a faster muzzle velocity and hittiing the 495 fps with less pressure required.

In the case of a .22 caliber pellet and it having approximately double the weight, the pressure release valve may be adjusted a bit on the light side, but I was only guessing and I wanted to make sure I didn't have an air pistol shooting over 500fps as this would make it a restricted firearm here in Canada and although I have my restricted firearms license, I didn't want to have this particular pistol governed by the rules and regulations of a restricted firearm.

So lets get to my results. I was using crosman premium 14.3 grain pellets for this test, far from the heaviest .22 caliber pellets you can get. I also tested my Webley Alecto out with one, two , three and even four pumps. Keep in mind pumping the Webley Alecto four times is not recommended by the factory and could cause long term damage to your Alecto. I did it with mine because I will ultimately get asked what an extra pump will give you in terms of extra fps.

  • One Pump: 270.9 fps

  • Two Pumps: 390.5 fps

  • Three Pumps: 449.8 fps

  • Four Pumps: 487 fps & 496.3 fps

So as you can see, I did not go over 500 fps even with four pumps which is exactly where I wanted this pistol to be around. If you do decide to do the pressure release valve mod on your Webley Alecto, I would recommend you also test yours out on a chronograph just in case your results are different then mine, and keep in mind modifying the Webley Alecto could void your warrantee. The last thing you want to be carrying around is an illegal firearm!

Crosman 1088 Silver CO2 Pellet - BB Gun Review

Type: BB air pistol.

Manufacturer:Crosman.

Model:1088S.

Materials: Mostly plastic.

Weight: 1.1 pounds.

Barrel: 3.8 inches, metal rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x 1.

Action: Semi auto, double and single action.

Ammunition Type: .177 cal. pellets - 4.5mm BB's.

Ammunition Capacity: 8 round rotary magazine.

FPS: 430.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Crosman 1088 is pretty good in both single and double action modes, obviously a bit lighter in single action then when in double action. When I was using single action mode, I found the gun would accidentally de-cock its self if I was too tentative right at the break point, I did get used to the break point and was able to shoot in single action mode very effectively with just a bit of practice.

Accuracy: I shot the Crosman 1088 air gun at a target from 20 feet away in a free standing position, and it performed well getting a 1.25 inch grouping right close to the center of the target while using .177 pellets. The rear sight is adjustable for windage which is nice in an entry level pellet gun, the rifled barrel definitely helped this pistol to shoot while using pellets, when using BB's it may not be as accurate.

Build Quality: The 1088 is not going to win any wards for quality of build as it's pretty much an all plastic gun, but Crosman did use metal where it counts the most, in the rifled barrel, the hammer and the CO2 screw and tab (of course there are some metal internal parts).

Realism: The Crosman 1088 is not an actual replica gun, but it does closely resemble the Ruger P345 (.45 Auto). The 1088 does not have any of the Ruger's trademarks or licensing but it does share the basic shape and design of the Ruger P345.

Purchased From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • The price is right!

  • It has a rifled barrel.

  • Can shoot both pellets and BB's.

  • Has an adjustable rear sight for windage.

  • Has good accuracy and decent power.

  • CO2 screw and tab are hidden in the handle.

  • Is both a single and double action shooter.

  • Has a modern look with an under barrel accessory rail.

  • Made in the US.

Cons:

  • This gun is almost all plastic.

  • Trigger in single action mode can sometime de-cock the gun when slowly activating the trigger.

Comments:

There is no doubt that if this pellet shooter had more metal, it would appeal to a lot more people and would probably fetch a lot more money! That said, the plastic does not actually take away from the shooting experience and if you can get your mind around the plastic build quality, you will find this is a great little diverse pellet pistol with many excellent features like a rifled barrel, single and double action mode, ability to shoot pellets and BB's all with an adjustable rear sight.

EKOL - ARDA - TUNA - MAJOR - SPECIAL 99 - ASI UZI - 8-9MM P.A.K. BLANK GUN SHOOTING REVIEW

Related Posts:

I have been wanting to shoot my latest batch of EKOL Blank Guns, and today I was able to do just that! I left out my EKOL Firat because I have already done a shooting review of the EKOL Jackal and these guns are virtually identical with the exception of the Jack Dual being a semi and full auto blank shooter. Here are the guns I got to shoot today: (EKOL Arda, Tuna, Major, Special 99 and ASI UZI), all of which where purchased from the Replica Airguns Store.

In this video I use both my Canon T2i DSLR and my Casio EX-FC100 high speed camera so I was able to capture it all in both High Definition and in High Speed slow motion. First off I was very impressed with how all of these EKOL blank guns performed, this was my first time shooting them and they all shot every round without a misfire, jam or loading problem.

EKOL ASI UZI 9MM P.A.K. BLANK MACHINE GUN REVIEW

Related Posts:

Type: Blank Gun.

Manufacturer:EKOL - VOLTRAN.

Model: ASI UZI.

Materials: Plastic (Polymer) shell, metal internals.

Weight: 3.5 pounds.

Barrel: Semi plugged - front firing.

Propulsion: Gun powder.

Action: Semi/Full auto single action.

Ammunition Type: 9mm P.A.K. blanks.

Ammunition Capacity: 15 & 25 round magazines.

FPS: N/A.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull of the ASI UZI is typical of a single action semi auto gun, no hammer pull is required so it has a light to medium pull.

Accuracy: N/A.

Build Quality: The build quality is similar to that of my Zoraki 925 blank gun. The outer polymer shell is very durable and on the inside lives an all metal Jackal Dual. The fit and finish are very good making it hard to image this is essentially a pistol with a plastic shell wrapped around it.

Realism: The ASI UZI closely resembles the Mini UZI but is not an exact copy. It is the basic size weight and shape however.

Purchased From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Semi and Full auto makes this gun a lot of fun to shoot.

  • Very good construction, lots of internal metal parts and quality plastics on the outside.

  • Comes with both a 15 round and 25 round magazine.

  • Has a built in foregrip.

  • Would make a great prop gun as it looks like the stereotypical mini machine gun.

Cons:

  • 9mm P.A.K. Blank ammo is expensive and this gun can go through it fast!

  • Can be a bit pricey depending on where you purchase it from.

  • Comes in a cardboard box, not a plastic hard shell case.

Comments:

The EKOL ASI UZI is a blank machine gun which right there says it all! Who wouldn't want to get their hands on this and shoot a bunch of blank ammo off in full auto mode? If you don't mind paying a bit more for this luxury then the EKOL ASI blank machine gun is for you. Just make sure to buy lots of 9mm P.A.K ammo.

UPDATE - Feb. 22nd: Added a YouTube video to this post.

Back on January 30th I made a post about the Replica Airguns Store getting some new EKOL Blank Guns and Airguns. We'll I just got my review shipment of them in today and had some fun looking them all over. I don't plan on keeping all of them, but I will most certainly keep a few for my personal inventory!

Let's take a closer look at some of these fine EKOL blank guns and air guns:

EKOL ASI - $269US(Order-now)

The EKOL ASI is a very nice semi auto and full auto front firing 9mm P.A.K blank machine gun. This well built blank shooter comes with a 15 round and 25 round magazine and has selectable semi or full auto firing modes. This blank machine-gun is destined for my collection...

EKOL FIRAT - $139US (Order-now)

You may remember my reviews on the EKOL Jackal Dual? This is it's little brother in the compact version and with semi auto only. Other than that it's the same exact 15 round 9mm P.A.K. blank gun!

EKOL SPECIAL 99 - $119US (Order-now)

The EKOL Special 99 is a mid-sized Beretta styled blank shooter that comes with a single stack 8 round 9mm P.A.K. magazine. I was instantly impressed with the styling and overall feel of this gun. I'm pretty sure this one is a keeper!

EKOL ES 55 - $159CAN (Order-now)

In the mix of Blank shooters came this EKOL ES 55 4.5mm BB gun, I'm going to have to shoot a few rounds through this arigun before I can really comment on it. Still a very nice looking all metal BB shooter with a full size drop out 16 round magazine.

EKOL MAJOR - $109US (Order-now)

If your a James Bond fan, you will recognize the design of this gun, it's a replica of the Walther PPK compact semi auto, Bond's favorite sidearm in many of the 007 movies. This particular version uses 9mm P.A.K blanks and holds 7 rounds in the magazine. I already have a few PPK styled blank guns so I'm not sure if this one is staying with me...

EKOL TUNA - $79US (Order-now)

Now we are getting into the light weight blank guns, and I thought my EKOL Volga was small! The EKOL Tuna is pretty similar to the EKOL Volga in looks and design but comes in just a bit smaller and hold 6 rounds of 8mm P.A.K. blanks in it's tinny single stack magazine. Even though this blank gun is so similar to my EKOL Volga, I may find it just a bit too hard to give up?

EKOL ARDA - $89US (Order-now)

If you're looking for a small blank gun - look no further! The EKOL Arda is crazy small but even so feels solid in the hand, just make sure to hold on tight! The Arda hold 5 rounds of 8mm P.A.K. blank ammo in it's cylinder and uses a pre-cocked single action only hammer, just like back in the wild west.

New Holster for my Makarov and Tactical Rail for my Desert Eagle Arrived

If you have watched my Umarex Desert Eagle Review Video, you probably heard me whining about not having an under barrel Tactical Rial for my Umarex Desert Eagle. Well the whining paid off because with some help from Justin from California USA, I was able to get a replacement Tactical Rail! I guess Justin didn't need his and he offered to sell me his at a very reasonable price and I am now so happy my Umarex Desert Eagle has been reunited with its accessory Tactical rail.

I also received another treat today in the mail - a beautiful tanned leather holster for my Nickel Baikal Makarov graciously given to me by Mark from Ontario Canada. Mark has a wonderfull collection of Air guns past and present and had an extra Makarov holster he though I would appreciate - and I certainly do!

Thanks so much Justin and Mark!

EKOL JACKAL DUAL 9MM P.A.K. BLANK GUN REVIEW

Related Posts:

Type: Blank Gun.

Manufacturer:EKOL - VOLTRAN.

Model: Jackal Dual.

Materials: Mostly Metal.

Weight: 2.5 pounds.

Barrel: Semi plugged - front firing.

Propulsion: Gun powder.

Action: Semi/Full auto single action.

Ammunition Type: 9mm P.A.K. blanks.

Ammunition Capacity: 15 round magazine.

FPS: N/A.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull of the Jackal Dual is typical of a single action semi auto gun, no hammer pull is required so it has a light to medium pull.

Accuracy: N/A.

Build Quality: The build quality is similar to that of my Zoraki blank guns. The EKOL Jackal Dual is well built and uses good quality materials, this gun is almost all metal and very heavy with thick materials. The finish quality is typical of other Turkish guns - good but not perfect. Out of all the EKOL finishes, the black (which is more of  glossy back) is probably the nicest.

Realism: The Jackal Dual is an almost exact copy of the Beretta 92FS, it would be hard to tell them apart from any distance.

Purchase From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Semi and Full auto makes this gun a lot of fun to shoot.

  • Very good construction, lots of metal parts and good solid weight to the Jackal.

  • The black gloss finish is one of the nicer EKOL finishes.

  • If you own a Beretta 92FS or plan to get one, the Jackal would make a great trainer to accompany your real one.

<!-- google_ad_client = "ca-pub-9036472715040282"; /* Replica Airguns Content */ google_ad_slot = "1487049688"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15; //-->

Cons:

  • 9mm P.A.K. Blank ammo is expensive and this gun can go through it fast!

  • The rear safety is non-functional and a bit confusing.

  • The plastic but piece at the bottom of the magazine seems a bit cheap and out of place with the rest of this well made gun.

  • The Jackal is a bit on the high price side compared to the other EKOL blank guns. (You may want to look at the EKOL Firat blank guns as they are the same gun without the full auto feature for about $60 less.)

Comments:

The EKOL Jackal Dual blank gun is a nice addition to our growing number of legal blank guns in Canada. EKOL offers a nice variety of models to choose from with an assortment of finishes. Out of all the EKOL guns, I would consider the Jackal Dual as being the most realistic as it is really a copy of the Beretta 92FS. The quality and finish is pretty good overall with the usual few minimal imperfection found on many Turkish blank guns. This gun test fired without incident. I shoot 10 rounds through it and had no miss fires, failures to load or eject. The full auto feature of this gun makes it very thrilling to shoot, just make sure you have lots of ammo with you and an out of the way place to shoot.

Related Posts:

Type: Multi-pump Air Pistol.

Manufacturer: Webley - Zoraki ATAK Arms.

Model:Alecto -  HP-01

Materials: Polymer shell with metal internal parts.

Weight: 2.4 pounds.

Barrel: 7.2 inches, metal rifled.

Propulsion: MSP Multi-stroke pneumatic.

Action: Single shot.

Ammunition Type: .177 & .22 caliber pellets.

Ammunition Capacity: 1 pellet.

FPS: 495+.

Trigger Pull: You simply can not get a better trigger. You can adjust it left and right and forwards and backwards. You can also adjust the tension from .9 lbs to 4 lbs and the break point is smooth as butter.

Accuracy: Awesome, I got about a 1 inch group from a free standing position 20 feet away.

Build Quality: Build quality is excellent, it does have an external outer plastic shell but it is very solid and made of what seems to be high quality weapons grade polymer. All the internal mechanical parts are made out of metal.

Realism: This is not a replica air gun but it does resemble the Desert Eagle in shape and size.

Purchased From: the Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Very accurate for a pistol.

  • Only a few pumps generate a lot of power.

  • Fully adjustable trigger and grips.

  • Fully adjustable sites, including a rotating front site for quick adjust near and far shooting.

  • Great safety design with one finger operation.

Cons:

  • If you're left handed you have to buy the extra left hand grip separately.

  • Comes with the pressure release valve adjusted a bit too lean. (seems to let pressure out even with only two pumps)

  • May be a bit to large for small handed shooters.

Comments:

I originally got this target air pistol mainly to test it out and do a review for the website, thinking I was going to send it back at the end. After playing around with it for a while, I have decided I simply can not part with it. The Webley Alecto is just to addictive to shoot and has such great power and accuracy that you kind of forget it's not an action shooter. you get lost in literally blasting away anything you point it at.
